Pairing/Characters: Harold Barton/Edith Barton, Barney Barton & Clint Barton, Clint Barton & Jacques Duquesne, Clint Barton & Buck Chisholm, various other characters from Carson's Carnival of Traveling Wonders
Word Count: 50,058
Rating: Teen And Up Audiences

Summary: We all know Clint Barton. That Avenger who always has something funny to say, and who never misses a clue. Hawkeye, they call him. And for good reason. But, what we don't know is where he came from, how he became the marksman he is today. Where did it start? How did it happen? Who were the people who made him who he is?

the author wrote this for nanowrimo this year, and it's a really interesting take on Clint's formative years as seen through the eyes of the people around him

matchmaker matchmaker
rating: pg-13
characters: Darcy Lewis, Clint Barton/Natasha Romanoff, Bruce Banner, Jane Foster, Maria Hill, Jarvis, Pepper Potts, Steve Rogers, Tony Stark, Thor, Sam Wilson
warnings: none

summary: How do you get two people who are so clearly in love with each other to realize it? Great question. If you have any suggestions, please contact Darcy Lewis at Avengers Tower, Manhattan, NY.

author's note: For alphaflyer, who prompted "Darcy … as the matchmaker From Hell (or heaven, depending on how you look at it!)" for Clint and Natasha. Many thanks to cybermathwitch for beta'ing!

"This is completely ridiculous," Darcy said with no small amount of incredulity.

Title:  "For the Record"
Rating: G
Warnings: None apply
Characters: Clint Barton, Natasha Romanoff, Nick Fury, Maria Hill, Avengers (background); OCs
Summary: It's the day after the Battle for Manhattan, but there are still fights to be won.

Written for [livejournal.com profile] happilydancing, on the occasion of her birthday.  A sequel of sorts, to Veni, Vidi Vici -- aka Chapter 11 of "Moments" -- and the "post-credit" scene I stuck into the comments to that.  (It will likely become Chapter 12 in due course, once I've edited it a gazillion more times.)

Happy birthday, Hap! :-)

For the Record

Seema Singh heads for the Records Office, afraid of what she will find.  Yesterday, when she’d left for the emergency evac that never came, things had been mostly intact -- but that was before the Hulk’s rampage; before the second engine blew out.

Her fears are justified, as it turns out:  There are metal struts blocking the way to her desk, glass and dust everywhere, and one of the walls is missing altogether.

"I guess S.H.I.E.L.D. is moving to the Open Office concept a bit sooner than we thought?"

Manny Gonzalez’ voice comes over her shoulder with a jollity she knows he doesn't actually feel.  "Welcome to Dilbert World, the Loki edition.  Next stop, the open-air cubicle."

Type Of Gift: Fic
Title: Of Love, Loyalty and Shovels
A Gift For: [livejournal.com profile] whiskyinmind
Rating: M. Swearing and discussions of violence and sexual relationships.
Warnings: Written in near-total ignorance of the Aja/Fraction ‘Hawkeye’ canon, because every time I try to get my hands on the 1st trade edition, it’s sold out. Including three different stalls at Comic-Con!
Summary: As Clint’s apprentice in hero-ing (hero-ism? hero-ising?), Kate believes it’s her duty to give Natasha ‘the shovel talk’, and it doesn’t matter HOW terrified she is.
Author's Note: I had a great idea for the Secret Santa... then I realised it was actually a sequel to what I wrote last year, and thus wouldn’t exactly be ‘secret’. So I tried this instead... hope my recipient likes it anyway!

Summary/Prompt Used: Pepper gets to know Clint and Natasha, from we're-not-calling-it-girls'-night-out to friendly drop-ins to Italy

Title: 5 Times Someone Tried to Interfere in Clint & Natasha’s Relationship and the 1 Time It Worked
A Gift For: [livejournal.com profile] alphaflyer
Rating: PG
Warnings: the overall tone is light, but Alzheimer’s is addressed in a serious manner
Summary/Prompt Used: The summary is covered fairly well in the title. :-) I tried to touch on as many of the prompt choices as possible (fun challenge!) The ones I used are below:
1. Maria Hill always thought Barton and Romanov had psychopathic tendencies. Otherwise, how could they do what they did? But then ...
3. Tony and Pepper are happy(ish). They want Clint and Natasha to be happy(ish), too.
4. Steve visits Peggy in the hospice. Natasha decides to go with him -- and figures out something in the process.
5. Anything that makes you happy and contains a bit of banter or snark, will make me happy too.
Yes please: … outsider POV, 5 +1, assumptions proven wrong … team!fic …
Author's Note: I hope you like it. I definitely wrote it with you in mind. :-)

5 Times Someone Tried to Interfere in Clint & Natasha’s Relationship and the 1 Time It Worked )

30 August 2013 @ 11:19 am
Not too long ago my family was sitting around watching “The Avengers” (because who doesn’t do that on occasion because REASONS) when a Clint/Natasha moment came onscreen. I don’t even remember which one it was, but I do remember my stepdad calming announcing to the room, “They have a history. You can tell.” His tone making it very clear what kind of history our favorite assassin pair has.

So if the 70-year-old retired schoolteacher can intuit Clint and Natasha’s relationship based solely on the canon that is “The Avengers”, what do the people who live and operate in said assassins’ universe think? What about people who see them only once in a while? Other superheroes? Average folks? SHIELD agents? Submit your recs – all types welcome!

Title: Counterfeit and Counterpart
Rating: PG-13
Warnings: Mentions of past child abuse including implied non-con (nothing described in graphic detail), canon-appropriate violence, swearing
Pairings: Maria Hill & Natasha Romanoff, Natasha Romanoff/Clint Barton, Maria Hill & Clint Barton, Maria Hill/Steve Rogers
Word Count: 28056
Summary: Five times Maria Hill doesn’t understand Natasha Romanoff, and why she might be better off that way.
Author’s Notes: This was written for [livejournal.com profile] heroinebigbang. [livejournal.com profile] tielan did some amazing art for it, which you should check it out here and leave her a like or two!
Excerpt:

“Natasha,” Romanoff said, and held out a hand.

Maria glared at it.

Natasha gave her a look. “It’s customary to shake hands upon meeting. Our first meeting was not a conventional one, so…”

“Oh, fine.” Maria shook hands with the Black Widow—and had nobody but herself to blame when Natasha blithely flipped her onto the mat.

“And now,” Natasha said, “we begin.”

Maria groaned. “Should’ve seen that coming.”

Title: She's kissing the boys with wicked smiles
Fandoms: The Avengers, Captain America (movies)
Pairing (ot3): Clint Barton/Natasha Romanoff/James "Bucky" Barnes
Rating: explicit
Warnings: NSFW content, canon compliant traumatic experiences in the past (vaguely mentioned). Also, based on speculation about Bucky and new Captain America movie.
Disclaimer: I don't own them, but it looks like they own me
Summary: Clint has a suggestion for Bucky, designed to make everyone happy. (It also means boys are really really awesome to Natasha)
Author's notes: this is my first attempt at writing OT3, which definitely contains solid Clint/Natasha. It was fun and exciting and I was a bit nervous, because it's quite out of my comfort zone and things I usually write. I want to dedicate this to three enablers: [livejournal.com profile] ashen_key who first suggested it, helped me realize that this is indeed an awesome idea, [livejournal.com profile] frea_o who said this needs to be written and that my brain can survive it and [livejournal.com profile] franztastisch who kept cheering me on (very loudly. I don't mind! ;) A huge thank you to [livejournal.com profile] shenshen77 the best and fastest beta reader there is!

Title: Some nights
Fandom: The Avengers 2012, Iron Man 3 (MCU)
Characters: Tony Stark, Clint Barton, Natasha Romanoff
Pairing: Clint/Natasha and implied Tony/Pepper
Genre: drama, introspection, romance. Tony and Clint friendship.
Rating: PG – 13
Spoilers: for Iron Man 3
Warnings: vague mentions of PTSD, panic attacks and other post – traumatic symptoms. Unbeta'd for now.

Summary: Tony and Clint are fixing things (well, a car), shortly after events of IM3.

“I make things. Or... fix things,” he said and nodded towards the car, then looked at Clint. “That's harder than being inside the suit,” he said, looking straight ahead again. “Because fixing something is a risk. It can work out, or it can fail.”

Disclaimer: they belong to Marvel, and my heart belongs to them. The title and quoted lyrics belong to Fun.

Author's notes: written really quickly in honor of [livejournal.com profile] anna_sg1's birthday; and filled with general Supernatural references. BECAUSE OF REASONS. (Also, I hope I didn't commit fail there!) Bear in mind that I don't know how to fix cars, so I hope I didn't mess this up when it comes to car fixing part. (I did consult my husband who has a clue or two). Also, there's a small, tiny reference to Captain America 2, and it concerns something in Natasha's possession. If you're on tumblr, you probably ran across that detail. (How that object came to be in Natasha's possession is purely my imagination.)

Title: Twenty Pieces of Silver
Rating: PG-13
Genre: General/AU
Type: One-shot (so far)
Spoilers: No real spoilers for the Avengers, some references to comic characters.
Warnings: No warnings or trigger warnings in this one, at least not that I'm aware of, though it's fairly dark overall.

Title: Driver’s Ed
Rating: PG-13
Fandom: Marvel Cinematic Universe, Avengers
Pairings: Clint/Natasha if you squint
Warnings: Violence, allusions to past abuse, gunplay.
Summary: When a rookie brings a concern to Coulson about some of Natasha’s habits, he initially dismisses her. But like most everything involving the Black Widow, appearances can be deceptive.
Word Count: 3479
Author’s Notes: This fic was inspired by the most recent ATTF, where we talked about how Clint and Natasha get around when they’re not hijacking Quinjets with Captain America. I posited a theory about Natasha’s habits, and [livejournal.com profile] anuna_81 liked it so much that I had to put it into fic.

Also, I picture this as taking place in the same universe as The Candy Thief. It's set between Thor and The Avengers.
