Summary: A collection of various, unrelated 3-sentence fics for Clint and Natasha prompted at the Be Compromised community or written for memes, etc.

Hi everyone! First post in this bar. Just wanted to share a podfic I made of a wonderful fic that I consider to be a Clint/Natasha classic. Enjoy! :D

Title: Budapest
Author hot mess express
Rating: PG
Genre: Romance
Type: One-shot
Warnings: No warnings needed for this one at all.
Spoilers: No real spoilers.

Why rec'd: I enjoy marriage fics, but very often, Nat and Clint are out of character in them. I was thrilled today to find a marriage fic where Clint and Nat are perfectly in character, and as a bonus, (as you can probably guess from the title) it's a Budapest fic too. :D It quickly found its way onto my favorites list. It's very well written, but it only has a few reviews on FF.N, so I'm rec-ing it, because it deserves more attention than it's gotten so far. :)

Hi! I'm Lera. I'm new here. I've been stalking--I mean, haha, "watching"--no really, stalking--for a few months now. I finally decided to be brave and put up fic at a LJ and share it with you fine folk since you've shared some true masterpieces with the rest of us.

Under the cut, many presents. Many. May it make your Monday better (I'm "working from home", can't you tell?)

you and me, we grew under a bad sun )

Title: The Nature Of Dust
Author/Artist: [livejournal.com profile] inkvoices
A Gift Basket For: [livejournal.com profile] sugar_fey
Rating(s): R for sex
Warning(s): highlight to view (spoilerish)*sex, mild bondage (with rope), offering sex as payment, kind of personified weather trying to kill people/nature as violent and deadly*
Pairings: Clint/Natasha
Brief Description/Prompts Used: Fic with accompanying collage of graphics/manipulations and icons for the prompt 1930s dustbowl AU. Clint and Natasha are members of a travelling circus. Dark/supernatural elements a la Carnivale optional but very welcome. Thanks to this prompt I am now watching Carnivale, but I’m not familiar enough to use the supernatural elements from it… so I made up my own. I hope this is something like what you were looking for! Happy Holidays :)
Authors Notes: Title taken from the song ‘Nature of Dust’ by Laura Marling. http://www.goodmagic.com/carny/c_a.htm covers all of the circus slang used in the fic. I’ve aimed for historical accuracy, except for use of fire poi – my research suggests that wasn’t really around until the early 1960s, but the character that performs with it is well travelled and innovative, and I really wanted to use it ;)
It takes a village: many thanks to the legion of people who helped me with the research for this, thanks to everyone who bounced ideas around with me, huge thanks to the amazing [livejournal.com profile] rthstewart and [livejournal.com profile] lar_laughs for applying their magic beta abilities to my words, and thanks to [livejournal.com profile] anuna_81 and [livejournal.com profile] cybermathwitch for orchestrating this whole Secret Santa party.

Title: Home
Author: chrisfaithalin
Rating: PG-13
Word Count: ~2400
Pairings: Natasha/Clint
Summary: In the aftermath of New York, Clint and Natasha journey home.
Authors Notes: Inspired by [livejournal.com profile] dictator_duck's prompt to write a story incorporating our hometown. While Ellensburg, Wa is not my hometown, I've lived here now for numerous years as a college student. It's a really cool college town that is really mellow and chill, if that makes sense. I love this town and this story kind of started out as a love letter to the town and morphed into angsty exploration of post-New York Clint and Natasha feels. I wrote it in one sitting, yay for insomnia, and would love feedback on this one. It's a different kind of story than I normally write, which made it an interesting exercise in writing. Also this is 1st person pov, which I don't often write and I know there are next to no stories in 1st person in this fandom so I hope that doesn't put people off the story., Un-beta'd.

Happy Friday, Shippers!  Hope you are doing well.
Even though the film has only been out for a little over a month, we have already been blessed with awesome freaking fic.  Like, I can't even.  The caliber of writing is superb, it covers such a wide variety of topics, and it's just damn fun to read.  I'm still combing through all the great stuff that's been posted here, and I haven't even begun to plumb the depths of AO3.  And the fic is not going to stop any time soon (and the fandom said "HUZZAH!")

So.  Fic Rec Fridays.  It's an idea I've been toying around with a for awhile.  Here's the deal: we pick a genre of fic each Friday and bring our recs to the table, along with dicussion and whatever-the-hell-else strikes our fancy.  The purpose is two-fold: (i) to generate recs (obviously), and (ii) also to begin a system of more detailed tagging, so as this fandom grows, it will make fic and other fanworks easier to find.  You with me so far?  I've been brainstorming genres and have started a list (which I'll post in the comments), but would love to hear your ideas as well.  Also if you like the idea.  Also if you have suggestions.  But most of all, as a way to generate and organize recs.

So to kick things off, I thought I'd start with SUPERSEKKRIT MARRIAGE FICS.  It's about the tropiest of tropes, but hot damn I love being in a fandom where this is a legit subcategory of fic.  And it could totally be canon.  Totally plausible.  And it's so much fun to play with the idea that our lovely Master Assassins might have tied the knot long ago unbeknownst to everyone around them.  I'll rec two to start us off:

Assumptions by TashaBlackWidow (on AO3)
One of the first fics I ever read, written before the movie came out.  It's all about the humor here, and the team!shawarma dialogue feels perfect.  The epitome of funny and cute.

Like Teenage Gravity by [livejournal.com profile] londondrowning
Post-movie. This is a more serious take on secret marriage, and handles the subject in a very thoughtful and beautiful way.  Characterization feels spot on---sparse and perfect.  Guaranteed to induce undignified flailing.  ;)

So what about y'all?  Bring your supersekkrit marriage recs to the table!  (And please don't limit it to fic---any kind of fanwork related to this category is welcome.)  Also, our first friending meme is still going strong, if you haven't already, go and check it out and chat it up. Good times.

A/N: A/N: I liked the idea of Clint and Natasha being married before the events of the film, but I wanted to make it believable. This is what came of that. My truest thanks to [livejournal.com profile] workerbee73, without whom I never would have actually completed a Clint/Natasha fic. Thanks, Bee!
