Title: Through the eyes of a sniper on vacation
Author: [livejournal.com profile] wizbey
Remix Recipient: [livejournal.com profile] shenshen77
Pairing(s): Clint/Natasha
Rating: PG13
Warnings: Nothing really that I can think of
Author's Note: This takes palce after Avengers but before Captain America 2. I decided to remix Appreciation, in it Natasha is very protect of Clint and looks at his body in a realistic way, including his scars. In this fic it's Clint who is protective of Natasha (from a distance) and appreciative of both her body and scars.
Fic I've Chosen To Remix: Appreciation
Summary: He will always have her back, it's just what he does. It doesn't matter if their in the middle of the desert or some crowded vacation resort.

Title: Marriage is for Children [1/1]
Author: [livejournal.com profile] theladymore
Remix Recipient: [livejournal.com profile] scribble_myname
Pairing(s): Clint/Natasha
Rating: PG-13
Warnings (or 'I choose not to warn'): A very minor scene of violence, nothing to write home about
Author's Note: So I read the fic, and I thought hum this was a very interesting concept but what happened during the mission. I thought it would be a slight journey to keep herself and figuring out what love is. So I hope you enjoy my take on what could have happened. Also slightly AU as in Clint and Natasha came back to SHIELD after the change in power in SHIELD so slight spoilers from AOS.
Fic I've Chosen To Remix (please include link): The Black Widow and a Cup of Marriage
Summary: Clint and Natasha pretend to be a married couple in a suburbian home as they watch over a suspected HYDRA couple. Natasha realizes a few truths about love.

Title: This Bitter Earth
Author: [livejournal.com profile] franztastisch
Remix Recipient: [livejournal.com profile] inkvoices
Fic I've Chosen To Remix: The Nature of Dust
Pairing(s): Clint/Natasha
Rating: Teen
Wordcount: 1301
Warnings: Angst, starvation, background character death(s)
Author's Note: This is a pinch hit. [livejournal.com profile] sugar_fey asked me to cover but between her sending the message and me replying to it, we'd both had ideas about what to write. So [livejournal.com profile] inkvoices gets two stories! Lucky her. :P
I was really angry about climate change when I wrote this, which is fitting as it's a gift for a fellow geographer, and I am possibly more proud of this story than I am of anything I have ever written before. So I really hope you all like it.

Summary: The only beautiful things here are her and the stars. And he can’t reach the stars.

Title: Almost Home
Author: [livejournal.com profile] sugar_fey
Remix Recipient: [livejournal.com profile] inkvoices
Pairing(s): Clint Barton/Natasha Romanoff
Rating: Teen
Warnings (or 'I choose not to warn'): non-explicit references to past childhood trauma
Author's Note: This is a remix of [livejournal.com profile] inkvoices' wonderful fic, 'On Names.' It's a beautiful study of what names mean to Natasha. This gave me the idea for a study of what home means to Natasha and how her conception of home develops. Many thanks to [livejournal.com profile] enigma731 for thinky thoughts, to Shrike_Attack and [livejournal.com profile] alphaflyer for the beta, and of course to [livejournal.com profile] inkvoices for writing the original fic!
Fic I've Chosen To Remix (please include link): On Names

Summary: ‘Home’ is a word in a language not her own.  Natasha has never longed for home.

Title: wound you up like i tied a bow
Author: [livejournal.com profile] findthesea
Remix Recipient: [livejournal.com profile] _samalander
Pairing(s):  Clint/Natasha
Rating: NC-17/Explicit
Warnings: BDSM, knife play, sexual content, language - please see additional notes/warnings at beginning of fic
A/N: I had the general framework for this story bouncing around in my head for a few months, but never got around to putting it together - so perhaps it was serendipitous that fate (or the mods) offered me a chance to have this particular idea line up nicely with something that my recipient had already written. In short, I got to write the fic I wanted to write, and remix a fic I really liked when I first read it...so I consider this a win/win. And I'd apologize about the length, which got away from me the more times that I edited, but I can't imagine you all will mind. :)
Fic I've Chosen To Remix: Faith and Numbers
Summary: “You’re going to have to be convincing,” Fury says, and it’s not until later, when they’re completely alone and it’s all setting in, that Clint understands what his boss means by convincing.

The biggest of thanks to [livejournal.com profile] enigma731 for beta, cheerleading, edits, and your tireless support that included telling me yes, shut up, don't worry at least five times a day for about three weeks. I don't know what I would do without you. <3

Banner Challenge

We only had one banner entry for this month, so I was going to use that one, but the sizing didn't work :( Instead I'm using one of the unused banners from the last challenge set, by [livejournal.com profile] frea_o. People in the Southern Hemisphere, have a seasonally appropriate banner!

If anyone would like to contribute a banner to the community, because it is nice when we get a shiny new banner at the start of each month, just send them in to be_compromised@hotmail.com If we have more than one by the end of the month I'll do a vote/challenge. No theme, unless you feel inspired by the time of year.

A few rules...
1) Everyone is invited to play, seriously, everyone, give it go!
2) Banners must be safe for work.
3) Banners must have a width of 800 and a height of 350 and preferably be a png or jpg file.
4) If it comes to a vote we will make your banners anonymous, so please don’t tell or show anyone what you’ve made until the end of the start of the next month.
5) When new films etc come out please don’t use images that could be spoilers until general DVD release. (If you want to use something and you're not sure if it counts as a spoiler or not, PM me or email.)
6) Banners should contain both Clint and Natasha.

Title: Thaw
Author: Sienamystic
Remix Recipient: Alphaflyer
Pairing(s): Clint/Natasha
Rating: G
Warnings (or 'I choose not to warn'): No warnings necessary
Author's Note: I really enjoy missionfic, where relationships get explored because of a situation and you can throw metaphors and "if things hadn't gone wrong this wouldn't be happening" stuff, and "well, now we've got a new relationship post-disaster, how did that happen?", and Alphaflyer's Warmth was a story that hit so many of my buttons I decided it had to be the one I wanted to explore. The story I ended up writing is, in some ways, a mirroring, where I've turned a frigid hotel room to a hot desert - but I wanted to maintain the journey that Alphaflyer took Clint and Natasha through, so that the endings would be very similar. I hope I've created something worth reading, because I think the original story is such a tidy bit of characterization that I'd love to live up to.
Fic I've Chosen To Remix (please include link): Warmth, by Alphaflyer
Summary: A disaster leaves Clint and Natasha stranded in the desert.

Natasha doesn't hate the desert, exactly (link to A03)

Title: safety pin me to your chest so I can stay put
Author: [livejournal.com profile] allisnow
Remix Recipient: [livejournal.com profile] telaryn
Pairing(s): Clint/Natasha
Rating: Mild M for language
Warnings: I choose not to warn
Author's Note I: So, as remixes go, I'd say that this one is firmly in the "Read the Fic and Let the Plotbunnies Go Wild" camp. For the most part, I was inspired by the title of the fic and of Natasha having to work within SHIELD's constraints to rescue Clint. Having recently OD'ed on Agents of SHIELD, and rewatched Winter Soldier, I started thinking about how things might be different now -- the constraints don't exist, but neither do the resources. And that gave me the perfect excuse to write The Story of Where Clint Was During the Movie, Why Natasha Didn't Seem Especially Worried About Him, and Oh Yeah That Damned Necklace. Because go big or go home, am I right? I do feel kind of bad that this story doesn't reflect the source material more, but I'm hoping that my recipient - and all y'all - will enjoy it for what it is.
Author's Note II: This is essentially a crossover with Winter Soldier and Agents of SHIELD, with spoilers for the latter through the season one finale.
Author's Notes III-V: The POV/tense shifts are Dan Simmons' fault. The man is a crazy genius and I made the mistake of rereading his Hyperion Cantos this summer. It ate my brain. The title is from "Mended" by The Autumn Film. And thanks to [livejournal.com profile] madjm for the beta and my dear 'Becca' for letting me vent, brainstorm, and generally freak out.
Fic I've Chosen To Remix (please include link): Exercising Restraint
Summary: For a long time, Natasha's been expected to hold herself back. But with the fall of SHIELD, she's running out of reasons to keep acting like a good little agent.

Title: Learning Natasha (Again)
Author: [livejournal.com profile] scribble_myname
Remix Recipient: [livejournal.com profile] sienamystic
Fic I've Chosen To Remix: I Know My Place (But It Don't Know Me)
Pairing(s): implied Clint/Natasha
Rating: Gen
Wordcount: 5151
Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply
Author's Note: When I ran through all the awesome fics available to remix, I kept coming back to this one because it talked about how Natasha was coping with becoming a team player, and there were all these little, delightful moments implied that I wanted to capture. I hadn't meant to wrap up the fic with the same scene, but the momentum carried me there and I rather like how it all turned out.

Summary: There are certain things about Natasha that are true. In order to fit in with her new team, she just needs to learn a few more of those truths.

Title: Dreaming of Budapest
Author: [livejournal.com profile] scribble_myname
Remix Recipient: [livejournal.com profile] sienamystic
Fic I've Chosen To Remix: In Two Straight Lines In Rain or Shine
Pairing(s): Clint/Natasha
Rating: Gen
Wordcount: 1010
Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply, some child/medical abuse and canon-typical violence implied
Author's Note: It's a crossover between Firefly and Avengers and it was really the story implied about Clint and Natasha that drew me to the fic, but then I decided to go watch Firefly so I could really remix it and fell head over heels in love. After that, the fic practically wrote itself.

Okay, so there might have been a very specific line that drew me: The man is a little package of tense, and the red-haired woman has...well, she has the same look on her face as River sometimes gets, right when she’s about to do something at her highest range of inexplicable. How could I resist a first line like that?

Summary: River Tam dreams that Natasha needs help—and answers.

Title: now that I have your attention
Author: [livejournal.com profile] inkvoices
Remix Recipient: [livejournal.com profile] hufflepuffsneak
Fic I've Chosen To Remix (please include link): Miss Fisher's Murder Mystery AU
Pairing(s): pre Clint/Natasha
Rating: PG13
Warnings (or 'I choose not to warn'): a dead body, Natasha does not do nice things for a living (nothing is graphic or on screen)
Summary: Detective Inspector Barton is not surprised to find Natasha Romanoff in the vicinity of a corpse. Not even a corpse in the underbelly of the space station and her in a ball gown.
Author's Note: [livejournal.com profile] frea_o challenged me to write an AU of an AU and when I got the lovely [livejournal.com profile] hufflepuffsneak in this remix I had plenty of AUs to choose from! I ended up going through many versions of this, from a dystopian space ship searching for new worlds to a steampunk space station, and this is where I ended up. Hopefully I did justice to their excellent peaks through the window into alternate worlds. Thanks go to [livejournal.com profile] franztastisch and [livejournal.com profile] alphaflyer for cheerleading and [livejournal.com profile] sugar_fey for organizational awesome.

Title: Returning Kindness
Author: [livejournal.com profile] shenshen77
Remix Recipient: [livejournal.com profile] alwayslera
Pairing(s): Clint Barton / Natasha Romanoff
Rating: PG-13
Warnings (or 'I choose not to warn'): PTSD, mental illness
Author's Note: I read the fic by [livejournal.com profile] alwayslera and was immediately struck by the visual of water as a means of redemption. So I hope you don't mind that I turned your Natasha!centric piece into Clint!centric h/c with the whole team included.
Thanks a mill to [livejournal.com profile] anuna_81 and [livejournal.com profile] hufflepuffsneak for the beta, you are both awesome!
Fic I've Chosen To Remix (please include link): You Were A Kindness
Summary: In the aftermath of Loki's possession Clint thinks he's losing his mind. But is he really?

Author: [livejournal.com profile] enigma731
Remix Recipient: [livejournal.com profile] theladymore
Pairing(s): Clint Barton & Natasha Romanoff
Rating: Adult
Warnings (or 'I choose not to warn'): graphic depictions of violence
Author's Note:  I was really excited to write for someone who loves angst as much as I do, and to get more experience flexing my spy!fic muscles.
Fic I've Chosen To Remix (please include link): Checkmate
Summary: Natasha thought that if she could count on anything, it would be Clint's trust in her.

Title: Coffee and Commitment Issues
Author: [livejournal.com profile] hufflepuffsneak
Remix Recipient: [livejournal.com profile] sugar_fey
Pairing(s): Maria Hill & Steve Rogers, Carol Danvers & Jessica Drew, Clint Barton & Natasha Romanoff
Rating: PG
Warnings: None.
Author's Note: I was really excited to get SugarFey for this remix. Adjectives Assemble (a bookstore AU) is my favorite fic of hers, and I loved her interpretation of the MCU characters in this alternate universe. I outlined a possible way life might continue for these characters after the events of Adjectives Assemble. Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] shenshen77 for the beta.
Summary: Natasha leaves Adjectives Assemble to go on vacation, and things get weird for Maria in her absence.

Title: featherstep
Author: [livejournal.com profile] _samalander
Remix Recipient: [livejournal.com profile] franztastisch
Pairing(s): Clint&Natasha friendship
Rating: R
Warnings: Violence, including animal death. (Please see end of fic for specific warnings.)
Author's Note: I've loved Franzi's work for a long time, so I was super excited to get to work on her stuff for remix. It was hard to choose the story to remix, but on a walk one day, I started thinking about Natasha's affinity for languages, and what it might mean if she could communicate with Clint on another level. And it grew from there.
Fic I've Chosen To Remix: طائر غريب (Strange Bird)
Summary: Natasha has always heard the voices of the animals around her, but when a bird tells her to trust the strange man pointing an arrow at her head, she does.

( She grew up hearing their songs. )

Notes: I hope this turned out well. I really enjoyed reading all of the fics that were put up to remix and it was very hard to pick on to try and do something new with. I tried my best to mirror the style that you used for your fic to give mine the same kind of feel that yours had.

Title: Other Side of the Mirror
Author:
[livejournal.com profile] telaryn
Remix Recipient: [livejournal.com profile] allisnow
Pairing(s): pre-Clintasha
Rating: PG-13
Warnings (or 'I choose not to warn'): I choose not to warn.
Author's Note: I've never done a remix before, so when this exchange was announced I was excited to try. I signed up, got my assignment in turn...

...and panicked.

Allisnow is somebody I have referred to in the past as "the Michelangelo of the Clintasha fandom". White Blank Page in particular is literally the best case fic I've ever read.

To recap - I sign up for something I've never done before and the person I get assigned is Michelangelo and on the list is the Sistine Chapel.

No pressure. *g*

So I took a look at the other fics on the list and there was something about Out is Through that really spoke to me. I'm a sucker for Clintasha meeting stories, and telling Clint's part of that story seemed to fit the bill perfectly.

Why I ended up returning to White Blank Page to do a second fic...
Fic I've Chosen To Remix (please include link): Out is Through
Summary: He's read maybe a tenth of the intel available on the Black Widow, but Clint is sure of two things: 1. She's looking for a way out, and 2. She doesn't want to die.

Now if he can just convince his superiors that he knows what he's talking about, things might start changing for the better.

Title: The Past That Never Leaves You
Author: [livejournal.com profile] telaryn
Remix Recipient: [livejournal.com profile] allisnow
Pairing(s): Clint/Natasha
Rating: R
Warnings (or 'I choose not to warn'): I choose not to warn.
Author's Note: While I was working on my remix of Out is Through I decided to reread White Blank Page - primarily because I hadn't read it in a while, but also because I wanted to make absolutely sure I wasn't avoiding the potential to tell a story that was in me to tell. A lot of times when I'm inspired to write a fic it's because I've seen an "entry point" in canon that allows me to slide in, do my work and then leave.

I found that point in White Blank Page during my reread when I started drawing mental parallels between Kamala Menesh and Yelena Belova, Natasha's "sister" in the Red Room. What resulted wasn't a perfect "what if" by any means, but is definitely a story I am proud to say was inspired by allisnow's amazing storytelling.
Fic I've Chosen To Remix (please include link): White Blank Page
Summary: While trying to rescue Natasha from the grip of the Institute for Rehabilitative Therapy, Steve and Clint discover that some poisons are harder to root out and destroy than others.

Remix Recipient: [livejournal.com profile] i_llbedammned
Pairing(s):  Clint/Natasha

Warnings:  none apply;
Fic I've Chosen To Remix: "Innocence"
Summary:  Natasha, picking up the pieces.

In [livejournal.com profile] i_llbedammned's story "Innocence" (link above), Natasha reflects on her blood-stained past and on the role Clint plays in her present. It ends with Natasha recalling, “… the times when they just met in his shitty apartment and ate dinner together. The pain would just melt away into warmth. Maybe this was what innocence felt like.” I liked the idea of Clint’s place providing Natasha with an emotional anchor, and decided to explore this in the context of the events of CA:TWS.

This story is a companion piece to "Safe House" and "Recurve". Note that this apartment is not the Hawkguy place in Brooklyn, but rather my head canon one from my story “The Skies Over Manhattan”, which I started to write long before I ever picked up a comic.

Thanks are due to [livejournal.com profile] inkvoices and [livejournal.com profile] franztastisch for early brainstorming and cheerleading, and to Franzi for the beta. Any mistakes that have crept in since are my own.  Thanks also to [livejournal.com profile] sugar_fey for organizing the exchange!
