Secret Santa: Choices Post
Okay folks, here's how this works: below is an anonymised list of what people have said they would like to receive as a gift in the Secret Santa exchange. People taking part please reply to this post with a comment - which will be screened - saying what your FIRST, SECOND, and THIRD choices would be for what gift you’d like to create. Yes please: I love team as family and I like comic characters, but would prefer more MCU based fic (Feel free to throw in any cameos you like, though. Cameos rock my world!) I like the idea of Bucky & Bobbi as past lovers and Bucky or Tony or someone giving Clint & Natasha a hard time. Little slice of life moments are very much approved of. I am ok with both friendship and romantic fics. Poly is also ok.
No thank you: Prefer that there be no deaths and if you start with a pair together, I strongly prefer that they still be together by the end. So... no breaking up of the 'ships? Not a huge fan of A/B/O or soulmates, but will tolerate. Also, if Coulson is involved, please don't slash him in any way with Clint. (Clint can get his gay, bi, poly, straight groove on with anyone else he'd like to however.)

I have several prompts from different exchanges in my challenge letters tag, but for the most part I like emotional H/C, people who are bad at relationships learning to relationship, and anything that ties into canon storylines. Difficulty when Natasha joins the Avengers, anything about her and Clint having to work through her betrayal while undercover, or issues with having four disparate personalities in one relationship are all great topics.

Wild West AU: The news had trickled in from the South, whispers turned into daily gossip, and soon, the front of the newspaper: Gambler shoots Phil Coulson in cold blood! One-eyed Fury was the one that told them good ol' Phil was dead, that the gambler had shot right through his heart and that he died fifty miles from the city of New Orleans. Clint listened to all of it with a square jaw, his hand clutched tightly on the holster of his pretty, bloodstain-free 75' revolver, and vowed to drag the gambler's body back to Arkansas alive to be tried and hanged.
If not, I love any historical AU, and team SHIELD. Mission fic is always good - maybe one where they're stuck in Asia? That'd be interesting, with the language barriers and everything: can either of them speak an Asian language? If so, to what degree?
Yes please: I'd love it if Kate Bishop makes a guest appearance, and I don't mind team!Avengers. Other things I like: schmop of angst, comedy, history, pop culture references if in a modern setting (or non-modern too!) Oh, and a great connection between our two favourite assassins, no matter if it's romantic or not.
No thank you: No smut please, and no Tony bashing. Tony is the light and love of my life <3
Canon Preference: Mostly forget canon, because AUs!!! which does mean canon denial too, but I love Laura and I love Laura and Clint's relationship, so if you want to add that in, go ahead! However I do enjoy fics that explore the partnership between Clint/Natasha more than the stories that put their partnership to the side.
FIVE

SIX

1) Agent Barton goes undercover as one of the men who works under one of the most dangerous drug lord there is in the world. This drug lord is part of the biggest drug ring in the world. When Clint misses two checks in times. Agent Romanoff goes after him on her own without S.H.I.E.L.D. back up. When she gets there she find him close to death. Will she be able to get them out in one piece? Will there be anyone who will help them out of their situation?
2) Clint was sixteen when his family died in a car crash. He was the only one who made it out alive. Clint’s English teacher Phil Coulson has agreed to be his legal guardian until he is eighteen. Clint is okay with this arrangement. His life continued. He meets Natasha Romanoff when he returns back to school. They start to hang out and they became friends. What will happen when Clint finds out Natasha was the one who killed his family?
3) Clint Barton is a solider along with his two best friends Steve Rogers and James Barnes. Steve meets Natasha Romanoff who is a nurse in the military. Steve and James meet Peggy Cater and Samantha Regan (you original character, use another name if you want) who is a nurse also and happens to be Natasha’s best friend. What will happen to them when War world 3 starts? Who will make it in the end?
4) Natasha is a college professor who teaches English. Clint is one of her students. There is a writing contest and Natasha encourage her student to enter. Clint signed up but as he write more on the story the more he feels like it's not good enough for the contest. Clint ends up throwing away a page of the story in the classroom trash before he leaves. Natasha ends up reading the page and she encourage the writer of the page to see her after class. Natasha meets Clint and she helps Clint to polish the story before submitting it.
5) Clint is going to run the triathlon. Natasha is a news report who is doing a story about a few of the participants. They haven't seen each other for years. Natasha recognize him and they start to talk. Natasha's boss takes her off the assignment to do another assignment. It meant Natasha left without saying good-bye to Clint. When Clint doesn't see Natasha for the next two days, he starts to worry. What happens when the news of a helicopter crash is aired and reports Natasha was in the helicopter when it crashed.
6) Clint is a cowboy who has adopted a daughter who is seventeen. Natasha who is a famous singer ends up getting lost and come to Clint's Ranch to get some help. Clint doesn't know Natasha is famous singer and he treats him like a regular person. When Clint's daughter gets home he finds out who Natasha really is. Natasha ends up giving Clint tickets to her concert for that night. Will Steve go or will he let this chance pass him by?

- Natasha's relationship with honesty and playing pretend, on and off the job.
Yes please: My main vice is hurt/comfort, but that's not a requirement, just a preference. My favorite in that regard is road to recovery stuff. I don't particularly care from what -- psychological trauma, difficult mission, a psychical injury, whatever -- but I love fic that focuses on the actual process of ~dealing with stuff. I'm more on the angsty side of the scale, I like character-driven fic, back story, slow burn, and stuff that just generally focuses on the connections between the characters. I really like the kind of canon-ish AU that plays with the characters and shifts them a little, makes them a bit darker or just plain different or changes their world and circumstances just slightly. I like magical realism (wingfic, soulmates AU, that kinda thing) and I love friends to lovers and casual sex turning to more, but also enemies to loves and the conflict that brings. Casual intimacy is a big one, I loooove that stuff. I like apocafic and mission fic. If you do smut, things I'm particularly into in fic are fingering (either party), oral sex, rough and spur-of-the-moment sex and pain play. Also, I prefer experimental kink and exploration of kinky leanings over full-blown, developed kink, and either way, I'd rather it be femdom.
No thank you: No Rule 63, no crossovers/fusions, no fluff, no mention of marriage or proposals unless it's canon, no kidfic or domesticity. As for kinks, no watersports or scat, no rimming, no A/B/O and related kinks, no mpreg. I'm okay with AUs, both canon and setting, but please no High School or College AU and nothing in a historical setting too far back. No non-con involving female characters or any sort of character bashing. Also, as for additional characters, I'm a bit overfed on Coulson and I really don't like Loki as a character (possession aftereffects are more than fine, though). And while I'm reading a bunch of the comics, I don't really ship them in the comics and I'd rather not have MCU and comics mixed in fic. Like, some background is okay (orphan, deaf, circus, that stuff), but no Clint living in that apartment building in Bed Stuy, no having a dog named Lucky or cat named Liho, no backstory with Bucky for Natasha, no Kate, no Barney, no Bobbi or Jess as exes, and so on. Crossovers with Agents of SHIELD are totally fine though. Not a fan of first person POV, but I love well-done second person. Any comics fic I'd like to be strictly comics with no references to the movies whatsoever.

EIGHT

Basically, I just want a fic about what happened to our assassins since we got no scenes with them and they didn't interact at all in the movie. Feel free to go wild. :)

3) Natasha, Laura and Clint go on the run with his family after Ross finds out about Clint's "secret" life. A snippet of their life on the run combined with slices of life, maybe? (Your choice on whether or not they're romantically involved or just Clint/Laura married with Natasha as a friend.)

I LOVE Laura Barton and want her involved always, so if you're going for "forget canon", I'd prefer it to entirely be an AU.
NINE

Prompts: [1] SHIELD's version of hazing is telling every new recruit that they have 48 hours to create a viable plan to take down the Black Widow. Clint's is the first one that actually succeeds. (Alternatively, new recruits have to fight the Black Widow, if you'd rather write after Nat joins SHIELD.)[2] As part of her SHIELD rehabilitation and/or therapy, Natasha is required to take up an instrument. She is uniformly terrible. [3] 5 holidays Clint introduces to Natasha (+1 she introduces to him????) [4] Escalating prank war, possibly ending in some significant relationship moment?? I really like them negotiating their relationship: there is a certain power dynamic: Clint made a choice, but so did Natasha. I am okay with a bit of angst and or character death. I like them being friends first and foremost, like they've been through some shit together, and they'll always have that, and everything builds from there.
No thank you:No werewolves, vampires, ABO, mpreg, extreme amounts of smut in comparison to story, no putting down other characters to make others look good, no fridging, miscommunication and second hand embarrassment are huge squicks for me.

Yes please: Team fic! I love team fic, so please include any characters you like, including ones from Agents of SHIELD or the comics (this includes Liho and Lucky!). I love gen and friendship fic as much as I love shippy fic. I also fully support threesomes. I like banter and humor, and angst is very welcome, too. I’m into trust and loyalty and also misunderstandings and miscommunication that eventually gets worked out. Love AUs, crossovers, fusions, and various tropes like curtainfic, fake dating/marriage, found families, friends to lovers, seemingly unrequited pining, presumed dead, trapped together. I am happy with any rating and I love all sorts of fic, from plotty mission type fic to romance to character studies to groups of characters just chilling together.
No thank you: mpreg, non-con, A/B/O, incest, character/ship bashing, character death for the explicit purpose of freeing up a character romantically, infidelity (but open sort of relationships are fine so long as all parties are agreed), babies/pregnancy/childbirth (Clint’s kids are completely fine, I just don’t want any non-canon babies or fic heavily focused on pregnancy and babies, and absolutely no childbirth)
Canon Preference: no preference! I’m not overly keen on Civil War but even then I’m okay with referencing it or dealing with the emotional fallout, would just prefer nothing dwelling on the movie
FOURTEEN

Prompts: 1. A friends-to-lovers Christmas-themed fic (hint: maybe they're on a mission, maybe they're not, but one of them finally finds the perfect opportunity to present the other with a gift they've had for quite some time); 2. Fluffy team-as-family fic (hint: the Avengers have a grand plan to get their two favorite assassins to admit their feelings for one another, not realizing that they're the ones being played); 3. An expression of feelings happens in the most unlikely of places and/or situations and they keep getting interrupted or derailed as they try to "act" on those newly-admitted feelings; 4. Christmas at the farmhouse or New Years at the Tower - one of them catches the other one singing or playing piano (exceptionally well) and this leads to a discussion of "things you actually don't know about me" which leads to, you guessed it, confessions of feelings. 5. Yes please: I love the movies and the comics, feel free to include characters/story lines from either. I'm a fan of the Avengers team as family - the more snarky banter, the better. I do feel strongly that -- even in the fluffiest of scenarios -- Clint and Nat have to stay in character. And speaking of fluff: yes, please. Hurt/comfort is great, but I need a happy ending (sure, that kind, too, if you're so inclined). Keep it as light and upbeat as possible (realizing that we're dealing with avenging assassins…)

Canon Preference: No offense to Laura (and Bruce, I suppose), but I'm here for Clintasha. Everything up to AoU is canon to me, after that - I'm off the rails. The other characters from those films are welcome in my world, but I'm firmly in Camp Clintasha.

2. Avengers domestic hijinks. The team is perfectly capable of saving the world together, but when it comes to community fridge management or who used the last of the toilet paper, they just might kill one another. You choose whether this is the original team or the new one, I'll love either!
3. Anything about Natasha and/or her relationships post Civil War. Could be about her and Clint, or her and Steve, or Tony, or really anyone. I just want all the fic about where Nat is now, and what her headspace is like, and what she's doing.
4. An AU in which Clint doesn't get out of the Raft when Steve jail breaks everybody else. Now it's a year (or more) later, and he's finally being released after a long, drawn out legal struggle.

2) Clint was sixteen when his family died in a car crash. He was the only one who made it out alive. Clint’s English teacher Phil Coulson has agreed to be his legal guardian until he is eighteen. Clint is okay with this arrangement. His life continued. He meets Natasha Romanoff when he returns back to school. They start to hang out and they became friends. What will happen when Clint finds out Natasha was the one who killed his family?
3) Clint Barton is a solider along with his two best friends Steve Rogers and James Barnes. Steve meets Natasha Romanoff who is a nurse in the military. Steve and James meet Peggy Cater and Samantha Regan (you original character, use another name if you want) who is a nurse also and happens to be Natasha’s best friend. What will happen to them when War world 3 starts? Who will make it in the end?
4) Natasha is a college professor who teaches English. Clint is one of her students. There is a writing contest and Natasha encourage her student to enter. Clint signed up but as he write more on the story the more he feels like it's not good enough for the contest. Clint ends up throwing away a page of the story in the classroom trash before he leaves. Natasha ends up reading the page and she encourage the writer of the page to see her after class. Natasha meets Clint and she helps Clint to polish the story before submitting it.
5) Clint is going to run the triathlon. Natasha is a news report who is doing a story about a few of the participants. They haven't seen each other for years. Natasha recognize him and they start to talk. Natasha's boss takes her off the assignment to do another assignment. It meant Natasha left without saying good-bye to Clint. When Clint doesn't see Natasha for the next two days, he starts to worry. What happens when the news of a helicopter crash is aired and reports Natasha was in the helicopter when it crashed.
6) Clint is a cowboy who has adopted a daughter who is seventeen. Natasha who is a famous singer ends up getting lost and come to Clint's Ranch to get some help. Clint doesn't know Natasha is famous singer and he treats him like a regular person. When Clint's daughter gets home he finds out who Natasha really is. Yes please: My main vice is hurt/comfort, but that's not a requirement, just a preference. My favorite in that regard is road to recovery stuff. I don't particularly care from what -- psychological trauma, difficult mission, a psychical injury, whatever -- but I love fic that focuses on the actual process of ~dealing with stuff. I'm more on the angsty side of the scale, I like character-driven fic, back story, slow burn, and stuff that just generally focuses on the connections between the characters. I really like the kind of canon-ish AU that plays with the characters and shifts them a little, makes them a bit darker or just plain different or changes their world and circumstances just slightly. I like magical realism (wingfic, soulmates AU, that kinda thing) and I love friends to lovers and casual sex turning to more, but also enemies to loves and the conflict that brings. Casual intimacy is a big one, I loooove that stuff. I like apocafic and mission fic. If you do smut, things I'm particularly into in fic are fingering (either party), oral sex, rough and spur-of-the-moment sex and pain play. Also, I prefer experimental kink and exploration of kinky leanings over full-blown, developed kink, and either way, I'd rather it be femdom.
