It's all go with the Bingo Challenge and AU Exchange, but it wouldn't be summer without THE EPIC SUMMER PROMPTATHON! Yep, it's that time of year again. ARE YOU READY?!
Just before we get started we have some info and rules we’d like you to read…
HOW PROMPTATHON 2020 WORKS
Step One: Leave Prompts
Prompts can be anything – simple or elaborate, words or pictures, songs or poems, lyrics or phrases, anything that inspires a fanwork. Use your imagination. Go wild!
We welcome ALL THINGS MARVEL, although we do like it if Natasha and/or Clint is in there somewhere, individually or as friends, lovers, spouses, partners, in gen fic, ANYTHING. That means we do welcome other characters and pairings (and threesomes or moresomes).
Leave as many prompts as you want. We’re serious. Keep coming back. We want as many prompts as we can possibly get. Just make sure each prompt is in a separate comment.
Step Two: Squee
Been wanting to jump into the fandom but not sure where to start? Now’s the time. Newbie or a lurker? Here’s the perfect opportunity to say hello! Promptathon is a fun, no-pressure environment. If all you want to do is post prompts and share in the squee, you’re more than welcome! And by squee we mean chatting in the chat thread, replying to prompts to chat about prompts, and just lots of excitement all over the place.
Step Three: submit fanworks like there’s no tomorrow!
The usual Community Rules apply. There’s no length requirement on fanworks submitted. You can create drabbles or epics, vids, art, fanmixes, anything at all; it’s just all about getting creative! You can fill as many prompts as you want, and prompts can be filled multiple times by whoever wants to fill them.
HOW TO POST FILLS
1. Respond in a comment to the prompt you are filling. Please post the entire work in the comment if it's short enough OR post a link, and consider posting the first section as a teaser. Please don't post works directly to the comm - we’re all about one-stop shopping, so keep everything in this main promptathon post. We'll do a masterlist of fills at the end.
2. Label your fill/comment in the subject line with 'FILL', your title, and a rating. Example: FILL: 5 Times Clint and Natasha Were Awesome (PG) When filling in the subject line, you may need to view the comm in its original style (if you don't already). Just make sure you can see a subject line when responding with your submission. This makes it A LOT easier for us to make that masterlist and for people to spot your fills.
3. Make sure to include a rating and warnings OR 'choose not to warn' at the start of your fill, as per the comm rules. Help us out and make sure folks know what they're clicking on :)
4. Please put anything NSFW behind a cut or link.
TIMELINE
TODAY: Prompting starts! GO, GO, GO
SUNDAY 2nd AUGUST: We open for fills! (You can also continue prompting)
UPDATED: MIDNIGHT FRIDAY 25 SEPTEMBER: Promptathon, both prompts and fills, ends at midnight in whatever your timezone is PROMPTATHON IS CLOSED!

Clint: So now I'm supposed to do anything that Natasha does? What if she jumped off a cliff?
Fury: If Romanoff were to jump off a cliff, she would have done her due diligence regarding the height of the cliff, the depth of the water, and the angle of entry
Fury: So yes, if you see Romanoff jump off a cliff, by all means, jump off a cliff.

FILL: Curiosity killed the cat... [G, warnings for Endgame angst (no character death tho), unbeta'd]
The guardian gestures to the cliff and suddenly the howling that he'd previously thought was just wind is loud. So loud that he can't only be hearing it with his aids without being blown out. It's in his mind, as well.
Nat levels him with a look.
"No--" he starts,
He runs after her, but as always, isn't quite fast enough.
The only thing louder than the howling filling his ears, his head, is the thundering of his heart in his chest.
He dives off the cliff after her. He anchors one end of his grapple arrow in the cliffside and aims the other end down. They slam into the rocks, bound together.
"Nat please…"
The rope can't be more than 20 feet long but she's so far and his fingers are barely hanging onto the rope in favor of feeling her one last time,
"Remember what Fury said about cliffs?"
She's smiling up at him, eyes bright and he can't remember- he can't think.
"Cliffs and me?" she presses,
She's trying to tell him something but he can't figure it out.
"Clint." she says,
It's a tone when he has to be on board with a plan before she'll go any further. Something about it kicks his brain into gear though,
"The day on the bridge," he says finally, voice hoarse,
Nat nods. And doesn't give him any warning before cutting herself loose.
Clint doesn't remember his trip down the rest of the cliff. But when he's back on solid ground, there's a small pool and no Nat and the guardian's voice telling him that the price for the stone has been paid. The yellow stone is warm like someone's lifeblood spilling across his hands.
He stumbles away from the pool. Back to the ship.
He cries when Natasha wraps her arms around him. Doesn't even acknowledge when he lets the stone drop to the ground like he can't stand to hold onto it for another second.
"We have all the time we need," she's saying gently,
Over and over. Until he can finally hold onto her, as well,
"'If Romanoff jumps off a cliff she probably has a damn good reason'," Clint quotes, "in my defense, the second part was: 'so if she jumps off a cliff, by all means follow her.'"
Natasha's low laugh in his ear is the first thing that chases the howling away.
FILL: ...but satisfaction brought it back [G, mild Endgame angst, unbeta'd]
Then Natasha starts stretching of all things,
"You might want to…" she gestures to indicate him joining her,
Clint narrows his eyes at her. But the nature of their partnership compels him to follow her.
"Okay, ready?"
"No! You haven't--"
But she doesn't let him finish, taking a few long steps before diving off the edge. Clint curses, and tries to not scream as he follows her down.
When Clint opens his eyes, the Red Skull is standing above him. His whole body hurts. His organs hurt, he's pretty sure. There's a sloshing to his left and it takes a significant amount of his energy to locate the sound. Natasha is next to him. It takes a moment for him to confirm it was her who had moved a moment ago. Nat looks for him as soon as she opens her eyes.
It feels slightly less painful to breathe after that.
"That was certainly unexpected," the guardian says, "However… a life was certainly given. And it seems the soul stone has deemed you passed the trial."
Where he gestures between them, the stone is waiting. The guardian dematerializes. As the last shred of his cloak disappears on the wind, Natasha bursts out laughing.
"'If Romanoff jumps off a cliff'…" he starts,
"'Then by all means follow her'," Natasha finishes the quote for him,
They'd adopted it as their official team motto when Fury finally bowed to Clint's inane needling sometime early in their partnership.
"Can't say I expected that to become so literal," Natasha groans as she slowly pulls herself to her feet,
"Let's not make a habit of it," Clint grimaces as Natasha pulls him upright with her.
