It's all go with the Bingo Challenge and AU Exchange, but it wouldn't be summer without THE EPIC SUMMER PROMPTATHON! Yep, it's that time of year again. ARE YOU READY?!
Just before we get started we have some info and rules we’d like you to read…
HOW PROMPTATHON 2020 WORKS
Step One: Leave Prompts
Prompts can be anything – simple or elaborate, words or pictures, songs or poems, lyrics or phrases, anything that inspires a fanwork. Use your imagination. Go wild!
We welcome ALL THINGS MARVEL, although we do like it if Natasha and/or Clint is in there somewhere, individually or as friends, lovers, spouses, partners, in gen fic, ANYTHING. That means we do welcome other characters and pairings (and threesomes or moresomes).
Leave as many prompts as you want. We’re serious. Keep coming back. We want as many prompts as we can possibly get. Just make sure each prompt is in a separate comment.
Step Two: Squee
Been wanting to jump into the fandom but not sure where to start? Now’s the time. Newbie or a lurker? Here’s the perfect opportunity to say hello! Promptathon is a fun, no-pressure environment. If all you want to do is post prompts and share in the squee, you’re more than welcome! And by squee we mean chatting in the chat thread, replying to prompts to chat about prompts, and just lots of excitement all over the place.
Step Three: submit fanworks like there’s no tomorrow!
The usual Community Rules apply. There’s no length requirement on fanworks submitted. You can create drabbles or epics, vids, art, fanmixes, anything at all; it’s just all about getting creative! You can fill as many prompts as you want, and prompts can be filled multiple times by whoever wants to fill them.
HOW TO POST FILLS
1. Respond in a comment to the prompt you are filling. Please post the entire work in the comment if it's short enough OR post a link, and consider posting the first section as a teaser. Please don't post works directly to the comm - we’re all about one-stop shopping, so keep everything in this main promptathon post. We'll do a masterlist of fills at the end.
2. Label your fill/comment in the subject line with 'FILL', your title, and a rating. Example: FILL: 5 Times Clint and Natasha Were Awesome (PG) When filling in the subject line, you may need to view the comm in its original style (if you don't already). Just make sure you can see a subject line when responding with your submission. This makes it A LOT easier for us to make that masterlist and for people to spot your fills.
3. Make sure to include a rating and warnings OR 'choose not to warn' at the start of your fill, as per the comm rules. Help us out and make sure folks know what they're clicking on :)
4. Please put anything NSFW behind a cut or link.
TIMELINE
TODAY: Prompting starts! GO, GO, GO
SUNDAY 2nd AUGUST: We open for fills! (You can also continue prompting)
UPDATED: MIDNIGHT FRIDAY 25 SEPTEMBER: Promptathon, both prompts and fills, ends at midnight in whatever your timezone is PROMPTATHON IS CLOSED!

FILL: Happy Birthday, Clint Barton! (And Alistra!)
Kate is ready to stamp her foot in frustration, but Natasha is not fazed.
“How long have you known him? You’ve obviously never seen him at the Ritz, slugging back a whole bed’s worth of oysters.”
“Oysters?” Kate gives Natasha the side eye. “Bed? Little enlightened self-interest here, hmmh? Or was that just a Freudian slip?”
Natasha rolls her eyes.
“I didn’t mean oysters, literally,” she huffs. “I meant to tell you that he secretly thrives on the finer things, given the opportunity. Besides, it’s June. No oysters, not even metaphorical ones.”
She flips through something on her phone. The Black Widow googles?
“Maybe we should get some topnotch catering service, like … the Kitchen at Shale Farm. The chef there used to have a Michelin…”
“If Clint sees the word ‘Farm’ on any of the packaging, he’ll turn that Michelin star into a comet. Maybe I haven’t known him as long as you have, but I do know that. Maybe a barbecue on the roof? It’s not supposed to rain for at least a week, thanks to all those fossil fuel addicts.”
Kate crosses her arms triumphantly in front of her chest as she watches Natasha frown, trying to find some flaw in the idea. Honestly? This is getting a wee bit annoying. She’d made the mistake of mentioning her idea of throwing Clint a surprise birthday party to his newly-rekindled-old-flame, and now the woman wants to take over. That’ll be absolutely, definitely the last time Kate will play yenta for anyone, especially a couple of lethal A-type personalities.
First, Natasha had nixed the tacky garland idea: “Completely destroys the sight lines, plus you’d never get any arrows off”. Just who was she expecting to crash the party, Victor von Doom and his army of bots?
Then she’d insisted on bringing her cat over for the planning session. “We’ll have to see how they get along some day. Might as well have a dry run?” That had gone about as well as could be expected, what with Lucky peeing on the couch to mark his ground, and Liho now growling at everyone from the top of the curtain rod (and let us not mention the fate of the curtain she'd used to get up there, although that’s probably okay because Clint had never liked them anyway).
Now, it’s the food. Lord knows what will happen when they get to the guest list…
As if on cue, Natasha wrinkles her nose, which would be almost adorable if she such a lethal pain in the ass.
“So who should we invite? And how many? Clint has a lot of friends.” Natasha sounds a lot more chipper than Kate feels. But points for consulting, not issuing an Executive Order. “Starting with the tenants, and the parts of SHIELD that weren’t Hydra.”
“Thor!” Kate says, perhaps a little too hastily, but she’s never met the guy, and staring at a hunky Norse God for a couple of hours seems like a good way to test whether she’s completely gay, or possibly the teensiest bit bi. Unless America gets the night off and can come, in which case that probably won’t work.
Natasha shakes her head decisively.
“You put Thor on that roof, chances are he’ll break through the moment he lands,” she says, “even if he’s lost weight by now. Besides, you’d have to order an extra keg of beer just for him. Which reminds me, what’s our budget?”
Budget? Shit. Kate had hoped that bringing the Widow on board would come with a Platinum card or a box of gold bars, since she’s just bought a new bow.
Of course, Natasha can smell Kate’s panic pheromones from across the room.
“No budget? I thought your father… Oh, well, that changes things. Hot dogs and beer it is, then.”
Double shit. Looks like they’re both broke. For some reason, that makes Kate indignant.
“You guys saved the world, what, six times at least, and you don’t even have a Nike endorsement? How can that be?”
Natasha shrugs.
“Congress froze all my assets under the Sokovia Accords, and they haven’t gotten around to thawing them yet. I mean I can make do, but… no Michelin stars until I can get to the Caymans.”
Kate doesn’t want to know what’s in the Caymans, probably proceeds of the Widow’s early life. It’s time for lateral thinking.
“You know, we could find a way to lure Clint to the Tower and have it there,” she says slowly. “Stark wouldn't notice which party he’s paying for, would he?”
Natasha breaks into a slow smile.
“Nope, especially if we invite Banner and send them off to the lab, then he’ll think the whole thing was his idea. Plus, Pepper has a chef who can do a full kayseki as well as cheeseburgers. And the best thing…”
They look at each other, in perfect harmony now, and speak as one.
“No after-action clean-up!”
