Did you actually get a notification of the gift fic that was FOR you when it was revealed? Because I don't think I did? I did complete a text box option for a message to go out with notifications and I'm wondering if that went wrong. I did get email notifications of new fics from authors i'm subscribed to though once their fics were revealed.
For timescales, yeah that's a problem. Previously we had a nice anonymity period on DW, then the boost of the masterlist after reveals, and then posted fresh on AO3 or other places. This time the fics were older on AO3 by the time they were revealed. Other options would be to reveal fics and authors at the same time, either all on one day or one or two a day for a week - would people miss the anon comment period?
There would always have to be at least a week after submissions before any kind of reveals though because pinch hitters need time to work. Hmm is it possible to change the release date of a fic, like if you submit on Dec 11 once it was revealed on say Dec 16 could the author change the fic posting date to Dec 16, and would it then show up as a new work???
