Secret Santa Beta Readers Post

Hello, all! The Secret Santa submission deadline is fast approaching.

So, here is your post for beta readers.

BETA READERS: are first readers for fics or first viewers for other creative works, handy from helping to spot mistakes to technical support to creative support.

If you don't already have a beta and you want one, this post is intended to help you find one.

Here are the people who have volunteered to beta:

If you're on this list, feel free to comment on this post with your preferred style of betaing -- do you proofread for spelling and grammar? Help with plot/character or overall style? All of the above? You may also want to post the best way to get in touch with you.

If you're looking for a beta, feel free to reply to this post also, or contact these people by their preferred means.

Any questions? I'm here to facilitate and help this go as smoothly as possible. Have at it!

Howdy! I'm happy to help however the author likes, though grammar is not my strongest skill. Happy to take anything from anyone! Just email me at slipsthrufingers@gmail.com either a file or a google docs link and I'll do what I can to turn it around quickly!

Hi! I've never "beta'd" before (so be gentle), but I do a fair amount of editing in my professional life. If you'd like me to read for grammar, sentence structure, and continuity -- happy to do it. If you are looking for an idea or stuck on a story line, I'm also happy to talk you through it and help you find your way back. You can e-mail me at bettybackinthedaylevel7@gmail.com and I'll get you a response as soon as possible.

Yello!

As far as betaing goes, I can do most things though I'm by no means a professional. I'm not great at spelling myself but am pretty good at spotting mistakes that ruin the flow of reading. I can be as heavy handed (or not) as you want and am willing to flail/cheerlead/brainstorm as (and if) needed/wanted. :D

I am also willing to beta and not in the secret santa so there is no risk of me spoiling anything. I can help with anything, plot, character development, spelling, or grammar.

My biggest strengths are grammar, spelling and finding plot/character inconsistencies. I'm happy to help talk you out of a plot hole/off the ledge.

And as I am not involved in Secret Santa, I have no stake in this except to help and enjoy all the marvelous things everyone creates.

I can be reached at paksiegurlie 200 at yahoo dot com. (no spaces obviously)

My preferred format is Word since it is very easy to red pencil and leave comments why-plus suggests changes in flow that are off to the side-but I can work with any format/google docs, etc.

I'm up for helping out however the author needs, from grammar and spelling, to filling in holes and bouncing ideas off of. I'm also proficient in Russian, if anyone wants translation work done.

Word docs are best. My email is kizmetquinn @ yahoo. com

I can do grammar, spelling, narrative logic and character voice/consistency. Plus, I can provide a bit of a reality check if you're doing a mission fic or anything that is set in the world of security, armed conflict, terrorism and transnational crime. ( Whoa, you say -- for Christmas???? Well, it's been done, besides, these guys are assassins for a covert agency, right? ;-) )

ETA: I can be reached at alphaflyer1 @ google dot com. My favourite MO is MS Word and track changes, and I'd need an undertaking of non-disclosure regarding the inevitable RL footprint that comments leave behind. :-)

I could use a beta reader initially to bounce a few ideas off of then to check my story for consistency and grammar if anyone could help me out?
