Fic I've Chosen To Remix: "Innocence"
Summary: Natasha, picking up the pieces.
In i_llbedammned's story "Innocence" (link above), Natasha reflects on her blood-stained past and on the role Clint plays in her present. It ends with Natasha recalling, “… the times when they just met in his shitty apartment and ate dinner together. The pain would just melt away into warmth. Maybe this was what innocence felt like.” I liked the idea of Clint’s place providing Natasha with an emotional anchor, and decided to explore this in the context of the events of CA:TWS.
This story is a companion piece to "Safe House" and "Recurve". Note that this apartment is not the Hawkguy place in Brooklyn, but rather my head canon one from my story “The Skies Over Manhattan”, which I started to write long before I ever picked up a comic.
Thanks are due to inkvoices and
franztastisch for early brainstorming and cheerleading, and to Franzi for the beta. Any mistakes that have crept in since are my own. Thanks also to
sugar_fey for organizing the exchange!
