I now want all the fanfiction with Clint and Maria as friends. it makes sense that all the former Shield would hang onto each other more and if Clint knows/ figured about Coulson, I could see him asking Maria for updates. we already know that Maria has gotten really close with Pepper.

Unless they decide that Clint and Maria have had a thing before since they seemed to have given his Bobbi comic book story to Lance. I'm still a little sad about that, but at least give us some Clintasha from it.

I AM SO HAPPY THEY FINALLY SHOWED THIS SCENE. AND I LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT IT. CASUAL ASSASSINS IN CASUAL CLOTHES AND BEING SNARKY AND NATASHA BEING SNARKY AND I HAVE SO MANY FEELINGS. I wish they hadn't cut Clint lifting the hammer but at least I know it'll be back in for the film (they also cut Bruce, so at least it's not JUST a Clint thing...)

It's really sad how just getting more Clint and Natasha make me so happy. It's been so long.

Also him and Maria. I have so many headcanons about his relationship with Hill and now my brain is going crazy.

Well, my head canon is that after the collapse of SHIELD, Maria becomes sort of a collection/contact point for all the loyal agents drifting around, and channels them towards Stark Industries which is surreptitiously taking on the task of global protection. ~~Which then of course seems to go wrong a wee bit via Ultron.~~

Before the fall, she and Clint developed a grudging respect, but she always hated his ways of going off protocol whenever it suited him, while he thinks she's a bit of a tightass. But there is always that respect for someone who does the job loyally and well, and is fundamentally a Good Person.

Yep, that makes perfect sense. She's a known entity to so many, she has to be, and I guess the type of person who worked for SHIELD in the first place won't just shrug and get a janitor's job instead. Actual SHIELD has gone underground and is getting a bad rep, so going where Maria went has to look like a good alternative in that case.

ME TOO. Also ohhhh my headcanons lol. I have this whole headcanon that her and Clint kind of jokingly hate each other, though they don't really HATE each other, more like a mutual brother-sister affection where Clint constantly disobeys her orders and is late for meetings and mocks up his meeting reports and pisses her off and Maria loves to spar verbally with him, because he's sharp and bone-headed at the same time. And it's a different relationship than Fury because she's comfortable with Fury but they're equals in superiority, and different than Natasha because Nat is a woman and she can be more open with her, but Clint is like her little brother and she respects him but she also gives him a hard time. But they have fun together, and they're comfortable with each other in the way most people aren't. And because of that, Hill knows more about Strike Team Delta than most people.

Also, in non-Clint head canon news, Maria is close with Bobbi (since before she married Clint) and turned Bobbi onto gin and tonics one time during a mission.

I feel a "Five Times Maria Hill Told Clint ..." coming on ...

Maybe for those trick or treaters ...
