ok, sometimes canon's good

Well, I just ranted in the other thread about how I like to pretend that comic book canon doesn't exist, because it messes with my OTP, but seeing this on Tumblr today I have to admit it can sometimes be OK.

I need to see this live action, please.

So I can't help but notice that this came out in 2011, so it would have been before the movie craziness, but they probably would have started/finished? filing and so they would have known what the new costumes were going to look like. And maybe took the time to throw some story ideas in there too...

... but maybe it also means that was kind of always the end game? maybe? pls?

So...was just looking online (because I'm dogged like that), and Marvel has the pub date for this specific issue as July 11, 2012. So I take that to mean it hasn't actually hit shelves yet? I think it's just that the SERIES started in 2011, which is why it's "Avengers Assemble (2011)".

It seems like a good thing to me that future/current comics have the two of them together... *hopes*

Oh man, it hasn't even hit the street yet. So if the cover is any indication we are going to have some good stuff to spec over. Debating over what may or may not get transferred to MCU. What is our lives?!

VERY interesting. Okay so now you've got me searching down clues and here's what I found on Marvel wiki:

http://marvel.com/comic_books/browse/comic_series/15373/avengers_assemble_2011_-_present

.... and i looks like Thanos is a part of this storyline too. So now I'm seriously wondering if this is going to have any kind of movie implciations. Or maybe it's just enough that in the movieverse comics (for lack of a better term), there is legit Masster Assissins kissin' going on.

We may need to get this issues when it comes out. For, um, research.

Oooh, Brian Michael Bendis wrote it. I seem to remember liking his stuff back when i was buying comics.

Saw this description of #1:

• The Avengers Versus The *Brand-New* Zodiac! • One Of The Greatest Avengers Villains Of All Time Gets Reinvented For The Modern Age Just In Time For The Blockbuster Movie Event Of The Summer! • A Perfect Jumping-On Point Featuring The Cast Of The Summer Blockbuster But In Marvel Universe Continuity!

That last line...so it's the movie cast but with their comic history still? But whatever, I'm excited BW/H are clearly a thing in a series that's tied to the movies at least a little.

This + those Cap2 rumors makes me think there is a plan of aome sort for our kids.
