ATTF: Sexual Tension

Hello, dear bar!

It's Friday again and today we're going to talk about sex! (Yes, you heard me right. Don't look at me with that tone of voice.)


This week's ATTF theme is Unresolved Sexual Tension (UST) and how it may or may not become Resolved Sexual Tension (RST) for our favorite assassins. Hopefully with nobody innocent getting killed in the process. Do you have a head canon about how Clint and Natasha had sex for the first time? Was there instant chemistry/UST as soon as they met, or did it take a while for them to want one another? Were they already in a relationship the first time they had sex, or were they doin' it long before any emotions were disclosed? What are your favorite kinks for them?

(Natasha will know if you do, and she will not be pleased.) This is supposed to be fun, so go wild!

Things to remember:

1. Always label NSFW (Not Safe For Work) stuff in the title and post under a cut. If it's a comment, label NSFW in the subject line of the comment. Although I'm going to guess a lot of this discussion will be NSFW.


2. Fic and artwork needs to have a rating and warnings (or you can say that you’ve chosen not to use warnings). With this topic please be especially mindful of using warnings or being explicitly clear that you've chosen not to warn. Remember that one person's kink could be another person's trigger.


3. For people with annoying internet connections, say in the title if a comment is graphic/images/gif-heavy and post picspams under a cut.


4. Have a damn good time! (Because if that’s not happening then this post has clearly failed.)

Okay, I have a head cold and can barely (a) swallow and (b) think straight. I keep looking at this, trying to be original, and maybe after I'd had some sleep I might be able to come up with a mini-ficlet that fits one of the squares. But for now all I can think of to score a 'bingo' is to do what amounts to self-reccing. Now, when you do it once, in one of these ATTF things, people smile indulgently and move on. But four times?? That's beginning to look suspiciously like eye-roll-worthy self-promotion ...

I guess I won't play, then ...

But okay, head canon. Which of course exists because I stuck it into my fics ... So I'll mention them at the end of each square.

(1) Twinges of UST at first meeting -- Man, she's gorgeous. And she seems kind of ... interested too. So Clint, of course, proceeds to ask himself is THAT why I let her live ...?? (Because obviously, it's what everybody will think!) (In the Service -- Three Times Hawkeye Questions His Orders, And One Time He Doesn't, Chapter 2

(2) UST mission fic! SHIELD's safe houses tend to suck, and then someone forgets to pay the heating bill. Or the landlord is corrupt and just pockets the money, since hardly anyone ever comes to stay anyway. Cue freezing winter storm plus absence of booze equals bed sharing (body heat!). Nothing happens, because ... Coulson gets there earlier than expected. Of course. (Warmth)

(3) RST author's choice: Post-New York leveling out. Realizing exactly what Loki did when he became "personal" as regards the two of them; claiming back what he sought to take away. (Going to Ground)

(4) RST Holy Shit We're Alive! There's an adrenaline spike at the end of a mission, particularly the ones that kind of sucked, that simply needs to be taken down the Old Fashioned Way. (Bandaids/Not A Victory March ).

So my all time favorite UST category is the training one. Two spies, two assassins, working themselves to death, and then one of them touches the other and it's just electric. I could read all the training fic, all the time.

Here be the things I enjoy! Forced domesticity (because you can stand sharing the same apartment or room with guy/girl until you finally give in), hurt/comfort, blowing off steam... and yeah I looove firts time fics. I had them meet prior to SHIELD and Natasha's recruitment in one of my fics (the one I should finish), and they spent a night together for pure fun. They connected too, and it was based on "I like this other human being, I choose to do this with him/her, I am enjoying this and myself and other person". Now they've met again, in different circumstances and I think it's a matter of moment when they'll reach for each other again - for connection, comfort, blowing off the steam, name it. And then I have entire series about growing intimacy through sexual encounters. And just lots of fics where they do it, for one reason or another.

This calls for a ficlet! *ponders*

I don' thave a strict headcanon, it basically wanders depending on what fic I read at the time, but I really want more from the movies hinting at what happened between them.

I think what is most interesting to me, although I don't see this often in fic (I don't think?) is that it took some time for them to grow closer together. I think Natasha's mind during joining up with SHIELD, meeting everyone, learning how this huge agency operates (and how its different from the Red Room) is fascinating. So I'm thinking while she may or may not have been focused on Clint at this time, it probably wasn't "Lets start a relationship" right away.

There was actually a fic that I read that talked about her starting out (and I can't remember anything else that happened in the fic) that was kinda unusual b/c basically Clint brought her in, and then left on a mission for 6 months. It was just something I never considered but if this was "real life" (you know, as much as comic book movies are lol), something like that could have totally happened. Or he was married/dating someone else at the time, or she was focused on Agent Ward (lol, probably not), who knows?

But somehow, at some point, they become each other's entire worlds. And have lots of awesome sex. And then she starts wearing an arrow necklace because they have to mix in adorableness with being deadly assassins.

I agree, I don't really have a static headcanon either, although I do have a main one.

I also like the idea of it taking some time, and wrote it that way in my own 'first meeting' fic. I actually haven't written much established relationship fic at all for them yet.

Also, I'm currently toying with the idea that in my MCU fic 'verse, Clint dated, married, and divorced Bobbi all between bringing Natasha in and the events of the movie. I think I'm going to have to fic that. :)
