Promptathon 2014

The Good Ship C/N Promptathon
of Magic and Joy: Round 3

Break out the confetti canons!!

RULES ON POSTING SUBMISSIONS
(please read before you post! <3)

The Rules. Just follow these three easy steps!

1. Leave a Prompt.
Prompts can be anything--simple or elaborate, words or pictures, songs or poems, lyrics or phrases. Anything that, to you, inspires a C/N fanwork. Use your imagination. Go WILD. All we ask is that you place anything NSFW under a cut or link, use trigger warnings when appropriate, and place anything spoiler-y under a cut with a warning. As this is a Clint/Natasha promptathon, your prompts and fanworks can include other characters, but the central focus must be on Clint and/or Natasha. If you’re posting large images, please be mindful of members with slower Internet connections and place the image under a cut or link.

And leave as many prompts as you want. I’m serious. Keep coming back, y’all. We want all the prompts we can possibly get Also, be sure to leave each prompt as a separate comment.

2. Wait a week.
Keep leaving prompts and plan your fanworks! This is a time for celebration and creating all of the things. Work hard, shippers.

3. Submit C/N fanwork like there is no tomorrow.
All submissions should either be posted here or linked to this post via a comment. We will make an official post about rules in the time leading up to submissions. Please read it before posting, as responsible partying is to be encouraged at all times.

Timeline

Prompting starts today, August 2nd and will remain open until August 9th. Submissions will start on August 16th, and will remain open until August 31st.  It is, in fact, A WHOLE MONTH OF PROMPTATHON.

If you can’t complete your fanwork by August 31st, that’s okay. You’re still welcome to post your fanwork to the community! However, the promptathon masterlist will only include fanworks from August 16-31.

What we hope to accomplish with all this promptathon-iness:

  • A chance to get in the game. Been wanting to jump into the C/N fanwork scene but not sure where to start? Now’s the time. There’s no length requirement on the works submitted, you can focus on drabbles and vidlets and short and sweet projects (or do longer more epic stuff if that strikes your fancy as well).  It’s really entirely up to you. We’re just hoping to provide a fun, no-pressure environment. If all you want to do is post prompts and share in the squee, that’s fine too!

  • Meet new and awesome people. Newbie or lurker? Here is the perfect opportunity to say hello!

  • Ship like you’ve never shipped before.

If you have any questions, feel free to contact the mod team.

Have fun, everyone. Now fly, my pretties, fly!

SUBMISSIONS ARE NOW CLOSED.

Thanks to everyone who participated!

Fic: Matchmake Heartbreak Chapter 1/4, PG, warning for infidelity/ disloyalty (kinda)

“She’s the love of my life. I just need to figure out a way to propose to her.”

Clint nodded sympathetically at the young woman across the table from him. She was painfully earnest, with mousey blonde hair. She looked thoroughly ordinary, but her history belied her appearance.

“I ran a background check,” he began.

“I ran a background check!” Kate yelled from the front room.

Clint reminded himself to fix the door between the two rooms for the hundredth time. His potential client, a Ms. Pamela Williams, eyed the ancient furniture and faded purple paint in his office with wariness.

I agree with the earlier comments, I like the easy, comfortable feeling in this. And the little touch of spicy at the end -- nice!

Fic: Five Times Natasha Attempted to Seduce Clint (and the first time she succeeded), PG

[identity profile] hufflepuffsneak.livejournal.com 2014-08-18 01:47 am (UTC)(link)
Warning for (offscreen) drugging.

Clint’s hands felt good on the small of her back as he guided her up the stairs to their hotel room. So did the plush carpet under her bare feet. Everything had been feeling good since the mark had managed to inject her with a cocktail of party drugs. It had also felt really good to drive her fist into his throat, she thought dreamily.

“We’re almost there Nat, you’re going to be okay,” Clint whispered in her ear, playing the part of a husband escorting his drunken wife.

Natasha giggled. Of course she was going to be okay. She leaned into Clint in return.

“You smell good,” she whispered back.

Or maybe didn’t whisper. She was having a hard time at figuring out sound at that moment.

Clint shrugged her off as he fished in his jacket for the room key. She put her back to the door, and held the key she had pickpocketed earlier over her head.

Clint tried to grab it from her, but she slid it out of his reach.

“Too slow!” she crowed.

“Natasha, please give me the key,” he said, his voice even.

He got crinkles around his eyes when he was worried. She wanted to kiss those worries away. That gave her an idea.

“Kiss me and I’ll give you the key,” she offered.

Thank you! I'm usually not used to doing first person POV, but this ended up writing itself so I'm glad it worked. :)

Oh Natasha. I want to smack their heads together sometimes.

Fic: I didn't sign up for this shit. PG, no warnings

[identity profile] hufflepuffsneak.livejournal.com 2014-08-18 08:39 am (UTC)(link)
Clint sat on the trunk of the now useless car, watching two kangaroos box. It seemed more like a slap fight to Clint, but who was he to argue with the tourist brochure he had picked up at the airport?

The bigger one was just a touch too slow, and the smaller one landed a solid kick in its midsection. The bigger one ran away, conceding the fight.

Clint raised his water bottle in salute. Score one for the little guy.

Natasha stalked towards him from the only hill in the area, map clenched in one hand, satellite phone in the other.

“SHIELD isn’t coming for another six hours. We’re on our own until then,” she told him.

She was already drenched in sweat. The Australian summer sun beat down on both of them, turning the air slightly orange. Clint considered ordering her to fan him, as he was the senior agent, but decided he liked his intestines on the inside of his body.

“Six hours in a desert. What could go wrong?” he said.

“It’s not a desert. There’s grass, and even trees,” Natasha replied.

The trees she pointed to looked more like glorified bushes.

“Everything is yellow, and there isn’t a town in a day’s walking distance. It’s a fucking desert,” Clint said firmly.

“I’m heading to the trees, to find some shade,” Natasha said. “You’re welcome to come with me.”

She stomped away. Clint could already feel himself bake in the heat coming off the road and the car’s surface. He followed, reluctantly.

Natasha reached the handful of glorified bushes long before Clint. One of the branches began to move, until it was clear he was looking at a brown snake.

“Natasha,” Clint called, attempting to keep his voice calm. “You need to move towards me.”

She crossed her arms and stayed put.

“Last time I took directions from you, I ended up stranded in the middle of nowhere,” she replied.

She froze as she saw movement out of the corner of her eye.

“That’s a snake, isn’t it?” she asked Clint, with the same false calm he was currently feeling.

Clint nodded.

“Probably poisonous,” she added.

Again, Clint nodded. The tourist literature was again coming in handy. According the brochure, almost every animal in the area was poisonous, bar the kangaroos. He wondered if Fury would be mad if Clint let his new favorite spy get eaten by a snake.

She moved towards him, and the snake made no move to attach her.

Clint let out a breath of relief, until he looked down. A snake was coiling around his boot.

Natasha saw the second snake at the same time and stopped, halfway between the bushes and where he was standing.

“Let’s never come back to Australia,” Clint said.

“Agreed,” Natasha replied. “I did not sign up for this shit.”

I researched Australian snakes for this fic. You've forever cured me of the desire to go camping. Or to go outside, really. :P

If you stay in the Sydney area, all you have to deal with a is a couple of deadly poisonous spiders. That's nothing.

"He's evaded ten of my agents. He doesn't trust cops," The FBI Suit said.

He was shifting nervously in front of her. Natasha let just a tinge of disdain cross her features. Hill had already told her she had to take the case, in the interest of interagency cooperation, but the Suit didn't know that.

"Why should I care?" Natasha asked.

"He'd be a challenge, at least," the Suit said.

Natasha reviewed the folder in front of her.

"He really rode a horse to get away from his last set of bodyguards? I thought you said he was a civilian."

"He is. Just a tricky one," the Suit explained.

She let the Suit sweat a little bit, as she leafed over the folder again.

She supposed it would be nice to take a break from guarding slimy diplomats that didn't deserve her protection.

"Fine. I'll take the case," she said.

"Thank you, Agent Romanoff."

"No problem, Agent McSweeten."

Awesome :)

Someone else is welcome to take it and run with it. I have three WIPs to finish before I could add anything else.
