Promptathon 2014

The Good Ship C/N Promptathon
of Magic and Joy: Round 3

Break out the confetti canons!!

RULES ON POSTING SUBMISSIONS
(please read before you post! <3)

The Rules. Just follow these three easy steps!

1. Leave a Prompt.
Prompts can be anything--simple or elaborate, words or pictures, songs or poems, lyrics or phrases. Anything that, to you, inspires a C/N fanwork. Use your imagination. Go WILD. All we ask is that you place anything NSFW under a cut or link, use trigger warnings when appropriate, and place anything spoiler-y under a cut with a warning. As this is a Clint/Natasha promptathon, your prompts and fanworks can include other characters, but the central focus must be on Clint and/or Natasha. If you’re posting large images, please be mindful of members with slower Internet connections and place the image under a cut or link.

And leave as many prompts as you want. I’m serious. Keep coming back, y’all. We want all the prompts we can possibly get Also, be sure to leave each prompt as a separate comment.

2. Wait a week.
Keep leaving prompts and plan your fanworks! This is a time for celebration and creating all of the things. Work hard, shippers.

3. Submit C/N fanwork like there is no tomorrow.
All submissions should either be posted here or linked to this post via a comment. We will make an official post about rules in the time leading up to submissions. Please read it before posting, as responsible partying is to be encouraged at all times.

Timeline

Prompting starts today, August 2nd and will remain open until August 9th. Submissions will start on August 16th, and will remain open until August 31st.  It is, in fact, A WHOLE MONTH OF PROMPTATHON.

If you can’t complete your fanwork by August 31st, that’s okay. You’re still welcome to post your fanwork to the community! However, the promptathon masterlist will only include fanworks from August 16-31.

What we hope to accomplish with all this promptathon-iness:

  • A chance to get in the game. Been wanting to jump into the C/N fanwork scene but not sure where to start? Now’s the time. There’s no length requirement on the works submitted, you can focus on drabbles and vidlets and short and sweet projects (or do longer more epic stuff if that strikes your fancy as well).  It’s really entirely up to you. We’re just hoping to provide a fun, no-pressure environment. If all you want to do is post prompts and share in the squee, that’s fine too!

  • Meet new and awesome people. Newbie or lurker? Here is the perfect opportunity to say hello!

  • Ship like you’ve never shipped before.

If you have any questions, feel free to contact the mod team.

Have fun, everyone. Now fly, my pretties, fly!

SUBMISSIONS ARE NOW CLOSED.

Thanks to everyone who participated!

“We could see a different play, if you don’t critique the actors while we watch,” Clint offered.

“What do you want to see?” Natasha asked.

“There’s a Shakespeare play somewhere in this city, right? That’s old. We should see that.”

Natasha laughed, but stopped when Clint flinched, hurt.

“I’d love to see a play with you. You know Shakespeare was the television of his time? If you listen close enough, there are a lot of dick jokes.”

“Is that your way of saying that you’ll think I’ll like it?” Clint asked, mock offense covering suspicion.

“You don’t have to like Shakespeare. We can like different things,” Natasha said, looking down at her hands.

Maybe she had been a bit of a snob, but she wanted to go out and see the world, not stay at home and watch television. Sometimes she was afraid if she spent too much time with Clint she’d never do anything but work and hang out.

“Does Wednesday work for you?” he asked, hesitantly.

“It’s a date,” she replied.

She was rewarded with a grin. Clint took her hands, and ran his finger over her palm. She swallowed, trying to control the sudden surge of heat that the simple movement sent through her body.

She had almost forgotten about Jarvis when the door to the Tower clicked unlocked behind them.

“Again, I apologize,” Jarvis said. “Ms. Romanoff, I’ve taken the liberty of informed Mr. Rogers that you gifted your ticket to Mr. Wilson. They have already left for the show. You are booked for the off-off Broadway showing of Much Ado About Nothing tonight.”

Natasha moved so she could glare at the camera again.

“I’m not going to forget you meddling, Jarvis,” she said.

“Of course not, Ms. Romanoff,” Jarvis replied.

His voice was as pleasant as ever, but she detected a hint of smugness nonetheless.

FIC: Here Be Dragons (G, no warnings

Alarms wailed through the Avengers Tower in what would ordinarily not bother any of the team. They were used to Tony nearly blowing up his lab, causing irreparable damage to tech and possibly self in his lab, and otherwise being a source of chaos from said lab.

But today, the alarms went off and after a quick check-in with JARVIS that Tony and all other occupants of the lab were still alive, most of the others ignored the situation. Clint had been going for breakfast. By the time Steve had JARVIS affirmation of life, Clint had his bow in hand and was punching the elevator down button.

Natasha had been in the lab, ostensibly as a favor to the absent Pepper to keep Stark alive.

By the time Clint arrived outside Stark's lab, there was smoke seeping out from underneath the door. The hand-drawn sign stuck to the door said 'There Be Dragons.' He turned to Tony, who was wheezing and covered in soot.

"Please tell me that's a joke."

LOL I love this meddling JARVIS and her critiquing the shows and Clint like seriously, not if you're going to critique and her like seriously, there's more to life than work and TV. Just love, love, love all of this. :)

Now that he's got Tony and Pepper, and Clint and Natasha, he needs to turn his efforts towards Steve and Sam :)

fic: light through an open door, pg-13, warnings for canon-typical violence, gore

[identity profile] sweetwatersong.livejournal.com 2014-09-01 02:22 am (UTC)(link)
light through an open door
rating: pg-13
characters: Clint Barton, Natasha Romanoff
warnings: canon-typical violence, gore
summary: Love and life I will divide / Turn away 'cause I need you more / Feel the heartbeat in my mind // We found love in a hopeless place. She has an order she has never been able to carry out. When she finds her soulmate, she will kill them.

author's note i: For scribble_mynames's prompt at the be_compromised 2014 promptathon: "Soulmarks AU where Clint has an hourglass on his back over his heart and Natasha has an arrowhead on her front over her heart. They come from different cultures though that interpret these marks differently. Soulmarks is just one theory on what they mean. Natasha recognizes Clint when he has an arrow pointed right at the arrowhead mark." This is Natasha's story - Clint's may come later, if I can get him to cooperate. :) Many thanks to cybermathwitch for beta'ing and informing me the promptathon hadn't closed while I was in the wilds!

author's note ii: Title and summary lyrics from We Found Love by Rihanna ft. Calvin Harris.

Natasha stares down the shaft of an arrow, the pieces falling into place, and hesitates.

-

She is born blank, blameless, a sheet for the world to draw upon. She has no soulmate, no mark that could tell her whose path her feet may walk beside, no compass to follow her choices. One of the many, one of the few, whose life lies in her own hands.

It is not until she is taken by the Red Room at seven years of age that the bruise blooms on her chest and spreads into an arrowhead.

Natasha is never sure if she should thank them for that.

-

There are missions, and targets, and people she learns to woo and wreck with careful precision. From the beginning, she always looks for the sign that could tell her who would pull her fate alongside theirs.

It does not appear. (http://sweetwatersong.livejournal.com/29533.html)
