Hello, bar! It has come to our attention that our fine establishment has recently turned three years old. Therefore, celebrations are in order and around here those come with cake, booze, and ridiculously hot people Avengers.

In honor of our annibirthday and the themes of a certain movie that just came out, we've decided the theme of our party this year will be Family Fest. This is an informal celebration of family in our canon and in our fandom. That means for Clint and/or Natasha, for the Avengers as a team, or the family you've found for yourself through this fandom. This post is your home base for head canons, discussion, and general chat/squee. Feel free to run with the new Age of Ultron canon or not! Anything family or found family themed is welcome here!

I'll also start an additional post for prompts/fic/art. We'll run informally through the weekend and then compile a masterlist of longer works, if any come out of this! There are no rules except have fun, use proper warnings, and please remember that this is a positive fandom space! Discussion is welcome, but bashing is not.

I don't think I can post that cute pic of Renner and his daughter (since pap pic) in Atlanta but my husband sent a cute pic of him and our daughter in Atlanta (they are visiting his parents since our oldest is deathly afraid of planes, I am home with her) and I just think these 2 dads and 2 cute girls should meet up for a play date.

How's that for family discussion?

And found family, gosh yes, I am a sucker for team-families and it got me again with the Avengers. The hammer lifting after party scene? LOVE IT. It was like when I squee-ed over shawarma but wonderfully MORE :D The Barton family, I don't know, I expected to like the cute kids, because cute kids, but not be all that interested, but I really want to explore how Laura fits into everything and Nat in this new role I never saw for her.

Fandom family? I LOVE THIS BAR. BEST BAR. *HUGS BAR*

How old do we think the kids are? Judging by Lila's book I would guess 7? And Cooper maybe 10? These are things I need to know.

And also Laura. Everything about Laura. Hopefully a lot of Barton extra scenes on DVD.

No idea! I've been trying to find info or images - hopefully we should at least get more images when it's dvd time. Best i've been able to find is on the MCU wiki and in this gallery there's a pretty clear image of the photograph of Laura and the kids that Clint looks at. (Though could be the photo isn't entirely current? Argh.) Looking at that the age gap between the kids looks older than I thought, but could always say either or both of them are big/small for their age. What're we thinking? 9-13 for Cooper, 6-9 for Lila?

I think the photo is current. I think your age ranges are probably right. Would love to know "exactly" so I can figure out what ages the kids were at various points of the marvel history. ;). And Nathaniel... Coming at least 6-9 years after Lila (and concieved after Shield fell). Accident? Planned? I just want to know all their private business ;).

Having raised one of them little rug rats to age 17 and a constant stream of friends popping in and out, I have Cooper pegged for 9 and Lila for 5.

She does look 5/6 to me. But that chapter book she is reading at the end made me think 7 (I think that's when I started reading chapter books). Of course she could be more advanced than me easily ;)

My oldest will be turning 5 at the end of June-crazy! I feel like she was just born.

At the younger end then. Y'know, I have no idea how this works as a timeline. Argh, we need to know when Natasha and Clint each started at SHIELD. We need a SHIELD timeline!

Well, there's a glimpse on the extras for Avengers of Clint's SHIELD badge, which says 1999. But while he said Fury set up the farm for him when he started at SHIELD, that doesn't mean Cooper was born then.

Interesting! To be fair, the two Laura fics I'm working on are probably going to end up slightly off-centre AU from canon anyway, but both actually have Cooper being born before the farm is set up. (In the first Laura has Cooper before she meets Clint and in the second Cooper is actually Barney's kid.) If we say that Age of Ultron is set this year that's 15-16 years Clint's been with SHIELD then, just thinking...

I found this bar after stumbling around with too many feelings on the internet post-Avengers.

I am so glad I did. :) With everyone I've met/rejoiced with/got to see on this comm, to all of the wonderful works and feeling of yes, this, I'm pretty sure I'm never going to leave.

When I found this bar in October 2012, I had no idea how much I would grow to love it. Still partying, still awesome. I've met several of you guys in the flesh (shenshen77, frea_o, inkvoices, franztastisch, being_here and hope to meet many more. Best of all, knowing you has confirmed to me that I am not completely nuts -- and if I am, that I'm not alone.
