The punch and pie portion of the evening.
So hi there, internets. My name is Bee, and I've been having some Clint/Natasha (BlackEye? Sorry that will never not be anything but aweomely hilarious) Feelings since seeing the Avengers movie. And I wanted somewhere that people who were struggling with similar Issues could gather and discuss stuff and post fic and icons and graphics and meta and vids and ALL OF THE FANNISH THINGS. So here we are. This is totally a work in progress, and if you're interested in helping out, the more the merrier, I say.
I don't really have much of a vision for this comm other than a place to geek out about this ship and these characters and also a place to keep track of all the fic that will surely be coming our way. **crosses fingers for epic amounts of fic**
So I guess that's about it. Thoughts, ideas, questions, concerns? Give it a shout. And don't be shy! Please stop in and introduce yourself! I'm brand new to this fandom, but the people I've met so far have been lovely. So come on out and declare some Clint/Natasha love.

I saw Avengers at a midnight screening the first day it was released in Australia. I'd liked the movies leading up to it with the exception of Captain America, which I wasn't too enthused by (I'm sorry, I can't take someone called Captain America seriously, even in a superhero film. Maybe it's my non-American-ness). I've been a Joss Whedon fan from way back and while I haven't read any Avengers comics, I have read a lot of X-Men and I'm a big fan of the superhero team genre.
So needless to say my expectations going in were pretty high, to the point where I was nervous the film wouldn't live up to them.
Well, it surpassed my expectations in every way, and I was hugely impressed with Black Widow.
I'm a feminist and the portrayal of female superheroes (objectified, fridged, etc) has always annoyed me. I was so happy Black Widow was fantastically written, proving that it is possible to have a well written female character in an action movie who isn't just eye candy. Then Natasha had her scene with Clint, and I was expecting them to make out at any moment because that would have been the conventional way to go, but they didn't and instead they went to a lot of effort to make their relationship seem believable, with history and issues and UST like whoa.
Well, partnerships are kind of my fandom kink, so I was sold. No going back. And here I am!

I'm right there with you. I'd heard some good buzz about the movie in general, and I love the actors individually (see: Renner Problems), but it all came down to how good Black Widow's character was. If they didn't get her right then the rest wouldn't matter. And wow oh wow did they nail her characterization. Just perfect.

YES. So much yes to this. My only other fandom has been BSG, and primarily Kara/Lee, and that was precisely the reason I was drawn to them as well. Stong characters, interesting backstory, UST like whoa, and going out of their way not to act on it. I'm kind of a fan anyways of where the canon relationship stuff stays mostly in the background, and I like that there's a little of that with C/N. Even better I like that there's lots going on under the surface and subtext out the wazoo. So much fun.

Hey there! So glad you stopped by! I wasn't expecting to ship this either but then ... wow. And in record time I am so about these two it's not even funny. I'm not a comics reader either; I just really loved how the characters were portrayed in the movie. I'm hoping that we'll start to get more fic now that the film is out everywhere, and I'm excited to have a place to keep track of it. Welcome! :)

As a Whedon fan anyway, I'd been excited about The Avengers for quite some time, but it wasn't until Bee had me watch MI:Ghost Protocol for Jeremy Renner and then told me about this pairing she was intrigued by: Black Widow/Hawkeye.
This was more than a week before the movie. After we saw that, well...we were done for, and the rest is already history.
Anyway. Very excited so many people are finding this comm and already posting their work. Can't wait to see where we go from here!

Hiya all! I have been waiting for the Avengers since Nick Fury showed up at the end of Iron Man. I finally got to see it yesterday and I was not disappointed. How could I be when Joss Whedon was involved? :D
I like both Clint and Natasha as individual characters, but what I find fascinating is that in an ensemble film we have these two people who speak a similar language, have shared experiences, are the ones without superpowers, and have lots of other things in common, and are basically their own little group within the larger group. The dynamics between them and how it impacts on the ensemble as a whole interests me greatly.
You may see my popping up with icons, graphics, fanfic, and recs. Feel free to friend :)

Just wanted to say that you icons and graphics have been AMAZING so far, and now that you've actually seen the movie, I'm so excited about discussing and ficc'ing ALL THE THINGS. ;)1

No more worrying about spoilers! Understanding of all references! It was so, so good! (Can I see it again now please?!)

I'm another one of those folks who didn't expect to love this pairing as much as I do. I'm a huge Tony/Pepper shipper and thought they'd be my only ship in the movie, since I knew Natalie Portman wouldn't be in it and there wouldn't be any Thor/Jane, but then Black Widow and Hawkeye had their scenes together( and Budapest ) and then I saw the Tumblr graphics and vids on You Tube, and I was hooked!

(Oh, and btw, I loved Tony/Pepper in the film. I thought they had one of the very best scenes. the banter was fantastic.)
