Welcome!!!! The time is now upon us. This will kick off a month's worth of prompting and fanworking and all the good things. Not sure what to do? Click below for our handy-dandy Promptathon Guide!

RULES ON POSTING SUBMISSIONS
(please read before you post! <3)

The Rules. Just follow these three easy steps!

1. Leave a Prompt.
Prompts can be anything--simple or elaborate, words or pictures, songs or poems, lyrics or phrases. Anything that, to you, inspires a C/N fanwork. Use your imagination. Go crazy. All I ask is that you keep it tasteful and warn for anything explicit or triggery. Also, try to be as specific as you can with your prompts--this is often very helpful to those creating the fanwork.

And leave as many prompts as you want. I’m serious. Keep coming back, y’all. We want all the prompts we can possibly get Also, be sure to leave each prompt as a separate comment.

2. Wait a week.
Tailgate and chitchat and keep leaving prompts. And mull over the epic fanworks you are creating.

3. Submit C/N fanwork like there is no tomorrow.
All submissions should either be posted here or linked to this post via a comment. The nitty gritty details of posting your stuff can be found HERE. Please read before you post

Timeframe:
Prompts will be accepted starting today, Friday, July 13th (!!!) and will remain open until Friday, August 10th. Submissions may be submitted beginning on Friday, July 20th and may continue to be submitted until August 10th.

What we hope to accomplish with all this promptathon-iness:

A chance to get in the game. Been wanting to jump into the C/N fanwork scene but not sure where to start? Now’s the time. There’s no length requirement on the works submitted, you can focus on drabbles and vidlets and short and sweet projects (or do longer more epic stuff if that strikes your fancy as well). It’s really entirely up to you. We’re just hoping to provide a fun, no-pressure environment.

Ship like you’ve never shipped before.
Tailgate when appropriate. My motto is, if something ain’t a cocktail party, you just aren’t trying hard enough. In that spirit, aurora_0811and I are hosting the tailgate section (which I think at this point just includes random chatter and ridiculousness, cheerleading and tomfoolery, because I doubt our comm’s talkative nature will be suppressed even during the prompting/waiting period.) So pull up a helicarrier-shaped lawnchair, crack open a cold one and settle in for the festivities. And leave prompts.

Such a nice, clear look at how Natasha's life has changed, and how she's going about putting things right for herself.

It’s a time of violence, both towards herself and others. I particularly like the implications there, that she only learns to take care of herself and look out for her own welfare - that she only wants to do those things - after she's met Clint.

Go, Natasha!

“I didn’t expect you to come,” a female voice says from behind him. He carefully turns around to face her.

“Barton assured me you were no threat,” Coulson says, looking at her. She has on a deep blue gown, her red hair glowing like a flame in the sunlight.

She chuckles. “The Black Widow is always a threat. Barton’s a fool.”

A-ha, I wondered about the Natalie/Natasha thing... and that is VERY twisty. I like. How's this for an extra twist: the fact that in that moment she's even capable of thinking the word 'boyfriend' without throwing up is an extremely revelatory freudian slip of the mind. (But you know me and my fluff addiction, so you just carry on with harder hitting stuff, I'll just play in my sandpit over here...heh :D)

I totally agree. It's a complete slip on her part, even in-character. That's just not a word she uses. It tells you exactly how far gone she is, I think.

Sigh. Oh yes. Poor, poor long-suffering Coulson. Just can't get over the idea that there's still bureaucracy to be done, even in SHIELD... God knows how he felt when Clint showed up with her after all this! And I really love badass Nat too :)

Excellent job of linking all the prompts into a cohesive fic, and an equally excellent job of epxloring the progression of their partnership. I love that all the way through Clint is pushing for Natasha to be able to prove herself, like he knows she can. And they finally get their solo mission: it very much feels like the beginning of everything that lies ahead for them, which is a very good thing!

And what can I say, I have a thing for gorgeous photography. The image seemed appropriate. LOL

I do not have the coherence to leave comments of the informative and excellent standard other people have, but good gosh I love this. You build the atmosphere and the emotions so absolutely amazingly, and every section is a dark joy to read. Stunning.

Awwww. This is lovely. Love that entire last section, Natasha's acceptance that Clint can't sleep and her response to it <3 Keeping him company while he's awake at stupid o'clock is just the right thing to do (I say as someone who has to rely on a teddy bear when that happens).

Just an awesomely realized evolution of their relationship. Yay, thank you! *dances* Pretty much that right there is what I wanted to achieve :D

Natasha is definitely very analytical in my mind. I think to be as good as she is at her job, in addition to her physical talents, she has to be fully aware of everything at every time and know the dozens of ways things could play out. When there's emotions involved, it would be even more important to be that way, because the chance of something unexpected coming up is so much the greater. The determination, also, is equally as important. So, I'm glad you liked and agreed with my interpretation of them and their relationship :D

Yeah, I had to add that to my headcanon too, because DUDE, YOU AND BOB WROTE IT: his liar's mouth. He lies. She knows he lies. But this is one of those sweet lies where they can both pretend that it was All Fury's Fault, (because come on, he is never sweet), and Clint can also pretend that he is not a huge ball of need and desire, but he can't maintain that, because, hello, "make it good"???

Your brain is clearly a very fantastic thing. I am now grinning over how all the cities have different opinions on Clint and Natasha, all of which seem very appropriate.

Salzburg would prefer not to come to the meetings anymore in the hopes that if it doesn't make an appearance, Clint and Natasha will forget all about the city itself. And now, of course, that will be the very next place they visit. Because they're pains in the asses like that, and why should Salzburg miss out on all the fun? Pretty sure they'll plan something special to welcome it back into the fold as well. Watch out...

There are still animals! Ringling Brothers type circuses still got 'em. Maybe not Cirque de Soleil acrobatic shows, though.
