Welcome!!!! The time is now upon us. This will kick off a month's worth of prompting and fanworking and all the good things. Not sure what to do? Click below for our handy-dandy Promptathon Guide!

RULES ON POSTING SUBMISSIONS
(please read before you post! <3)


The Rules.  Just follow these three easy steps!

1. Leave a Prompt.
Prompts can be anything--simple or elaborate, words or pictures, songs or poems, lyrics or phrases. Anything that, to you, inspires a C/N fanwork. Use your imagination. Go crazy. All I ask is that you keep it tasteful and warn for anything explicit or triggery. Also, try to be as specific as you can with your prompts--this is often very helpful to those creating the fanwork.

And leave as many prompts as you want. I’m serious. Keep coming back, y’all. We want all the prompts we can possibly get Also, be sure to leave each prompt as a separate comment.

2. Wait a week.
Tailgate and chitchat and keep leaving prompts. And mull over the epic fanworks you are creating.

3. Submit C/N fanwork like there is no tomorrow.
All submissions should either be posted here or linked to this post via a comment. The nitty gritty details of posting your stuff can be found HERE. Please read before you post


Timeframe:
Prompts will be accepted starting today, Friday, July 13th (!!!) and will remain open until Friday, August 10th.  Submissions may be submitted beginning on Friday, July 20th and may continue to be submitted until August 10th.


What we hope to accomplish with all this promptathon-iness:

• A chance to get in the game. Been wanting to jump into the C/N fanwork scene but not sure where to start? Now’s the time. There’s no length requirement on the works submitted, you can focus on drabbles and vidlets and short and sweet projects (or do longer more epic stuff if that strikes your fancy as well).  It’s really entirely up to you. We’re just hoping to provide a fun, no-pressure environment.

• Meet new and awesome people. Because srsly, I love everyone in this bar. It's a good damn bar. Don't be afraid to say hello
• Ship like you’ve never shipped before.
• Tailgate when appropriate. My motto is, if something ain’t a cocktail party, you just aren’t trying hard enough. In that spirit, aurora_0811and I are hosting the tailgate section (which I think at this point just includes random chatter and ridiculousness, cheerleading and tomfoolery, because I doubt our comm’s talkative nature will be suppressed even during the prompting/waiting period.) So pull up a helicarrier-shaped lawnchair, crack open a cold one and settle in for the festivities. And leave prompts.

And most of all, have fun. :)

Clint and Natasha decide that [insert couple here] need help getting together and decide to play Cupid. Cue situational hilarity as they, being the practical people they are, go about this in a decidedly un romantic fashion.

(I'd really, really like the couple to be Maria Hill/Steve Rogers, but that's just me.)

Because of THIS POST I have spent the past two days glued to my computer screen (b/c it isn't allowed to be shown via a wireless streaming device) watching all ten episodes of "The Unusuals". And I, um, may go back and watch a few::all::of them again.

*looks around shiftily*

*is glad it's summer vacation and there are no students around to make fun of their teacher for being obsessed with Jeremy Renner*

It turns out that Natasha is Margaret (Peggy) Carter's daughter. (Peggy was killed in Russia when over there with her daughter at a diplomatic event, or she was working/living in an embassy, or...?) Steve becomes rather protective of her - not in a thinking she can't take care of herself way, but in a Clint better make her happy kind of way. He hates that she's not had much happiness in her life, so he tries to give her some or be there for her, as best as he knows how.

Natasha doesn't know what to do about this. It's like she has any experience of family, never mind family friends. And sometimes she likes being alone with sad memories and doesn't want cheering up. Clint doesn't know what to do about it either, especially when Steve kind of tests him or takes up time with Natasha when Clint wants to be spending time with her and...

I like a lot of the Steve/Tony floating around, but I read one Maria/Steve and it was so believable. It's a couple that works :D Also, I can see Natasha being all 'I am one of the few female friends that Maria has' like it's some kind of duty *grins*.

Me too! This line gives me ALL THE CLINT FEELS. LIKE, ALL OF THEM. It's basically my entire headcanon for him wrapped up into one perfect line. I'd love to see what you'd do with this.


(And alas, I can't take credit; it's from "I am Trying to Break Your Heart" by Wilco-- a line that's screamed/whispered/spoken at the very end and it just guts me. Top five Clint song of mine, btw.)

Ugh okay so I may be working on something for your cigarette prompt but I'm so scared because a: I haven't written fic in like four years and when I was writing fic it was for high school musical, and b: I am such a characterization nazi and Clint and Natasha have such specific personalities...

But YES THE CLINT FEELS FOR THIS ONE LINE. LIKE, MY HEART LITERALLY ACHES.

There's not that much that I've found out there. I think only about four or five pieces (try "can't carve a whistle" by irnan - IIRC, it's Maria POV, and awesome) and at least one of them felt OOC to me.

If you do find some, let me know! I'm hanging for more good Steve/Maria!

Everything flies, it's all good, infinite variety! And if you're thinking of doing art that would be fantastical, just saying, no worries if you're not ;) because we are all the things and i'm hoping that gets represented in the promptathon as well *fingers crossed*.

We need to get ALL THE THINGS painted on all the walls and windows of this bar *grins*.
