Master List of all Promptathon fanworks.

Master List, Part 2 now with more delicious everything!

**Many thanks to [livejournal.com profile] rayruzfor the beautiful graphic.

******************

NOTE: PROMPTING HAS NOW CLOSED, BUT FICS AND FANWORKS MAY STILL BE SUBMITTED THROUGH AUGUST 31ST. THANKS!

Welcome!!!! The time is now upon us. This will kick off a month's worth of prompting and fanworking and all the good things. Not sure what to do? Click below for our handy-dandy Promptathon Guide!

RULES ON POSTING SUBMISSIONS
(please read before you post! <3)

The Rules.  Just follow these three easy steps!

1. Leave a Prompt.

Prompts can be anything--simple or elaborate, words or pictures, songs or poems, lyrics or phrases. Anything that, to you, inspires a C/N fanwork. Use your imagination. Go crazy. All I ask is that you keep it tasteful and warn for anything explicit or triggery. Also, try to be as specific as you can with your prompts--this is often very helpful to those creating the fanwork.

And leave as many prompts as you want. I’m serious. Keep coming back, y’all. We want all the prompts we can possibly get Also, be sure to leave each prompt as a separate comment.

2. Wait a week.
Tailgate and chitchat and keep leaving prompts. And mull over the epic fanworks you are creating.

3. Submit C/N fanwork like there is no tomorrow.
All submissions should either be posted here or linked to this post via a comment. The nitty gritty details of posting your stuff can be found HERE. Please read before you post

Timeframe:
Prompts will be accepted starting today, Friday, July 13th (!!!) and will remain open until Friday, August 10th.  Submissions may be submitted beginning on Friday, July 20th and may continue to be submitted until August 10th.

What we hope to accomplish with all this promptathon-iness:

  • A chance to get in the game. Been wanting to jump into the C/N fanwork scene but not sure where to start? Now’s the time. There’s no length requirement on the works submitted, you can focus on drabbles and vidlets and short and sweet projects (or do longer more epic stuff if that strikes your fancy as well).  It’s really entirely up to you. We’re just hoping to provide a fun, no-pressure environment.
  • Meet new and awesome people. Because srsly, I love everyone in this bar. It's a good damn bar. Don't be afraid to say hello
  • Ship like you’ve never shipped before.
  • Tailgate when appropriate. My motto is, if something ain’t a cocktail party, you just aren’t trying hard enough. In that spirit, [livejournal.com profile] aurora_0811and I are hosting the tailgate section (which I think at this point just includes random chatter and ridiculousness, cheerleading and tomfoolery, because I doubt our comm’s talkative nature will be suppressed even during the prompting/waiting period.) So pull up a helicarrier-shaped lawnchair, crack open a cold one and settle in for the festivities. And leave prompts.

And most of all, have fun. :)

Um... You consider this a fail? Because it left me going pretty incoherent. Love the language you use!

Aw yay, that makes me very happy to hear, thank you! A lot of the concepts in the different snippets, I would get down and then re-read and go "Is this what I meant to say? It sounds different now. Does it even make sense?!" So, pleased it works ;) Thank you for the lovely comment!

*grins* I'm always so envious of the people who can create such stunning works with a minimum of words, which I am pretty much incapable of doing. I read works like yours and go "How? How do they do this?! There is no unnecessary rambling, and all the important and relevant things are still there, and it's so vivid. It's a miracle!".

So, yeah, I can see why you'd feel disappointed at not being able to write anything longer, but it's definitely not the case that shorter is worse.

Such powerful descriptions and amazingly clear images. This is beautiful and tragic, and I love it.

I love this prompt as well. I have this mental image of a young Eliza Dushku crashing on Natasha's couch and shenanigans ensuing. Can you imagine the Black Widow family reunions? All of the significant others would be card-carrying members of "my wife/ girlfriend can kill me with her thighs and I'm cool with that" club. And you'd have that one insurance salesman who everyone is convinced is CIA but who is actually just an insurance salesman. So many ways this prompt can go, I hope someone fills it.

I love the art! And the prompt prompted me (heh) to check if the artist minded being iconned and they don't so I got to play with the pretties, yay :D Glad you like them!

I too have this problem and I have loads of icon spaces. I am, in fact, becoming the cause of this problem for myself lol.

Just...wow. Wow. WOW.

[identity profile] ahigheroctave.livejournal.com 2012-07-20 10:06 pm (UTC)(link)
Haha, I was looking at some of the questions and I'm tempted to take this but I feel like it would end up being more Natasha knows where Clint looses he security clearance badge and that he likes orange soda the best and Clint tries to remember anything besides the way her hair falls in her face or the way her forehead barely just crinkles when she's mad.

Not one of those children will EVER turn a library book in late. Ever.

Brilliant!

FIC: Of Sparkles and Rings (and other shiny things); G; Fluff

[personal profile] ashen_key 2012-07-20 10:13 pm (UTC)(link)
To be fair to the baby currently sitting in her lap, Natasha's wedding ring is very sparkly. Tiny diamonds on white-gold hearts alternating with tiny pink sapphires on black rhodium hearts that glitter in the sunlight as she moves her hands to put books into boxes. It's a ring she bought quite literally as a joke, and wears only as the whim takes her.

John is showing his appreciation by trying to eat it.

Given there is no chance of him actually getting the ring off her finger, and she can pack books one-handed for a little while, Natasha just lets him gum her finger and the metal.

A quiet laugh at the doorway makes her look up.

“Is he trying to eat you or your ring?” Clint asks, still laughing as he walks over to sit next to them on the floor.

“The ring has sparkles,” Natasha says gravely, and then her mouth curves a little. “You know, we probably should get normal wedding rings some point soon. I don't think hearts and basket-weaving blend in.”

“Are you insulting my ring, the one I specifically picked out just for our wedding?”

“Yes. Mine's still more obnoxious, though.”

“True,” he grants, grudgingly, “but mine wins the 'what the hell' awards.”

“I will concede you that point,” she says. His ring also hasn't been seen since their wedding in Vegas six years ago, and lives with his medals in a safe. “They still aren't exactly the rings for John's apparently normal parents.”

Clint's smile is a little crooked. “Apparently normal.”

“Yes. It is true that young John's mother travels a lot, and his father makes an unusual stay-at-home dad, what with his archery and his muscle car, but at least their rings are...classical.”

“Boring.”

“...yeah. Boring.” Then she laughs a little. “So, my dear, what do you say to some internet shopping for an engagement ring that you would have bought me had we been classical and boring?”

“It's good to see that we're keeping the romance alive,” Clint says, and grins at her.

A How I Met Your Mother narrative anyone? Workerbee's fabulous kidfic earlier in the thread got me thinking of how Clint would tell the story of how he met Natasha. Bonus points if it includes the line: "It wasn't love at first sight. It took at least twenty seconds," and/ or a Robin/ Maria Hill reference.

I love this! Poor Clint and Nat, they'll never get anything over on this child- I think you should tell us about what happens when she turns into a teenager...

Aw, you make it sound so deeply thought-out, I'm delighted! I adore this fandom for its banter in particular. Working out Natasha's POV, playing hard-to-get on Clint with her "am I really reluctant or am I just teasing" attitude, was so much fun. Thank you so much!

When I saw the prompt my brain immediately went, "...and he totally has to take her to a drive-in and do the 'teenage boy trying to get her bra off while she pretends she doesn't notice' thing, ah ha ha ah." :D So happy you liked, thank you!

Find me someone who does not admire the arms on that man and you will have found someone who has no appreciation for the human form *grins*.

Yeah, you're writing and wondering 'hang on, where did this bit come from...' :D
