Hawkeye #1 Discussion Post
Hawkeye #1
Summary:
Clint Barton doesn't have superpowers. His opening monologue is pretty much just that. So, basically, this is about how Clint is an awesome hero doing heroic things that you don't need super powers to do.
When the landlord is tripling rents in his building, trying to drive the tenants out, Clint makes a move to keep the families from being evicted. He finds the landlord at an illegal card game which quickly escalates into a brawl. (And Clint hitting someone's throat with a playing card.) Clint takes it into his hands to end it and goes out of his way to help a four-legged innocent bystander.
Reaction:
I was sorta suckerpunched by the sheer amount of FEELS I had for this comic. I didn't have any sort of expectations going in. I know that on page one my reaction was: STOP FALLING OFF BUILDINGS, CLINT. And it was very interesting to see that yup... he ended up in the hospital for a few weeks pretty broken.
Um, the whole him living in Bed-Stuy in a meh apartment building with all sorts of awesome Brooklyn folk was just super awesome. Relevant to my Brooklyn life interests. (Though...er... I think the closest I've been to Bed-Stuy is Bushwick.) AND THE DOGGY. OMGOMG. I HAVE SO MANY FEELINGS ABOUT THAT DOG. I really hope he doesn't change the dog's name away from Arrow, and I really want fic about Natasha dropping in on him and being confused about why he has an injured dog.
I have such a thing for Clint being just... a very good guy. Like genuinely good. With his own sense of right and wrong and a way of going about it that is very different from Steve. But he's got...well.... heart.

Does anyone know of a good place to order this, that might deliver to Europe?
eta: found it on Amazon marketplace but they want $12 for just the shipping cost to Europe. There has to be a better way.

My brother is a comic book junkie and I asked him to get me a copy and he said, "Why do you want that? He's useless." I no longer have a brother.

I may have to make a trip to the local comic book store to pick this one up, and see if Widowmaker is in...
