ATTF: friending time.

Greetings, best bar on earth!!  Man I have missed this place. This time of year is always so crazy-busy, and there's always so much to get done that it seems to fly by in a kind of haze (I know I've pretty much been doing my own zombie walk just trying to make it through, and a huge shoutout to Bob for some much needed fic therapy; it's totally keeping my ass sane right now.)

But how goes it, y'all? [livejournal.com profile] shenshen77and I were talking the other day and she had mentioned that we hadn't had a good old-fashioned friending meme in a while, and I thought that sounded like a dandy idea. I also think we need a good impromptu dance party and a chance to chat and hang out with old friends and make new ones and just be our awesome selves.

So please come by and introduce yourself. Say a few words about how you found this place or this ship and what your interests are. Check out other people's comments. Feel free to stalk them (in a non-creepy and completely respectful way) and comment crash-- hell, this place was built on comment-crashing (you think I'm kidding but I'm not.) There is no form to fill out becuase I'm allergic to forms. Free jazz all the way, bb. ;)

ETA on the introductions: no need to go into detail on the personal stuff. share as much as you feel comfortable with. i always like being a little cautious on that front, this being the internets and all. <3

Pics, gifs, randomness, chitchat, melarkly, and general bedlam are always encouraged. I've missed you guys. <3

ALSO-- I'm posting a sign-up sheet in the comments for future ATTF posts. We have had some amazing guest hosts and I thank each and every one of you. Y'all are constantly raising the level of discourse (and squee) around here and it's awesome. So for anyone thinking about signing up-- don't be a stranger, m'kay?

My lack of money ensures that that won't happen to me. I just have to rotate them all.

I just got my christmas bonus with my last paycheck, otherwise I wouldn't have done it either. I can totally relate, for christmas last year I invited my family to a homecooked meal, as I couldn't affor actual presents... then I got a new job and it's the first one in years that actually pays well...

Huh! Thats a good idea actually! Should have offered to cook Christmas dinner this year! :P Though I think my sister would be pretty annoyed by the lack of presents. :P

To be honest though, if I got a decent amount of money, getting a paid LJ account would be pretty far down the list of things to buy. :P

Right? Sometimes I have those ;) And my mom actually cashed it in on her birthday and she invited my aunt and uncle as well :D So yeah, probably would have been cheaper to just buy her a book :D

Yes, I agree. It was a spur of the moment thing, but I don't regret it (yet) ;D

And books are an excellent fallback! :P

Haha I like the "yet".

[identity profile] shenshen77.livejournal.com 2012-12-07 11:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Excellent fallback, especially in our family, my brother and I always gift each other books :P

Yes, well so far I haven't had a chance to miss the money ;)

Well, when I moved this summer my friends and my brother actually offered to start collecting between them and buy me a Kindle when they had to lug the 20 boxes of books from one apartment to the other ;)

They still love me though :D Especially my brother, since he is getting all the thrillers I've read and won't read again as I now know whoditit :D So yeah, I absolutely understand :P

Thanks, I hope so too, would be a first :D

Ah. People have suggested I should maybe get a kindle but NO. Books books books. Though I totally understand the need. I found kindles to be very useful when travelling earlier this year.

Books all the way, my dear! I do think they would be awesome for travelling and reading in bed, though... Ah well, I don't see me getting one in the near future ;)
