shenshen77. Although we'd decided on this theme months ago, we'd never thought that we both would need some cute and cuddly so much this week.

Both anuna as well as I had a really horrible, no good week, and I'm sure we're not the only ones. So please shower us and yourselves with love and cuddles :)

Assassins being cuddly, puppies, kittens, babies, team feels, Clint and Tasha being kids, all the feels - everything that makes you go "awww" when you read it or look at it - bring it all.

Is there anything you read or looked at that made you go massively "AWWW"??? We'd love your recs for fics and art!

Or have you written something really cute and cuddly yourself? We'd love to know about it!

You can post a pic spam, it's always nice to look at all the pretties :) (But remember the rules below ;))

Last but not least - How about a little impromptu comment-ficathon of cute???? Let everyone know what adorable little scene you've always wanted to read, maybe someone else will be inspired. Did you have an awful week too? Try some therapeutic writing, lord knows everything I've tried to write this week was toothachingly sweet ;)

frea_o about this ATTF yesterday, and since she won't be around today, she offered to write something based on a prompt I gave her. My prompt was "Sleeping next to natasha isn't so wonderful as everyone thinks". Here is

frea_o's wondeeeeeerful ficlet! :)

The first time somebody asks, he says she kicks in her sleep.

The look at him in shock that he would actually answer that question; Clint shrugs. “What?” he asks. “She does. She kicks in her sleep.”

There’s a long pause, so Clint sighs and hikes up the leg of his sweatpants to show the rather impressive bruise purpling up what feels like the entire bottom half of his shin. None of the trainees are actually squeamish enough to look grossed out, but there is definitely more respect lurking in their eyes. Clint rolls the pants leg back down and orders them to run a few more laps or something productive so that SHIELD won’t fire him as an instructor or whatever.

The next group to ask is Accounting. They fear her, but in a different way than the trainees do.

“It’s not easy. She’s always armed and she’s twitchy,” Clint says, and shows them an scar low on his ribcage. “Fast, too. I talked in my sleep once, she gave me this with her favorite knife. I learned to shut up pretty quick.”

Now it’s not respect on his audience’s faces, but horror.

Time passes. People get used to it—it being somehow both a miracle that threatens to blow him away a little more every day and yet feels completely right—but questions still come up. Sometimes he keeps it mundane: she keeps the room like an icebox and needs four different blankets. Other times he drops hint about leather and riding crops, or shows off fresh and old wounds alike. By the time six months of cohabitation have gone by, there are so many stories floating around SHIELD that Clint doesn’t bother to keep them straight. It catches up to him the night he comes in from a mission and starts stripping in the dark.

Natasha rolls over and he can feel her eyes on him, even if his vision hasn’t adjusted well enough for him to see her yet.

“So I stabbed you, huh?” she asks.

Clint pauses with his shirt halfway over his head. “For talking in my sleep. See?” He taps his ribcage.

“You got that in Calcutta, you dork.” Amusement leaks into her voice as she moves over to let him have his side of the bed. She always sleeps there when he’s away. Luckily his mission tonight was quick: in, arrow some bad guy in the throat, out before the late night shows start.

He climbs into bed and she turns onto her side so that they’re face to face. By now, his eyes have adjusted and he can see that she’s smirking, which makes him smile. “How’d you find out?”

“Sally, in Accounting.”

“That rat.”

“The IT department seems to think I can’t sleep without choking you a little bit.”

“Your hugs are a little on the strangle-y side.” Clint nudges her nose with his, which always makes her laugh. “But it’s strange how fixated everybody around this place is about you and sleeping. So what’s a few white lies to keep their lives interesting?”

“You’re kind of a terrible person sometimes,” Natasha says, her tone thoughtful. “Sleeping next to me is amazing.”

He grins. Modesty has never been a problem for her. “You kick in your sleep.”

“You snore when you sleep on your stomach.”

“You’re a covers hog.”

“You’re a bed hog. And you like to cuddle.”

He gives her a wounded look. “Well, yeah, I’m a cuddly guy.”

This makes her laugh again as she tugs him toward her. When she kisses him, her lips are curved up in a smile. These moments, he thinks as his fingers find the hem of the shirt she’s been sleeping in and tug, are why he won’t ever really tell the truth when somebody asks what it’s like to share a bed with the Black Widow. Because really, sleeping next to Natasha isn’t always restful or even wonderful. But he still likes it.

I love Clint's wild stories and Nat's reaction to finding out. All the banter is just what the doctor ordered and cuddly assassins being cuddly??? I love it :D

Kidfic Prompts:

They planned for one kid, not for quadruplets (with cameos from other characters babysitting?).

Natasha has memorized thirty different lullabies in six different languages (because her kids are going to be multilingual, dammit!). Clint knows two lullabies; the only one he remembers his mother singing to him and Enter Sandman.

I am pretty much out of it today (but I will write if there's a way to make myself); instead I can give you awww inducing things I've worked on (you could easily call me Miss Babyfic.)

My fanfic writing for this pairing started with a story called Kobayashi Maru (http://archiveofourown.org/works/465017), which is a rather big babyfic and should provide you with aww moments featuring entire team. I wrote several stories in that same 'verse, and you can find them here (http://head-on-home.livejournal.com/tag/kobayashi%20verse), and an additional one that's only on AO3, called Effects of maternity (http://archiveofourown.org/works/484209); in which Natasha is a badass mommy. Other baby and kid fics? Only human (http://head-on-home.livejournal.com/17204.html) where I tried to flip a trope of Natasha not wanting a baby on its head and Learning to play the song in your heart part one (http://head-on-home.livejournal.com/20908.html) and part two (http://head-on-home.livejournal.com/20993.html), in which natasha decides to keep an unplanned pregnancy, and Clint decides he will help her as much as he can. Only it's harder than he expected. (That one is slightly unconventional approach to babyfic, because Clint isn't the baby's biological father, and no, Natasha didn't cheat on him, and it's more complicated than it seems based on this summary.)

There's another kidfic series I was working on called Random numbers (http://head-on-home.livejournal.com/tag/series%3A%20random%20numbers), which was Castle/Avengers crossover and Clint had a kid with... well, go and check it out if you want. It's not finished, and maybe I should really go back to that thing. :D

"I am not, I repeat -" Tony Stark was red in the face, "never babysitting all four of them together ever again."

He handed the Brat Number Four to Natasha and the little red head girl grinned the most awful Barton grin at him. "To!" Emma wasn't two years old yet and her language still had to be translated, but Tony knew this was an enthusiastic sign of childlike adoration meant only for him.

"Uncle Tony?" Maddeline was four year old sneaky thing with unbeatable batting eyelashes, this time aimed at him. "I am sorry Nick and I broke your things."

Tony looked at her as she looked up at him, all remorseful and genuinely sad, and damn it. He looked at Natasha who raised an eyebrow at him.

"What do you think what it's like for us?" she asked. Tony gave an exasperated sigh and squatted down.

"Maddie, darling," he said, completely serious, but keeping his tone soft. "Uncle Tony loves you very much, but when you act like you did today, you make him feel very sad." he said and wondered was this some sort of emotional blackmail. Natasha didn't say anything, which meant she probably didn't mind his method and Tony didn't want to contemplate if thatw as a good or bad thing. Maddie's eyes grew.

"I'm so sorry, Uncle Tony," she said. "Please forgive me?"

Pepper had to be right about him having a heart because he opened his eyes for Maddie and hugged her when she practically threw herself at him.

"Glad to see that she has you too wrapped around her little finger," that was Barton, coming out of Tony's workshop, leading five year old Twins From Hell by the hands. Tony cracked one eye open and frowned at Barton.

"Well, you two obviously deserve what you've got there," Tony patted Maddie and got up. Then he looked at the twins. "You two -"

"We're you'r favorite, Uncle Tony," Nick said.

"And you're our favorite," Michael added.

"You're pain in the neck," Tony pretended to frown, which never really worked because the boys tugged themselves free and confiscated his legs, each of them hugging one. Tony looked at Barton, who smirked and shrugged.

"I still don't understand how on earth you two were able to produce such adorable kids," he said.

Bwhahahaha. I can totally see that.

It's such a fun (sometimes) challenge to write these two as 'cute' without going OOC... finding that balance between snuggles and snark, especially when they're both so well-suited to deep, dark angsty angst.

When I get stuck on my current WIP, I tend to plot out/write sappy little codas that there's really no place for in the story, but that are part of my personal headcanon. Maybe I'll post them as one-shots after the main story is finished (which, at this point, I'm just hoping will be some point before Avengers 2 comes out *headdesk*)

I love the lullaby prompt, because that alone makes me go awwww with feels :D Hmmmm....

It's been part of my headcanon forever, I just haven't figured out how to turn it into fic.
