Natasha Romanoff. The Black Widow. Capturing our attention since Iron Man 2 with flipping Happy, kicking ass, and quoting latin. Keeping it from her first subverting expectations scene in Avengers, and then THOSE SCENES with Clint Barton that had us all hooked.

Many films later and now we know how it ends. (Black Widow movie pending - fix it, backstory, who knows?)

This is a post for appreciating and celebrating a character we love. Bring your recs, your fics, your fanart and graphics, fanvids, playlists, ALL THE THINGS. Let's throw Natasha Romanoff the wake/party she deserves.

Whoo! Can't believe no one has commented yet... I'll have to be brief (a moment's respite before people show up for a dinner for 12...).

Okay, so. Natasha. Unpopular opinion: the arc she was given in Infinity War/Endgame is in character, consistent, and honours who she had become over the MCU movies she was in (we ignore that brucey blip in AoU - never happened). Coming off the red ledger in Avengers, the "who do you want me to be" in TWS, the friend-to-both-sides and linchpin in Civil War, and finally that "we thought we'd stay in touch" and "she's not alone" in IW, Endgame made perfect sense. She found her family, and was determined to do "whatever it takes" to bring back the ones not in the room. By Endgame, everything "goes through [Natasha]".

So, yeah. Heartbreaking? Absolutely. Logical? Yes. Earned? Totally.

None of which will stop me from completing my fix-it - once I get a few moments to myself and stop editing the bits I've already written...

Nat was the heart and soul of the Avengers to me. It makes perfect sense for it to be her heart-wrenching sacrifice for all the reasons you mentioned. I hate that she’s gone and look so forward to the magic of fix-it fic.

Commenting super late, but I wanted to say that I really miss Natasha and I've appreciated that most of the recent fic postings have either completely ignored Endgame or are fix its where she lives (I'm working on my own fix it but it takes me so long to write things, expect it in 2025)

I had to just quit thinking about how she died in Endgame to appreciate the earlier movies and fic I love. The pyramids are nice and tall this time of year!
