Welcome!!!! The time is now upon us. This will kick off a month's worth of prompting and fanworking and all the good things. Not sure what to do? Click below for our handy-dandy Promptathon Guide!

RULES ON POSTING SUBMISSIONS
(please read before you post! <3)


The Rules.  Just follow these three easy steps!

1. Leave a Prompt.
Prompts can be anything--simple or elaborate, words or pictures, songs or poems, lyrics or phrases. Anything that, to you, inspires a C/N fanwork. Use your imagination. Go crazy. All I ask is that you keep it tasteful and warn for anything explicit or triggery. Also, try to be as specific as you can with your prompts--this is often very helpful to those creating the fanwork.

And leave as many prompts as you want. I’m serious. Keep coming back, y’all. We want all the prompts we can possibly get Also, be sure to leave each prompt as a separate comment.

2. Wait a week.
Tailgate and chitchat and keep leaving prompts. And mull over the epic fanworks you are creating.

3. Submit C/N fanwork like there is no tomorrow.
All submissions should either be posted here or linked to this post via a comment. The nitty gritty details of posting your stuff can be found HERE. Please read before you post


Timeframe:
Prompts will be accepted starting today, Friday, July 13th (!!!) and will remain open until Friday, August 10th.  Submissions may be submitted beginning on Friday, July 20th and may continue to be submitted until August 10th.


What we hope to accomplish with all this promptathon-iness:

• A chance to get in the game. Been wanting to jump into the C/N fanwork scene but not sure where to start? Now’s the time. There’s no length requirement on the works submitted, you can focus on drabbles and vidlets and short and sweet projects (or do longer more epic stuff if that strikes your fancy as well).  It’s really entirely up to you. We’re just hoping to provide a fun, no-pressure environment.

• Meet new and awesome people. Because srsly, I love everyone in this bar. It's a good damn bar. Don't be afraid to say hello
• Ship like you’ve never shipped before.
• Tailgate when appropriate. My motto is, if something ain’t a cocktail party, you just aren’t trying hard enough. In that spirit, aurora_0811and I are hosting the tailgate section (which I think at this point just includes random chatter and ridiculousness, cheerleading and tomfoolery, because I doubt our comm’s talkative nature will be suppressed even during the prompting/waiting period.) So pull up a helicarrier-shaped lawnchair, crack open a cold one and settle in for the festivities. And leave prompts.

And most of all, have fun. :)

AU: circus rivalry. Natasha is part of a Cique de Soleil style circus, where there are no animals, lots of acrobatics, moving stage sets, and the circus is famous in the Cirque de Soleil way, with a permenant show in Vegas type of thing. Clint is part of a Ringaling Brothers type American circus, with the animals and the sawdust areana. Go.

AU: everyone is in the circus. When Clint runs away (from his foster home) to join the circus with his brother there's Thor, who speaks to the animals and rides an elephant; Tony, who fixes everything, sorts out amazing special effects and pyrotechnics, and keeps changing the Big Top so they have to keep putting it up differently, much to everyone's annoyance; Bruce, who most of the time is a quiet, shy guy, but get in him in make-up, standing tall, and in front of the audience, and he's like a different man, The Strong Man; Steve, a star attraction with perfect aim at tossing things around and calculating where they're going to go, flipping between them, juggling, atheletics, whatever the Boss can come up with, and all the girls in the audience drool over him. And then there's this redhead that lives with the Russian acrobats/trapeze artists...

Clint finding a talent, a home, and a friend at the circus. Circus shenanigans. Team shenanigans. Roll up, roll up.

(Possibly because Peter, after all, hides behind a mask and believes that being a superhero means making sacrifices elsewhere. That maybe he won't ever have a normal life. And as much as the Avengers are like a superhero family, it's Natasha and Clint, two normal people and in relationship, that make Peter want to be a part of that kind of world too. Or, you know, maybe he gets mixed up in something the two of them are involved in and they end up dragging him along and before he knows it he's practically an Avenger. Or...?)

Fic: Clint's Turn, PG-13, Prologue

I'm kind of in love with this prompt. :-) I think I'm going to turn it into a multi-chapter fic if there's a good response. Because this turned out to be way too much fun!

Coulson interrupted their sparring session to ask Barton and Romanoff to report to Fury's office in 15 minutes. Ever the obedient minions, they showed up to the Director's office at the exact time specified – still in workout clothes and not having showered. Surely they cleared the halls on their way there, and hopefully Coulson and Fury would think twice before interrupting their training time again. Well, probably not, but at least the message had been sent.

Sure it had. Coulson didn't even raise an eyebrow as the two of them walked in and sat down.

“We have a window of opportunity that we need to exploit immediately,” Fury began without preamble. “Our target was just dumped and has a history of jumping into rebound relationships. The target is also known for sharing intel with those rebounds.”

“Have the bad guys considered not telling this guy any secrets?” asked Barton, sitting somewhat slouched in his chair.

“I'm sure it's crossed their mind, Agent Barton,” the Director's answer was dry personified. “But Abri's father dotes on her and he has enough power in the South African underworld to defend her. More importantly, to date her relationships have been with other bad guys.”

Clint sat up straighter. “Her? It's a her?” A smile spread across his face. Clint loved it when Natasha's marks were female. The occasional twinges that the sniper felt (and worked very hard to deny existed) when Natasha came onto men made absolutely no appearance when his partner came on to a woman. While Natasha didn't hate it, Clint knew that the woman he loved preferred men, which left him free to enjoy the show. And, well...all those curves...all in the same place...

Natasha rolled her eyes at her partner's reaction.

“Yes, it is,” replied Fury, and only people very, very good at reading difficult-to-read people would be able to tell that the Director of S.H.I.E.L.D. was holding back a smile. “But Agent Romanoff isn't the honey trap, Barton. You are.”

The smile appeared on Natasha's face as fast as it left Clint's.

“What? Me—no—you don't—” Clint spluttered, clearly at a loss for words.

“Abri Van de Merwe likes a man's man, Agent Barton. She likes the rugged type – won't have anything to do with pretty boys.”

“What, now I'm not pretty?” Clint's indignation proved the decisive factor – Fury couldn't hold back his smile any longer.

“Calm down. I'm sure she'll find you quite attractive,” the Director allayed the archer's ego with a verbal eye roll.

Natasha let out a noise somewhere between a laugh and a snort. Clint shot her a death glare; Natasha just smiled bigger.

AU: Clint is a comic book/graphic novel writer and artist. Natasha is a forger and an art thief. When a drawing/comic done by Clint worth a hell of a lot of money goes missing from a private collection Clint gets asked to come and authenticate the rest, where he meets Natalie Rushaman ( or another alias of Natasha's)...

The Confounded Ipod Caper

Clint returns Darcy's ipod after Thor, only it's not her's. It's either Clint's or Natasha's. Not that she knows that. So she listens to some of it, checks out the playlists. What's on there? What are the playlists called? And then she decides to track down the owner to return it, because she of all people knows how important a person's ipod is. And she still wants her's back, thank you very much. (What happened to Darcy's?)

Nobody can't live without a certain person's existence. They are no exception. But they aren't Clint and Natasha without each other. They are just Hawkeye and Natasha without each other.

Natasha has a brokedown tin bracelet. She knows every dent and scratch. She also knows every scar and indent of Clint’s body. But nothing is more real to her, here, than her bracelet and what she knows to be real right before her.

Her memories are not her own most of the time. She’s filled up with people walking around she can’t remember having ever met, places someone ghosted from cities and states and countries.

She’s been everywhere. And nowhere.

And now she’s down farther than any of them have gone before.

Clint convinced her it would be safe, and Clint is the only person she can trust in a sea of unfamiliar friends and friendly strangers.

Clint doesn’t keep her remembering of places she might have to return to. Clint doesn’t register at all when she finds a building so much like one in Kiev when she was a girl and lost on her own then, too.

The only thing keeping her from floating away in the white mist of the ocean to her left is a brokedown tin bracelet.

She can run her right thumb over it, and twirl it and twirl it until it shines.

It’s the only reason that will lead her home.

Clint sits on grass greener than any color he’s ever remembered seeing. To his left is a wide open sea with cragged rocks breaking the waves, and behind him, he hears his life.

They make the most noise on Saturdays.

He knows that somehow. Somehow he’s tethered to people he can’t remember meeting. He’s bound to someone with bright sunflower hair.

Clint has in his hand always an arrowhead from days gone past that he knows he dug from the ground with his ten year old fingernails.

It’s smooth on the surface, jagged along one side, the other side less so from Clint’s fingers—ten years old, eighteen, twenty-six, forty-one.

Clint can’t turn around, turn into the sound. That makes the sunflower hair real.

It means the taste of cobalt and the smell of ginger and lace will float away from him, real memory or not.

When he spots her, Natasha knows they are together topside. They are lying side by side on a bed where Coulson anchored them.

She doesn’t smile at him, doesn’t acknowledge that he’s there, in her mind, in her dreams—both real and fabricated.

He doesn’t smile back at her.

She knows her way to him, knows, too, that he has the same convoluted way back to her.

She knows that they will wake up, same hotel, same Coulson, same distance separating them.

She changes nothing. Flicks back the cuff on her wrist and carries on.

He never falters, puts one hand in a pocket and keeps moving.

While they are together in the deep down, farther than either of them had been alone, they hold hands.

Clint lets her lead him to a place that reminds her of a home she may never have had. She flirts with the whites of the sea. He draws colors from the highest building to the sky.

They aren’t supposed to fit together. Only in the dream when it’s go time. They aren’t supposed to cling to the other. Even though they swear neither does.

And maybe she’s not the person he sees, remembers, she is the one that’s always beside him.

Maybe he’s not the anchor keeping her there, but he can’t imagine the weight of anything without her.

Natasha gets a bit peeved at the way some people think their idea/their country's idea of Christmas and other holidays is the One True Way. Things were different in Russia, not that she ever really got to celebrate, and she's been to places around the world, everywhere is different. After a bit of an arguement/incident/debate/bet Natasha and Clint end up (having to) celebrate every holiday/a major holiday from every religion/the ten holidays that the most people in the world celebrate. In a year. Divali, Ramadan, Chinese New Year. Have fun. Are either of them out of their depth? Does research happen? Do other people (eventually) join in? What happens after the end of the year?
