SUNDAY 7 AUGUST: We open for fills! (You can also keep prompting)
MIDNIGHT SUNDAY 25 SEPTEMBER: Promptathon, both prompts and fills, ends at midnight in whatever your timezone is.

HOW PROMPTATHON 2022 WORKS

> Step One: Leave Prompts

Prompts can be anything – simple or elaborate, words or pictures, songs or poems, lyrics or phrases, anything that inspires a fanwork. Use your imagination. Go wild!

We welcome ALL THINGS MARVEL, though we ask that Clint and/or Natasha turn up in there somewhere, individually or as friends, lovers, spouses, partners, in gen fic, ANYTHING. That means we do welcome other characters and pairings (and threesomes or moresomes).

Leave as many prompts as you want. We’re serious. Keep coming back. We want as many prompts as we can possibly get. Just make sure each prompt is in a separate comment.

Also please add a warning at the top if your prompts contain spoilers/speculation relating to any Marvel films/tv shows released in the last six months including Hawkeye TV.

> Step Two: Squee

Been wanting to jump into the fandom but not sure where to start? Now’s the time. Newbie or a lurker? Here’s the perfect opportunity to say hello! Promptathon is a fun, no-pressure environment. If all you want to do is post prompts and share in the squee, you’re more than welcome! And by squee we mean chatting in the chat thread, replying to prompts to chat about prompts, and just lots of excitement all over the place.

For additional squee, there is also the be_compromised Discord Server, where you can chat about Promptathon (or anything else) in a more chatroom-style place. Click here for an invite. However, all prompts and fills will be on this DW post as a one-stop shop.

> Step Three: submit fanworks like there’s no tomorrow!

The usual Community Rules apply. There’s no length requirement on fanworks submitted. You can create drabbles or epics, vids, art, fanmixes, anything at all; it’s just all about getting creative! You can fill as many prompts as you want, and prompts can be filled multiple times by whoever wants to fill them.

Please warn if your fills contain spoilers/speculation relating to any Marvel films/tv shows released in the last six months including Hawkeye TV.

HOW TO POST FILLS

Respond in a comment to the prompt you are filling. Please post the entire work in the comment if it's short enough OR post a link, and consider posting the first section as a teaser. Please don't post works directly to the comm - we’re all about one-stop shopping, so keep everything in this main promptathon post. We'll do a masterlist of fills at the end.

Label your fill/comment in the subject line with 'FILL', your title, and a rating. Example: FILL: 5 Times Clint and Natasha Were Awesome (PG). When filling in the subject line, you may need to view the comm in its original style (if you don't already). Just make sure you can see a subject line when responding with your submission. This makes it A LOT easier for us to make that masterlist and for people to spot your fills.

Make sure to include a rating and warnings OR 'choose not to warn' at the start of your fill, as per the comm rules. Help us out and make sure folks know what they're clicking on :)

And once again, please warn for Hawkeye TV spoilers and any Marvel films/tvs released in 2022! Not everyone has Disney+/can get to the cinema.

AU of Black Mirror episode "Hang the DJ":

A dating app matches people with an expiry date for how long their relationship should last. Natasha and Clint are only matched for 12 hours but find that they get along really well, and none of their subsequent matches seem to have the same spark, despite being longer relationships. When they get matched again later, they decide not to look at the expiry date and just enjoy what they have but one of them (maybe Natasha) can't resist.

Time Traveler's Wife AU

Older Clint (who's in a relationship with Natasha) spontaneously travels back in time to where/when Natasha is growing up, without any control over his destination. When he's sent to kill her, Natasha trusts Clint enough to defect because she's met him multiple times before while he's never seen her outside of a mission briefing.

Barton & Romanoff's Advanced Specialists Training. To upskill field Agents to Specialists or otherwise improve skills.

Could involve Clint randomly hitting trainees with projectiles to test their situational awareness, and being tasked to feed Goose. Could be what trainees think is a simulation/exercise is an actual live event.

(Clint and Nat could be annoyed about this and trying to avoid having to do it again, they could be having fun, or they could be taking it very seriously because they complained to Fury that new Specialists just aren't good enough to survive the job.)

To Kate Bishop (and her friends/any other characters you want to include) Clint Barton is the ex-carny who works part-time at the archery range, volunteers at the food bank, arranges rooftop BBQs, did a first aid course at the local youth group, dog sits for people sometimes; that guy who's kind of a community fixture, even if sometimes he's a bit of a mess.

But then he looks... injured, and crazy stuff happens, Avengers have been spotted, what have you, and Kate/they don't know that Clint’s Hawkeye. They just want to help the guy who's always helped everyone else.

Cue shenanigans.
