RULES ON POSTING SUBMISSIONS
(please read before you post! <3)


The Rules. Just follow these three easy steps!

1. Leave a Prompt.
Prompts can be anything--simple or elaborate, words or pictures, songs or poems, lyrics or phrases. Anything that, to you, inspires a C/N fanwork. Use your imagination. Go WILD. All we ask is that you place anything NSFW under a cut or link, use trigger warnings when appropriate, and place anything spoiler-y under a cut with a warning. As this is a Clint/Natasha promptathon, your prompts and fanworks can include other characters, but the central focus must be on Clint and/or Natasha. If you’re posting large images, please be mindful of members with slower Internet connections and place the image under a cut or link.

And leave as many prompts as you want. I’m serious. Keep coming back, y’all. We want all the prompts we can possibly get Also, be sure to leave each prompt as a separate comment.

2. Wait a week.
Keep leaving prompts and plan your fanworks! This is a time for celebration and creating all of the things. Work hard, shippers.

3. Submit C/N fanwork like there is no tomorrow.
All submissions should either be posted here or linked to this post via a comment. We will make an official post about rules in the time leading up to submissions. Please read it before posting, as responsible partying is to be encouraged at all times.

Timeline

Prompting starts today, August 2^nd and will remain open until August 9^th. Submissions will start on August 16^th, and will remain open until August 31^st.  It is, in fact, A WHOLE MONTH OF PROMPTATHON.

If you can’t complete your fanwork by August 31^st, that’s okay. You’re still welcome to post your fanwork to the community! However, the promptathon masterlist will only include fanworks from August 16-31.

What we hope to accomplish with all this promptathon-iness:

• A chance to get in the game. Been wanting to jump into the C/N fanwork scene but not sure where to start? Now’s the time. There’s no length requirement on the works submitted, you can focus on drabbles and vidlets and short and sweet projects (or do longer more epic stuff if that strikes your fancy as well).  It’s really entirely up to you. We’re just hoping to provide a fun, no-pressure environment. If all you want to do is post prompts and share in the squee, that’s fine too!

• Meet new and awesome people. Newbie or lurker? Here is the perfect opportunity to say hello!

• Ship like you’ve never shipped before.

Clint actually doesn't get hurt on missions all that often, too much situational awareness. But everyone remembers the time he sprained his neck getting the Nutella down from the top shelf. Or the time he broke his toe when he walked into the couch table. Nat doesn't know if she wants to pity him or headslap him.

Fic: Walking Disaster, G, no warnings

"Careful, careful," Natasha said as she helped Clint into the living area of Avengers Tower.

"It's just my arm," Clint grumbled under his breath. "I can still walk."

"Sure you can." Natasha patted his head, "Lets get you on the couch and I'll get you some water to take the medicine the doctor's gave you."

"I'm fine Tash. I don't need any pain medicine."

Just then Steve poked his head out of his room, "There you are. Bruce was looking for you..." Steve wrinkled his brow as he looked at Clint, "What happened?"

"He slipped on the rug and broke his wrist." Natasha said as she helped guide Clint to the couch.

"Don't," he took a deep breath as he tried to find a more comfortable position, "don't say it like that."

"That's what happened."

"I'm so confused." Steve took a seat beside Clint, "Are you going to be okay?"

"The doctor said he's going to need surgery."

Clint leaned forward to interrupt her but gasped at the pain. "He didn't say that." He finally said as he settled back into position.

Natasha shook her head, "You were so drugged up you don't know what he said." She pulled the pill bottle out of the pharmacy bag. "Speaking of..."

"I'm fine."

She ignored him and looked at Steve, "Make sure he doesn't get a concussion while I'm gone okay?"

While Natasha headed to the kitchen Steve asked, "How do you slip and break your wrist?"

"I don't want to talk about it." Was all Clint said.

Natasha and/ or Clint get sent back into time to Natasha's early childhood. They have to choose between maintaining the timeline and saving bby!Natasha from her fate.

(If they change things: Rhodey's suit kills Iron Man in the Avengers, the portal doesn't get closed in Avengers, HYDRA isn't discovered soon enough and the Helicarriers go active, etc)

Bonus points if Natasha keeps trying to set up Steve with women from wealthy political families, but he ends up falling for Maria, Sam or Sharon instead.

The Amazing Race - Marvel Season, M (Chapter 1 is G)

Replying to my own prompt, because I'm classy like that. :D

Warnings: Minor violence, and characters confronting phobias. References to past physical and sexual child abuse, rape, and religious indoctrination.

When a redheaded stranger convinces Clint to apply to the Amazing Race as her partner, he doesn't think anything will come of it. It turns out pretending to be an engaged couple and getting into the Race is easy. Staying alive, and dealing with past enemies? That might take more work.

Fantasy AU where Clint is the prophesied hero that will save the world from the big bad. But while he's the mythological saviour, he's also really prone to injuries. Cue him meeting Nat, who's one of the best swordfighters of their era, to keep him alive to get to the end. There's lots of banter and facepalming, h/c, UST and falling in love.

A curse by someone jealous of their true love (and wanting one of them for their own) turns Clint into a hawk by day and Nat into a wolf (or big cat, your choice) by night. They flee to keep the other safe and try to find a way to get back to their true form.

Sam Wilson and Maria Hill (either or both as Steve's romantic love interest) attempt to convince Clint Barton, school loner, to date the girl that (in)famously made the principal cry.

(Bonus Points for a scene with AU versions of Marvel characters being terrified of Natasha, similar to the "Only if we were the last two people on Earth, and there were no sheep. Are there sheep?" scene)

Natasha and her girls (Maria, Pepper, Sharon...maybe some more?) are having a GNO and they keep electing Nat to go flirt or bat her eyelashes and do her thing to get better seats/quicker drinks/whatever (Pepper could flash her black amex, but this is more amusing after a few drinks). Thought-log 13.4.65-3:42: I guess this is what it comes down to: What am I surviving for? There's no one to tell my story to, no hope of saving the human race; I'm the last contestant dragging myself over the finish line, beaten and bruised in so many ways that even my dad would hesitate to hit me. All this time I've been fighting to stay alive. And for what?

She might kill me. She might hate me. She might be so afraid that she flees and I never see her again. But I've been holding out all this time in silence, and suddenly... suddenly I'm trying to swallow down words.

Maybe we're not the last. Maybe there are other people like us out there, convinced we're the only ones left, wandering through the wreckage like lost sheep. I dunno. But here, today, now, I'm ready to not be alone.


Clint steps around the trash heap and into her view, raising his hand to greet her, to show he isn't armed.

"Hey."

His voice cracks not from teenage hormones but from disuse; her head snaps up and she stares at him, expression sharp and feral and assessing. For a moment they hang poised on the edge of fight or flight, her battered backpack scrunched down towards her shoulder blades, his well-used bow slung over his back.

"Hi," she replies at last, in a deeper and more tentative voice than he would have expected. Hell, it's the end of the world; all expectations are off the table, right?

He starts to laugh at the thought, a chuckle that turns into a belly-aching guffaw that almost hurts until he wraps his arms around his stomach and wheezes. The girl stares at him blankly until her own lips twitch, her shoulders hitch, and she covers her mouth with one hand as she laughs with him. Their eyes are bright when they catch their breath, filled with unshed tears from laughter or relief, and their grins are wide with joy.

"It's good to meet you," Clint tells her, and means every word.

"You too."

They're mostly right, but when it comes to sex for her own pleasure, she finds that she doesn't need or usually want all the fancy kamasutra positions. Natasha doesn't like to admit certain things, so she waits until Clint has already sprawled over one half of the couch to watch Firefly before she curls up next to him and tucks his arm around her waist. He doesn't say anything, never has liked people who talked during movies, just smiles a little as he holds onto her.

Before the first episode finishes, she slips out of his grasp to refill her tea and his coffee and waits just a few moments into the second before she returns with the beverages.

His commentary is as absent, his embrace as warm.

The first time Natasha experienced this...feeling was watching over Clint in a hospital bed a year into their partnership. She wanted to crawl in beside him and hold onto him until she knew he was going to be okay.

The first time she gave into the urge was after they spent a night wrapped up together in his bed. She found herself snuggling into his side, desperate to feel more of him, pure comfort and not sexually at all.

"You're a cuddler," Clint realized aloud.

A mistake. She slugged him on the arm, and he grinned at her but never commented on it again.

They've finished their TV show marathon, Clint's griping his usual spiel about how they cancel all the good shows, and Natasha is lazily lingering in his grip, head over his heart. She wishes sometimes she could will this desire for human contact out of herself—she never had it before Clint—but with a soft sigh, she gives it up as a lost cause, snuggles in a little closer, and lets herself drift off to sleep.

It's not her imagination that Clint's voice softens then trails off and he kisses her hair gently. It's not the beginning of dreams that he wraps his arms around her and keeps watch so she doesn't have to.
