ATTF: Looking Forward To 2017
Hello, hello, hello and HELLO 2017! It's a brand new year, which means we're kickstarting All The Things Friday again and with a 'things we're looking forward to in 2017' edition.
Do you have any fics, fanvids, or other creative works you hope to start/progress/finish this year? (Can we have a sneak peak?) Have you made any new year's resolutions? What films/books/tv shows are coming out this year that you're excited about? Let's have a chat about good things!

Can we have a short three-line quote or teaser? She takes on human form as Clint finishes setting up a long-distance target at SHIELD’s indoor range. Watches the draw and release of his bow, the play of muscles beneath his skin, and then steps up alongside him, shoulder to shoulder, and raises her gun. A Glock – the kind she is beginning to favour. One, two, three shots, hitting three of the arrows embedded in the heavy-duty target. Feathers fluttering down like a grievance of angels.
Have you made any new year's resolutions or have any 2017 goals? I didn't make any resolutions, because I'm awful at keeping them. But! I have armed myself with a page per day diary and I am going to write something (original, if I can) every. single. day. this year. Just little scribbles, but something creative. Every day.
Are there any films/books/tv shows/music etc being released this year that you're really excited about? The new Marvel films, because I'm predictable that way, and I'm optimistic about Logan, but first I very much want to watch Hidden Figures. Lots of books! One of the first coming out is a YA book called Uncoventional by Maggie Harcourt that I read a sampler for last year and sounds up my alley.

OMG SO MANY! I HAVE SO MANY! Um, but here are a few that I want to finish...
1. Six Sexy Words, which is a collection of 50 ficlets. I have about 6 prompts in the queue that I've been struggling with and 6 that are still unclaimed by anyone.
2. A Person of Interest crossover with Shaw & Nat
3. A Nat/T'Challa thing which has a solid middle but no beginning or end
4. Bucky/Steve/Peggy in 1940s
5. A handful of OT3 Natasha/Bobbi/Clint ficlets
And if anyone wants to push me into writing a Bruce/Betty follow up to my hockey AU, feel free to push. I'm not sure how I feel about that one proceeding from a loose outline to an actual fic. ;)

She nodded, and he noticed a small frown marring her expression, similar to the one that had appeared the night before.

"Shaw. How are you?" she asked, smoothing her expression back into it's normally composed facade. They might have been meeting for coffee instead of meeting in the middle of a firefight at least a decade after they'd last seen one another.
"Besides getting shot at? Can't really complain."
Have you made any new year's resolutions or have any 2017 goals?
Nope. I never do, because its just setting me up for failure, but I do set some generally guidelines for myself each year. This year they are: Listen more. Be kinder. Be more patient. Be more present.
Are there any films/books/tv shows/music etc being released this year that you're really excited about?
I really want to see Spiderman WITH the kid and have some special mommy/son time. As for books, I already have way to many things in my to-read list and will surely be adding 5 million more. ;)

UGH I'm having a writing crisis because I've posted pretty much everything I have that I actually like. That being said:
-I have this series of mini-fics, all set along a rough timeline and each with their own prompt, but there's only four so far so I need more ideas/prompts to keep it going... Maybe posting will help, but posting a WIP with no end in sight stresses me out... aka help welcome!
-I've wanted to continue the post-Cap2 thing I wrote by incorporating Carol into the team and then doing a rewrite of AOU with her
-If I can figure out what the hell happens next, I want to continue my florist/tattoo AU
-Just participated in the Steve/Maria secret santa and thinking about continuing it with a series of missing scenes??

“No.” If he wanted to kill her, he would have already tried. If he wanted to kill her, she’d never have made it within SHIELD’s fortress walls in the first place. If he wanted to kill her, well--quite simply, he’d fail.

The only real capital-R Resolution I made is to moisturize more (I live in the upper Midwest and it's COLD). Otherwise, I'm trying real hard to make bullet journaling happen in my life? But more writing in any way is a plus. Oh! And I just signed up for a ukulele class, so that's something :)

Spider-man comics are what brought me into Marvel so I'm TOO EXCITED about the movie! I also have a lot of enthusiasm for Ragnarok, and I'm hoping way too hard for Wonder Woman to be amazing. Plus, Guardians!

Cetaphil as a moisturizer. It's light but deeply penetrating without greasiness or clogging pores. In very cold, very dry New Hampshire, I've found it to be a godsend. More unsolicited advice. Sorry, not sorry. :)

Other movies include gotg2, wonder woman, darkest hour and ye olde man logan. As for tv shows: hmm, I hear there's going to be an adaptation of The Handmaiden's tale so that. Books? Hah, nah xD

Well. I have this fic snippet I started on some time ago, in which Maria Hill is seen to be interviewing a parade of Clint's former flames for reasons unknown. One of these days I'll finish that! Also, there's a Voyager WIP that's actually 1/3 posted, which I get plaintive PMs and reviews about every other week... Hmmm.
On the yet-to-be-started-but-want-to-do side there is a Clint meets Peter Parker one that calls my name. I mentioned it on tumblr and folks have been sending encouraging notes, so...
I also would love to do one about T'Challa and the idea of kingship. I've met a King and a handful of princes and princesses in RL and I'm enormously intrigued by the tension that exists between the public and the private person, in situations where infinite expectations and images are projected onto someone simply by virtue of name, rank and history.
Finally, my series of Guardians/Avengers crossovers practically cries out for a meeting between Gamora and Natasha.

“They were talking about you,” Patel says in the locker room at the appointed hour, trying hard to keep his eyes off Clint’s assets as he towels down. Clint takes pity and wraps the damp towel around his hips.
“Well, duh. I guessed that much. What were they saying?”
Patel takes a deep breath, presses his lips together and fishes a little notebook out of his pocket. His already dark ears turn a shade darker as he flips through it and reads.
“Always leaves the seat up. The abs almost make up for it though.”
Clint nods. That sounds like May.
“Purple. Strong enough in his masculinity to wear a purple t-shirt. But once he puts one on, he goes on a bender and next thing you know, you’re looking at a purple jockstrap.”
Gotta be Drew. Jessica always rolled her eyes when he'd mentioned his favourite colour.
"Anything else?"
Patel clears his throat, his eyes a little wild.
“Don’t expect him to ever remember to pick up the milk on the way home, but he’ll give you a blow job that’ll make you see the moons of Jupiter.”

Bring my weight back down. Use that exercise bike to get some muscle tone back. Go visit at least 3 countries or cities I haven't been to yet.

All the Marvels!! (Surprise, surprise.) Especially Guardians 2 and Ragnarok. "Wind River", with Jeremy Renner and Elizabeth Olsen. Seeing Renner in another dramatic lead will be great. I just hope the script lives up to expectations.

Have you made any new year's resolutions or have any 2017 goals? I call this year's resolutions "things to accomplish" because it sounds less intense, but I want to run another half marathon (the Disney Superhero one I ran last year and also maybe one in Florida), and I want to be more optimistic/happier with myself. I want to take better care of myself and put less pressure on myself in terms of my job and I have some professional goals (like people I want to interview, moderating/being on a comic con panel, writing a comic, etc).
Are there any films/books/tv shows/music etc being released this year that you're really excited about? Hidden Figures, which I still need to see. Also in the MCU world, GOTG 2. I'm really excited for Wind River because of Renner and Lizzie, and I'm actually pretty stoked about Spiderman: Homecoming? The trailers make it look really good. On the comics front, I'm excited about some new and old books that are coming back or coming out, like America Chavez and Sex Criminals.

My friend and I have been writing a series of fun little one-shots for Avengers Academy, and I've finally convinced her to get an AO3 so we can post. That'll hopefully be a low-pressure, on-going thing.
A whole shitload of started and unfinished stories, of course. I eventually want to do a sequel or three for my Tony/Nat story, that' loosely plotted. Then there's a Bruce/Clint or two, because I love rarepairs, and more realistically there's a five-times fic about Steve opening a 24/7 gym.
