So many thank-you's for the wonderful thoughts, and also to bob5ficfor taking a look at this and convincing me it wasn't complete crap and that sometimes it's okay to go all stream-of-consciousness.

Um, so I might have written handholding fic. Didn't fit any of the promptathon prompts, so this one's flying solo.
