Title: The Skies Over Manhattan
Author: [livejournal.com profile] alphaflyer

Word Count: 6,000 so far ...
Rating: T -- may stray into M occasionally, but if so only for language unless my muse takes me places I'm not planning on right now.  (Given what my 14-year-old comes out with, T is probably just fine!)
Warnings: If you're waiting for anyone to have movie night, you will wait in vain.
A/N:  So I'm supposed to be working on a Star Trek piece, but this bubbled up instead.  Team building, the way normal adults with issues might go about it.  Follows "Going to Ground," which has Clint and Natasha figure out that they're really more than partners just after the events in New York.

Shifting POV with everybody turning up eventually, but Clint will be everywhere (okay, so sue me -- I adore Hawkeye).  The relationship with Natasha will be a steady feature (as it were).

I was bored at work and paging through the new Romantic Times when I stumbled upon an article about a new Avengers novel coming out January 1st called New Avengers: Breakout by Alisa Kwitney.

Here's the synopsis from Goodreads:

Fantasy/romantic fiction/comics author Alisa Kwitney (A Flight of Angels, Moonburn) reveals the secret backstory of Avengers couple Hawkeye and the Black Widow.

Under secret orders to assassinate the Widow, the rough-edged marksman finds himself caught up in a violent prison break that releases some of the world’s most vicious and powerful criminals. Defying his superiors, Hawkeye joins forces with the sultry Russian spy - and with a mismatched group of personalities that include Spider-Man, Spider-Woman, Luke Cage, Captain America and Iron Man. Unexpected betrayals and shocking revelations will lead the team from Manhattan’s top security Raft prison to the untamed jungle of the Savage Land in dramatically different take on Brian Michael Bendis’ blockbuster Avengers comics debut.

Learn the sizzling backstory of your favorite big-screen heroes in this adaptation, inspired by the best of page and screen!

I took pictures of the article, including an excerpt from the novel ... and I can't get livejournal to post them, so here some links to a site that actually does what it's supposed to do:
