Title: now that I have your attention
Author: [livejournal.com profile] inkvoices
Remix Recipient: [livejournal.com profile] hufflepuffsneak
Fic I've Chosen To Remix (please include link): Miss Fisher's Murder Mystery AU
Pairing(s): pre Clint/Natasha
Rating: PG13
Warnings (or 'I choose not to warn'): a dead body, Natasha does not do nice things for a living (nothing is graphic or on screen)
Summary: Detective Inspector Barton is not surprised to find Natasha Romanoff in the vicinity of a corpse. Not even a corpse in the underbelly of the space station and her in a ball gown.
Author's Note: [livejournal.com profile] frea_o challenged me to write an AU of an AU and when I got the lovely [livejournal.com profile] hufflepuffsneak in this remix I had plenty of AUs to choose from! I ended up going through many versions of this, from a dystopian space ship searching for new worlds to a steampunk space station, and this is where I ended up. Hopefully I did justice to their excellent peaks through the window into alternate worlds. Thanks go to [livejournal.com profile] franztastisch and [livejournal.com profile] alphaflyer for cheerleading and [livejournal.com profile] sugar_fey for organizational awesome.

Title: Learning Natasha (Again)
Author: [livejournal.com profile] scribble_myname
Remix Recipient: [livejournal.com profile] sienamystic
Fic I've Chosen To Remix: I Know My Place (But It Don't Know Me)
Pairing(s): implied Clint/Natasha
Rating: Gen
Wordcount: 5151
Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply
Author's Note: When I ran through all the awesome fics available to remix, I kept coming back to this one because it talked about how Natasha was coping with becoming a team player, and there were all these little, delightful moments implied that I wanted to capture. I hadn't meant to wrap up the fic with the same scene, but the momentum carried me there and I rather like how it all turned out.

Summary: There are certain things about Natasha that are true. In order to fit in with her new team, she just needs to learn a few more of those truths.

Title: Dreaming of Budapest

Remix Recipient: [livejournal.com profile] sienamystic
Fic I've Chosen To Remix: In Two Straight Lines In Rain or Shine
Pairing(s): Clint/Natasha
Rating: Gen
Wordcount: 1010
Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply, some child/medical abuse and canon-typical violence implied
Author's Note: It's a crossover between Firefly and Avengers and it was really the story implied about Clint and Natasha that drew me to the fic, but then I decided to go watch Firefly so I could really remix it and fell head over heels in love. After that, the fic practically wrote itself.

Okay, so there might have been a very specific line that drew me: The man is a little package of tense, and the red-haired woman has...well, she has the same look on her face as River sometimes gets, right when she’s about to do something at her highest range of inexplicable. How could I resist a first line like that?

Summary: River Tam dreams that Natasha needs help—and answers.

Title: safety pin me to your chest so I can stay put
Author: [livejournal.com profile] allisnow
Remix Recipient: [livejournal.com profile] telaryn
Pairing(s): Clint/Natasha
Rating: Mild M for language
Warnings: I choose not to warn
Author's Note I: So, as remixes go, I'd say that this one is firmly in the "Read the Fic and Let the Plotbunnies Go Wild" camp. For the most part, I was inspired by the title of the fic and of Natasha having to work within SHIELD's constraints to rescue Clint. Having recently OD'ed on Agents of SHIELD, and rewatched Winter Soldier, I started thinking about how things might be different now -- the constraints don't exist, but neither do the resources. And that gave me the perfect excuse to write The Story of Where Clint Was During the Movie, Why Natasha Didn't Seem Especially Worried About Him, and Oh Yeah That Damned Necklace. Because go big or go home, am I right? I do feel kind of bad that this story doesn't reflect the source material more, but I'm hoping that my recipient - and all y'all - will enjoy it for what it is.
Author's Note II: This is essentially a crossover with Winter Soldier and Agents of SHIELD, with spoilers for the latter through the season one finale.
Author's Notes III-V: The POV/tense shifts are Dan Simmons' fault. The man is a crazy genius and I made the mistake of rereading his Hyperion Cantos this summer. It ate my brain. The title is from "Mended" by The Autumn Film. And thanks to [livejournal.com profile] madjm for the beta and my dear 'Becca' for letting me vent, brainstorm, and generally freak out.
Fic I've Chosen To Remix (please include link): Exercising Restraint
Summary: For a long time, Natasha's been expected to hold herself back. But with the fall of SHIELD, she's running out of reasons to keep acting like a good little agent.

Goodness gracious, this month has flown by fast!

This month we had Black Widow #7, which featured Natasha having a run in with Daredevil. We also had some news about the Hawkeye series, namely, that the delays have been due to complications in the personal lives of the creative team. The next issue should be out next month... maybe.

However, the big news this month was the reveal of the cover and solicit for Black Widow's September issue:

Yes, that is who you think it is! The solicit includes: "Because you demanded he shows up in more than just two panels: Black Widow v.s. Hawkeye!"

You know what that means, guys? Not only is Clint going to appear in Natasha's book again, we're going to have an entire issue of Clint-as-drawn-by-Phil-Noto. Oh my.
