See, I thought it was because you knew the area; a lot of people that say "the Hamptons" think they're one big town, when really, they're all a bunch of hamlets that prize themselves on having distinct personalities (whether or not they succeed is up to you). I lived in East Hampton for a little over a year, but I adored Montauk. It was more laid back. The Rolling Stones spent a lot of time there (the Memory Motel is located there, and trust me, it is nothing special) and Andy Warhol and all of them, so I could see Tony appreciating it for the prestige. I'm sorry to hear your trip got canceled, though! (Even sorrier that Sandy happened at all, come to think of it)
Tackling what happens after might be interesting, but I don't know, I really like where the fic ends. :) Like I said before, it's an amazing story.
