My head canon has Garrett trying to recruit Clint, and taking totally the wrong tack. I alluded to that obliquely in 5 Times SHIELD tried to recruit Clint Barton (http://archiveofourown.org/works/1988796) but never really spelled out how it went down. Maybe I should ...
