a/n: written for towerparty's lightning themed "smut" round. my prompt was a game is something you can win; maybe something kind of fun...this spiraled from its initial "playful" tone and I'm not actually sure how "fun" ended up in this incredibly angsty piece, but there's something hidden in there if you look hard enough.
summary: This isn’t about not trusting. This is about regaining trust. Regaining himself, through her guidance, a level of permission he gives her unconditionally, that he’s always given her, even when he hasn’t realized it.
