Autumn in the city was beautiful, especially at dusk, when all the lights flickered on and you could see the sun setting between the buildings in the distance between BedStuy and the Hudson.
Clint liked to take advantage of the rooftop on evenings like these to practice his shooting. And Natasha liked to take advantage of the time to watch him, a thing that boosted Clint's ego more than it needed to be boosted and maybe, just maybe, encouraged him to come up here more often than he otherwise would have.
Tonight, Natasha sat curled up in a deck chair on the roof, wrapped up in one of Clint's hoodies. She'd also tossed a fuzzy blanket over her lap, claiming it was too chilly to be without one.
"You know, if you're cold, you don't have to stay up here with me," he said as he lined up a shot.
"And give up this view? No way," she said with a shake of her head as she burrowed deeper under the blanket.
