THE DAY OF JUBILEE IS UPON US.

Welcome, thou of the faithful 500 (ish. We're actually up to 522 now.)

As of 2:39 EDT, the Promptathon will be closed and the fills must be submitted to the main post by that time.

THAT BEING SAID, if you still haven't finished stuff, don't worry. You can still write it and post, it, just not in the main post. I think

ashen_key is still cool with updating AO3 after today, and I'll probably go ahead and update the LJ master posts as I can. (Sorry for not having updated in the past day or so; life has been crazy--I promise I will soon!)

So what happens now? Now my friends, we party. And I'm not gonna lie, this won't be easy. There will be squee, there will be silliness, there will be pics and gifs and feels and highly problematic men and gorgeous kickass women and impromptu dance parties and friend memes and conversations with new and interesting people. SHIT IS GOING TO GET REAL.

BUT WE CAN GET THROUGH THIS... TOGETHER.

I was just googling Renner to look something up and this "news" article came up. I will admit I'm disappointed he wasn't out with Scarlett. And I have to admit I'm kind of traumatized by the depth in which the article describes the death of Renner's dog. Really odd article.

Yes, definitely, this! (Our stalker - culture is one of my hot buttons, I just don't get it, folks, enjoy the characters, leave the real people alone.... lesigh.)

Oh Jeeeeezzzzzzzz. Paparazzi I really hate them. As much as I love reading about celebs, articles like these give me so much discomfort, because it's, like he says, personal life. So that's why I prefer fandom-fanon-characters.... real people need privacy.

Exactly - I run a fansite for another actor and we have a "no-paparazzi" picture rule. People get annoyed with us, but I don't want to help support the people who make life a living hell for someone I respect.

Woman, you have MY respect for this! (I've seen tons of personal photos from all sorts of celebs - not stuff they themselves put on tiwtter, but stuff that belongs to family albums, and it's just so uncomfortable for me).

Thank you :) We also say no to personal photos unless you have permission to post them. There's a crazy person in the fandom (it's Garrett Hedlund btw - the actor, not the crazy person lol) who has friended Garrett's REAL friends and family over the years and stolen pictures, videos, etc and every once in a while they'll show up online. So frustrating.

There was a fake "Official" facebook that took us forever to get taken down. Felt like throwing a party last week when it was finally deleted.

I completely agree. I am curious about their lives some, but that's why I watch legitimate interviews with them. I don't read any of the paparazzi heavy magazines. Even if I was THAT interested, I can't help but laugh at the articles. All of them say "a source close to [insert celebrity] said that..." For all we know that source is a grocery store clerk that saw the actor once. It's just ridiculous. I usually don't read those type of articles but kind of just stumbled upon it. I can't believe the details about the dog's death, that's really weird to me. It's sad, but dude the detail put into that part is disturbing.

Yeah, all that money can't make up for having to live your live in public. The freedom to just go somewhere and do whatever you feel like without it being in the papers the next day is just priceless.

Seriously, I can't believe it came up as a "news" article because to me it's just gratuitous telling of details. The dog stuff especially is just weird, like the writer has some obsession with celebrity's dogs. Which I'm sure there are people out there.

That's a definite possibility!!! It's a typical example of tabloid writing which is the lowest pit of media and it probably has IQ lowering effect or something.

Well, as someone pointed out on tumblr, Daily Mail = National Enquirer, so take that "article" with a bucket of salt.

I had read an article recently where Renner commented about how pissed off he was that his buddy had been trashed in the press when the dog died because the buddy was looking after the dog for Renner at the time. From what Renner said in the article, his buddy was as broken up as he was and had done all he could for the dog.

And I agree with

bob5fic, this is why I'd hate to be famous. All sorts of crap spewed about my friends and family as well as invading my private life. So not worth it. ;-P

*waves* So much yes! My husband plays in a local band. They have their own website, of course, for practical reasons, like you can hear how they sound playing this or that song. people usually hire them for weddings and other celebratory stuff and they're doing well. One thing my husband is very vary of? No personal photos, no facebook, no private life details of any kind anywhere because he doesn't want to be talk of the town for any reason. Which I understand and support.

But being famous? Ugh no. Ordinary life anonymity = so much better.

*nods* Don't blame him in the least. There are so many groupie types out there that could turn scary!stalker and you definitely don't need anything out there that could lead them back to those you care about.
