THE DAY OF JUBILEE IS UPON US.
Welcome, thou of the faithful 500 (ish. We're actually up to 522 now.)

As of 2:39 EDT, the Promptathon will be closed and the fills must be submitted to the main post by that time.

THAT BEING SAID, if you still haven't finished stuff, don't worry. You can still write it and post, it, just not in the main post. I think [livejournal.com profile] ashen_key is still cool with updating AO3 after today, and I'll probably go ahead and update the LJ master posts as I can. (Sorry for not having updated in the past day or so; life has been crazy--I promise I will soon!)

So what happens now? Now my friends, we party. And I'm not gonna lie, this won't be easy. There will be squee, there will be silliness, there will be pics and gifs and feels and highly problematic men and gorgeous kickass women and impromptu dance parties and friend memes and conversations with new and interesting people. SHIT IS GOING TO GET REAL.

BUT WE CAN GET THROUGH THIS... TOGETHER.

I'm proud as hell of this bar, I am proud to have assisted with this Promptathon, and each and every one of you rock beyond belief.  All the love, my friends. Now let's get down to business. PARTY ON.

I love the show (I may or may not have a slight crush on Noah Wyle that made me watch the show at first) and it can get a bit gory/squicky with all the aliens, if you don't like bugs then you won't like some of them, but it's very well written and just plain awesome if you like explosions. There are also a lot of allusions to the American Revolution and even shows that history degrees aren't useless (a fact that made me happy since I have one, lol)!

I actually hashed out who lived/died/is missing out of the Avengers because we can't make it too easy for everyone right? gotta have lots of angst and whump to write with!

/ramble :)

I'm fine with bugs, just lots of gore and ickiness, I don't like so much. OTOH I can cope with it if the show is good, and from your description it sounds as if it is at least interesting! Plus, who doesn't like explosions? :D With regards to history, I'm taking a module in American History this semester, so maybe it'll be interesting and add to my knowlede. I can totally use that as a reason to watch a show, right? ;)

Planning ahead and hashing out plot is *always* a good thing! I completely understand needing to write the angst and whump; after I wrote the Clint/Natasha post-apocalypse fic (not sure if you've come across the prompt that sparked it, it sounds like it's right up your street though), I planned out a whole universe and decided who was going to come from where and what was going to happen to them. If there's aliens and apocalypses, it can't all be sunshine and rainbows! The darker/more angsty stuff fits so well in those kind of situations. Happy fics are great but sometimes you need to have things going badly for people *sniffle*

/ramble also :)

Agreed! I'm a whumper and for me the more miserable a character is the better for me. I feel that you really get to see who the character is and how they deal with things.

I haven't read that story atm, but from the sound of it I'll be sure to check it out! (and yes, I love post-apocalypse stories! Walking Dead is one of my favorite shows and I'm excited for Revolution) :D
