Um, yum. I love how real this feels, how it's detailed but not drawn out, and soft in a way that's in direct comparison to the edges she's making on her knives. The tension here is just enough to make their touching satisfying, perfect without the kiss - just enough, just enough for their 'exchange' to give me butterflies (which sounds so very weird when I write it out). Mm. I like this, this relationship where she's 'comfortable enough to almost have her back to him'. It's not like many other depictions of them that I've read, and I like the strangeness, the undertones of awareness and living on the edge that come across.

Really, I just love this. :)
