Call for Unfinished Fic!
So today is Monday, and what a Monday it's been.

But enough about me; let's talk about you.

Are you working on any fic? Anything that has you stuck, like you don't know if it's even good any more?

FEAR NOT, FOR I AM HERE FOR YOU!

All you have to do is send a snippet of your current project to bc.unfinished@gmail.com (that's bc.unfinished@gmail.com!) and you could have your work featured as soon as WEDNESDAY on this very comm.

Please do this, we have no submissions and I want people to be more awesome.

PS: Bill Murray said it best at the end of Lost in Translation

Ahaha, sadly, I have TOO MANY things I could send, all with the proviso of "I actually hate this, but it's a draft, pleasedonthateit *stabs it*"

(Nat-as-werewolf, Nat-de-aged and dangerous, renaissance, I'd say 'Budapest' but what I have written only features Nat from someone else's POV, ridiculous poem *throws up hands*)

Ahha, you might get one, once I worked it out - if nothing else, to see if anyone is interested enough in my continuing *g*

BUT I HATE EVERY WORD. I should be used to this, this is normal for my drafts. But, you might get some de-aged Natasha and the team.

::looks side long at the Scrivener files she's been cleaning up and organizing, then over at the now-almost-done fic from last round::

I can probably hook you up.

Yes, yes do!

Yeah, brace yourself for incoming. You realize I've got quite a backlog of stuff all over the map from doing NaNo twice this summer, right? ;)

I actually have one that I'm working on right now, just slow going! Do crossovers count?
[identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/_samalander/ on October 23rd, 2012 03:30 am (UTC)
Absolutely, so long as they're something you'd advertise at thus comm.

So I have a question. So we send in the fic, and then what happens? We get creative support in order to finish it? Or does the unfinished part we send in gets posted on the community, or d you finish it for us and post that?

Cause I have to say the unfinished fic Wednesday is a feature that I haven't been following and does confuse me a little....
[identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/_samalander/ on October 23rd, 2012 11:37 pm (UTC)
You send it in, and on a Wednesday in the future, we'll post it here for people to OOOOH and AAAAAh and demand more.

the basic idea is to encourage people to keep going, because writing in a vacuum can be hard and demoralizing. And cramped, if it's one of those vacuums with a bag.

Thanks so much for the explanation! *hugs*

I might actually take you up on this... there's two I've just stopped writing.
What is odd, is that when I started both I was so completely sure of how they were going to play out, but now I've been left just staring blankly at them, absolutely creatively drained, and totally unsure if they're even worth it at this point...

It works pretty well, too - the bit I submitted a few weeks ago is just about done now. :D Getting people's feedback on it was the kick in the pants I needed.

That's very useful to know! Thanks! :D
