I read a paper about women lead films. The results were surprising: adjusting for budget (and maybe advertising?) films with women in the lead make just as much as films with men in the lead. I think if they make a good action movie, or at least a fun action movie, people will come. And if they think they're going to make more money from an Ant-Man film than a Black Widow film then they're on crack.
