Tamora Pierce is what got me into fantasy in the first place! Well, that's not completely true. I read the Harry Potter books and wanted more so did the wise thing and went to the librarian and asked her what books were like Harry Potter and she pointed out the Lioness series. I'd read it and bought it for myself all in one weekend!
