In my headcanon, Nat is secretly a loon about the holidays. Loves the music. Loves the decorations. Gives secret perfect gifts that no one ever figures out come from her.

She is, after all, a super spy.

Except Clint knows. :D

It began simple enough.

One year, they were just there. The perfect gifts. And not under the ridiculously overwrought tree that Tony insisted on putting up in the common room of Stark Tower. They were always where the intended recipient would find them in their most frequented personal space. Perfectly wrapped. No fingerprints. No way of tracing where they came from. It drove Tony up the freaking wall.

The pad of Italian watercolor paper that Steve found under his shield.

The out of print copy of Patanjali’s sutras that Bruce found on his workbench.

The ultimate multitool in red and gold that Tony found on his.

The limited edition Loubotins Pepper found on her desk chair.

The case of strawberry Pop Tarts that Thor found on his bed.

The Cirque du Soleil tickets that Clint found tucked in his quiver.

That was just the most recent year. For three years they’d been showing up. And no one knew who the secret Santa was.

“I know your secret, Red.”

To Natasha’s credit, she gave no physical sign of reaction to the sound of Clint’s baritone behind her. She merely finished making her tea and turned, raising one perfect eyebrow at him.

“You know what?” she asked placidly.

Around them, the remnants of Christmas dinner were being lazed over and they were alone in the kitchen.

He just gave her a cocky grin and fanned the tickets between his fingers. And held up a button cam between the two fingers of his other hand.

“Damn it.”

“My silence can be bought."

“Oh?”

The tickets went down on the counter. To be replaced by a sprig of mistletoe. That the archer proceeded to hold over his head.

Nat let a slow, wicked grin pull her lips wide. Clint had all of less than a second to react, before she was pressed all the way into his body, pushing him against the counter, fitting her lips to his like they were made that way.

The sound of the button cam *snapping* in his fingers, broke her focus and her enjoyment of the taste of his mouth, of coffee and after dinner chocolate. She pulled away, grinning in full as he sucked in a mouthful of air.

“What were we talking about again?” he asked, his voice a trifle unsteady.

“I have no idea,” Nat purred in response.
