ATTF: appallingly late holiday post
Omg y'all please forgive me. Today has been a day. In today's appallingly late ATTF post, we're talking our favorite master assassins and the holidays. Give me fic/fanwork recs, fics ideas, holiday speculation (as to how certain people might spend holiday times), impromptu freakouts over secret santa fics-- just anything holiday related. It' all welcome. :)

And I hope everyone's holidays are rolling long just fine. So much love to this most wonderful of bars.<3

Next week we'll kick back in with our guest hosting schedule.

*all the high fives* I'm also a tolerater. I'm too much of a empathic stresser (I take on the stress that people are generating around me and internalize it as if it were my own... and I mostly don't even know I'm doing it!) to appreciate the holidays!

But I can TOTALLY see Tony drenching all the living spaces in tinsel and garland!

Yes, Virginia, Christmas is all about the eggnog and claymation.

Well, Tony wouldn't do it himself. He would build a robot that did it for him. :D

(Roommate and I were in Best Buy and I asked him to explain the Christmas movies section to me. He admitted that they were mostly to shut kids up while the adults got drunk.)

It's probably a robot that he built EXCLUSIVELY to decorate for Christmas. The only command it has is COVER EVERYTHING WITH HOLIDAY CHEER.

(That is almost exactly what the old Christmas movies are for. I'm not sure about the new ones... personally, I think the Hallmark Channel just makes a story-of-the-week and sets it at Christmas time every year so that it will soon have enough to have the HALLMARK CHRISTMAS CHANNEL - December 25th every day of the year!

This is EXACTLY how I earned the nickname GRUPID from my friends. The two days of the year that I'm not fond of... Christmas and Valentines. I can be bright and shiny about every other day of the year but I'm not fond of these two holidays. We've made too much of them. We've forgotten what the days are meant to be about. We've forgotten the people as we rush to do all the things.)

Amen. So many people are stressing about presents. That's not what Christmas is about! It's about family and friendship.

Taking this full circle, I think that Clint and Natasha have been so removed from all the madness that they would still be able to focus on the team. For instance, I think they pick out the PERFECT gifts because they listen and notice things. They hear what others might have missed.

Of course, I think the Avengers, as a group, are all hesitant about going overboard with Holiday Planning. I think they've all gotten to the point where they appreciate what they have and who they're with and who they don't have in their lives at the moment. I can see them all being very deliberate about the holiday.

Now I have feels for this topic. Jeesh.

Truth. My friend and I decided that Tony has a series of machines that do things like catching things that he drops whick he uses exclusively to scare people. ("what do you mean priceless? This vase is trash!" *shove*)

I love giving presents. To me, the best part of the holidays is giving a gift that shows the recipient how much I love them and how well I know them. The best part of this month so far has been my roommatecs face when I gave him his gift, because he needed it so badly.

I don't give a crap about valentines day, but I haven't had an so since 2004, so who's to say what I might feel in a relationship?

I guess the holidays I like best tend to be my friend's birthdays, because it's a time to give and make it about them, and no one tries to turn it around and make it about me.

Ps I am the weirdest extrovert ever. I love people, so long as they don't pay attention to me.

I can totally see Tony creating something like that. He'd giggle to himself the entire time! And I think that Happy, even knowing that the robot will catch it, still has a heart attack each and every time it happens when he's near. It's one of the reasons he never goes up any higher than the tenth floor (they've got the best snack machines, anyway).

I thought the gift you gave your roommate was great! Perfectly perfect in every way! Those are the best kinds of gifts.
