I've been prowling through your old icon posts like a crazy lady trying to find cans in the dumpsters! Except that your icons aren't trash and I'm not crazy... okay, your icons aren't trash. We can debate the second part later.

I have the hardest time picking what icons to put on my list. It's all about usage, of course, so I try to figure out where I'll be spending most of my time and emotions I want to convey and then I just run with it. I've snagged perfectly lovely icons that either I don't list right so I can never find them or they just don't express what I want to say. It's so hard!

We debate facts now? ;P Crazy is good, and my icons do end up in my laptop's trash after they've been uploaded.

Ugh, tell me about it. I end up ending a bunch that I love and that I think i'll use, and then the next time I need to add icons I go through and delete the ones from the last adding session that I didn't end up using. This is failing me now though, because I end up with a lot that I use! But then there are lots of old icons that I don't really use anymore because I'm not as active in the fandoms, but I still love them, and I have nostalgia, and some of them I added purely for the fics that I used them with, and... I need to have a proper icon review, bit the bullet, and get rid of the ones I hardly use. *wibble*

When it comes to listing them, I hate when I develop a system, but some icons don't fit, and to change their name means that every time you've used it it'll disappear. Bah! Finding ones that express what I want them to say is easier though - I make them myself if I can't find them ;D Feel free to make requests, heh.

Getting rid of some icons hurts my heart but time makes even the best icon obsolete. I've also discovered that I need to keep at least one from my favorite fandoms because you never know when you're going to need it!

Oh, you probably have. I've got this thing about asking someone else to be creative. I don't mind when people do it with me but I have trouble doing the same to others. The more you say it, the more I'll believe it! Sort of like clapping keeping faeries alive.

One of the things that helped me feel better about doing icon purges was putting them into my photobucket. I know I'll never look at them again but I FEEL better and that's all that matters!

Heh, I already have all the icons that I use and don't but admire in folders on my latop. I still don't like evicting them off my profile page. I'll do it, I WILL, I WILL.

I told the girls at work about the whole "debating facts" line and they were howling. They say thank you for the best laugh all day. :D
