They started out as little compressed "magic towels."

Well, they did indeed grow when placed in water.

But not being one to leave well enough alone, I made something with them.
First, I washed 'em by hand to make sure they were nice and unwrinkled-like.

Then I sewed 'em up a bit and added some stuffing. Et voila!
It's my new Black Widow pillow!

Or is it my new Hawkeye pillow?

Let's be fair now. It's mostly my new Hawkeye pillow. But since I had to rationalize the choice of whoever made Black Widow purple and the Hawk red, I've decided that it's because you can't (or at least shouldn't) have one without the other, so it is totally both, and it gives my little BlackHawk heart glee. (And yes, it is sitting on my Avengers blanket, which I also made out of a kid's sheet set. The blanket is quite durable. The pillow, not so much, due to the nature of the original materials. Still, it was fun to make, and it looks great sitting on my reading couch with Yoda and the Avengers crew. The best part is that it completes the team, as the sheet set featured Thor, Cap, Iron Man, and the Hulk. *grin* If you guys are interested, I'll post up pics of the blanket, too.)
