As I've mentioned in a couple comments, this just worries me.

We can say all day long that this is the best bar and people would never bring drama into it, but we literally just had proof to the contrary a couple months ago that it's not precisely true.

If people in this comm were willing to cheat and make fake votes in the Hetreccer Ship Poll, then what's to stop them from doing it here?

Especially as it'll be even more of a personal "win" for them if it's for one of their stories or one of their friends stories?

Like I said, I'd like to think that it wouldn't happen in this comm with how awesome everyone USUALLY is... but there's members who have already proved that wrong and even bitched out the HetReccer mod when they were caught doing it.

And that worries me. I am not as active here, but I love getting to come and smile every so often. I worry this will just open us up for major drama.

It seems like we've decided against doing a competition anyway.

Yeah it was a few months ago now I guess. My sense of time is shot all to hell.

And a good online friend of mine is the mod - I don't know specifically how she did the math, but I think some of it was people actually going to her with links to sockpuppets etc. But I did see copies of some of the responses to her and it was a mess. Just really turned me off anything with a "winner" all together sadly.

Yeah it was a few months back now. My sense of time is screwed thanks so my job so I'd have to look up when it actually was lol.

Indeed! At least around here we tend to put more "fun" in dysfunctional than in some of the other comms I've been in lol

not to mention at least if FEELS like a family. Like you're "allowed" to offer your opinion, even if it might go against the main stream of thought, without having a) be ignored or b) your head taken off ... been there, had that happen to me.

I mean, this post is the best example. Because we went from one thing to another, basically everyone hearing everyone out, considering what was said and trying to find a way to make everyone happy :)

Yeah EXACTLY! Heck even some of the OT3 versions of our group pairing are welcome, and there's no character bashing either way which I love.

(And yeah, been there too my dear. Been there too lol.)

This post really is an excellent example - it was just a discussion without any dissolve into drama or flaming each other. Go us lol.
