ATTF: Mini Promptathon is here. <3
febprompt_zenni_zpsbb8ff999
Mini Valentine's Day Promptathon: Aka, The Little Baby Promptathon That Could ... Tide Us Over Until It's Time for Big Promptathon to Happen Again. Also an excuse to write about assassins. And love. Or not-quite-love. Or friendship love. Or to rail against commencialism. Or to celebrate kissing (and... stuff). Or maybe Someone really just needs to ask Someone Else out on a date if you catch my meaning.

(Gorgeous banner compliments of [livejournal.com profile] zenni. Thank you!)
******************

Reminder: Posting begins FEBRUARY 14TH at 8:00 A.M. EST. and lasts through February 28th.
Be sure and read the RULES for posting fills before you post.
You can find a handy-dandy list of prompts HERE.
(Thank you, [livejournal.com profile] frea_o!)

The MASTERPOST is up! Enjoy all your fic and fanwork in one convenient location. :)

****
The Timeframe:
Prompts open TODAY (Feb. 1, 2013) starting right now and they will close on Friday, February 8, at 12:00 P.M. EST.

We go dark (no prompts, no fills) from Feb. 8 to February 13. This is your quiet time so you can go write/create ALL THE THINGS.

Posting begins 8:00 A. M. EST on February 14, 2013 and goes through February 28, 2013.

The Prompts:
All tings relating to Valentine's Day-- the good, the bad, the romance, the friendhip, the drama, the awesome, the badassery, whatever. Everything should be themed on love or frisnhip or romance or kissin' (and stuff) or specific Valentine's Day things. Be sure to list each prompt in a seperate comment.

The Fills:
Fills for the Prompts may be any kind of fanwork (fic, artowrk, icons, fanmix, whatever), but they mus be either posted in or linked to THIS POST. Also, please don't post your fanwork separately at the comm, because we don't want this bar to get overloaded with prompt fills. This post is one-stop shopping for prompts, fills, squee, tailgating and general tomfoolery.

And of course, a prompt can always have more than one fill. :)

Rules for Posting:
Closer to the 14th, I'll do a more detailed post on how fills should be posted but the gist is, always put your title, rating and warnings in the subject line of your comment (and if you chose not to use warnings then just say 'chosen not to warn.') Fills without this info will be deleted so please make sure you do this, m'kay? Also, as always, make sure that any NSFW pics or artwork go under a cut.

Well, I think that's it for now. Time to go get this thing started. Happy Frdiay ... and Happy February. I'm really looking forward to this month. <3

FICLET: Of Flowers, Bee Keepers & Plague
“St Valentine is the patron saint of bee keepers and plague, too, you know.”

“Excuse me?”

“Bees sting, the plague destroyed most of Europe, and Valentine’s Day is the embodiment of narcissistic capitalism.”

“Tasha! What the hell?! Some of us enjoy Valentine’s Day!”

“Do you enjoy plagues, too?”

“Did you even practice Valentine’s Day in Russia?”

“Since the fall of the Soviet Union, Valentine’s Day has gained a certain … popularity.”

“Of which you do not approve …”

“I wasn’t really around for it. I was out of the country on missions most of the time by then.”

“Seriously, Tasha? The ancient, shriveled old fortune teller at the circus went back and forth between calling it Singles Awareness Day and Hallmark Appreciation Day, but her husband left her for his 23-year-old receptionist. Forty years ago. And she was still bitter. Probably still is, actually. She was practically pickled – woman’s never gonna die.”

“Are you saying I’m pickled?”

“I’m saying I wouldn’t have gotten you flowers if I knew it was going to make you think of the Black Plague and anaphylactic shock.”

“Just put ‘em in water, Barton.”

Great dialogue here!

“I’m saying I wouldn’t have gotten you flowers if I knew it was going to make you think of the Black Plague and anaphylactic shock.” *snerks*

In the language of flowers, it's posies for the Black Plague, right? ;)

Re: FICLET: Of Flowers, Bee Keepers & Plague
Is this all Natasha's way of saying she forgot to get him something? :P

I loved the banter.

Re: FICLET: Of Flowers, Bee Keepers & Plague
Yeah, no idea where that one came from...heh!

I want you to know that I have thought of you as I write my current storyline. There's a line I'm totally stealing from Janeway. :D

Let me guess. "Weird is part of the job?" :-)

Re: FICLET: Of Flowers, Bee Keepers & Plague
Well done. :-) That's the second half. I also steal "the future is the past, the past is the future. It all gives me a headache." :-)

Re: FICLET: Of Flowers, Bee Keepers & Plague
Excellent! One of my favourites is "Sometimes diplomacy requires a little sabre rattling." Used that as a lead-in for a chapter in one of my ST stories ("The Andorian Incident").

Re: FICLET: Of Flowers, Bee Keepers & Plague
I love how you can't tell until the very end exactly what their relationship is - just friends, dating, snarky teammates... :) Great dialogue! Thanks for making me laugh; I really needed that today.
