Happy Friday, Shippers! Hope you are doing well.
Even though the film has only been out for a little over a month, we have already been blessed with awesome freaking fic. Like, I can't even. The caliber of writing is superb, it covers such a wide variety of topics, and it's just damn fun to read. I'm still combing through all the great stuff that's been posted here, and I haven't even begun to plumb the depths of AO3. And the fic is not going to stop any time soon (and the fandom said "HUZZAH!")
So. Fic Rec Fridays. It's an idea I've been toying around with a for awhile. Here's the deal: we pick a genre of fic each Friday and bring our recs to the table, along with dicussion and whatever-the-hell-else strikes our fancy. The purpose is two-fold: (i) to generate recs (obviously), and (ii) also to begin a system of more detailed tagging, so as this fandom grows, it will make fic and other fanworks easier to find. You with me so far? I've been brainstorming genres and have started a list (which I'll post in the comments), but would love to hear your ideas as well. Also if you like the idea. Also if you have suggestions. But most of all, as a way to generate and organize recs.
So to kick things off, I thought I'd start with SUPERSEKKRIT MARRIAGE FICS. It's about the tropiest of tropes, but hot damn I love being in a fandom where this is a legit subcategory of fic. And it could totally be canon. Totally plausible. And it's so much fun to play with the idea that our lovely Master Assassins might have tied the knot long ago unbeknownst to everyone around them. I'll rec two to start us off:
Assumptions by TashaBlackWidow (on AO3)
One of the first fics I ever read, written before the movie came out. It's all about the humor here, and the team!shawarma dialogue feels perfect. The epitome of funny and cute.

Post-movie. This is a more serious take on secret marriage, and handles the subject in a very thoughtful and beautiful way. Characterization feels spot on---sparse and perfect. Guaranteed to induce undignified flailing. ;)
So what about y'all? Bring your supersekkrit marriage recs to the table! (And please don't limit it to fic---any kind of fanwork related to this category is welcome.) Also, our first friending meme is still going strong, if you haven't already, go and check it out and chat it up. Good times.
