ATTF: Three sentences of awesome.
Hello dearest bar! I'm steering the ATTF ship today, and I've seen this going around in a few other places, so I thought we could try it here. Welcome to the first ever [livejournal.com profile] be_compromised Impromptu Three-Sentence Ficathon.

Yep. Three sentences. A fic. Or meta. Or whatever. You can post your three-sentence works of art in to ways: wait for someone to prompt something in the comments below and write a response to it or just come up with your own three-sentence fic/meta idea from scratch. Or do something else I haven't even thought of yet (it's early; I still need coffee). Just bring all the prompts--- and all fic and meta (in a three-sentence form).

We can all pitch in! Writers write! Non writers prompt! Everyone bring your own brand of polite anarchy!

The only things we require: post a rating in the header, and list any applicable warnings (or say chose not to warn). That's it. Go forth and have fun. <3

And Happy Friday. :)

Rated PG, no warnings
Natasha walked into the den, took one look at her partner, and said, "For the love of—Clint, we have a ladder."

"But this works just fine," Clint said, only wobbling a little as he reached to get his backup quiver, "and it was right there."

Natasha sighed in disgust and walked away, muttering something about circuses and acrobats that Clint couldn't quite make out.

you can't redact the world, G, no warnings
But late at night, when she's curled up in bed asleep with a light left on for him, he leans against the wall with a notepad and a dictionary, pencil in his mouth, puzzling through the thick language.

He learns constantly, determinedly, a teenage kid riding the circus with a half-finished high school education and a million questions about the world, told by the hands and the drunkards that they don't know and why doesn't he figure it out for himself? And inside his head is now a lifetime's worth of knowledge, stored against future need, saved to answer those million questions - and the millions more since.

[But there's only one question he knows he'll never be able to answer, the only one that matters anymore.

"Are you coming to bed?" She asks, her sleepy voice drifting through the hallway.

Clint pauses, picturing her dozing in the sheets waiting for him, and sets the books down with a contented smile.]

Re: you can't redact the world, G, no warnings
DUDE.

This mirrors my personal headcanon with respect to Clint like YOU HAVE NO IDEA. I hereby declare this the thoughtful and feels-inducing continuation of my flippant, snarky-ass drabble.

Re: you can't redact the world, G, no warnings
And YES regarding head canon. I picture (and have written) a Clint with overflowing bookshelves, reading on stakeout to catch up on things missed, to learn the world in which he is asked to play such an often definitive role, and to keep up with the PhDs who think him a mere carnie. Sooo -- kudos!!

(Thanks, Bee, for pointing out that SWS did this 'sequel' .... And for having a wonderful ATTF idea to begin with.) :-)

Re: G, no warnings
It's the best use of German transcendentalists! Or any book over 1000 pages!
