ATTF: assassins getting around
Apologies for a late ATTF today. Well, for some time zones anyway :)

Speculation, discussion, fic recs, and fun on all the things our assassins like to drive, fly, ride, etc. AKA Assassins And Their Transport. Go!

We've seen both of them flying although I got the impression Clint was piloting and Natasha was the co-pilot (?) and Clint drives off into the sunset with Loki at the start of the Avengers. Other than that? I recall conversations about Clint and cars - muscle cars, vintage cars - and I confess, I know nothing about cars, but the Hawkeye comics have me believing that Clint does (and also a thing for boats?). I blame The Bourne Identity for somehow thinking he has a thing for motorbikes maybe (and, thanks to [livejournal.com profile] workerbee73 and [livejournal.com profile] bob5fic's Teenage Make Out Series, specifically part one, for thinking that Natasha is okay with this). Mind you, the photoshoots of Renner with motorbikes and cars certainly help as well! For Natasha, I have this headcanon that Maria Hill is awesome at evasive and dangerous driving, and that she taught Natasha, and that Natasha is far better at it than Clint. Mostly because she takes crazy driving seriously. But how many vehicles can they each drive, I wonder? What do they prefer? Weirdest thing they've hotwired/stolen? Any rules about who chooses the music? ...?

As always:
1) Always label NSFW (Not Safe For Work) stuff in the title and post under a cut.
2) Fic and artwork needs to have a rating and warnings (or you can say that you’ve chosen not to use warnings).
3) For people with annoying internet connections, say in the title if a comment is graphic/images/gif-heavy and post picspams under a cut.
4) Have a damn good time! (Because if that’s not happening then this post has clearly failed.)

Well, the news montage was primarily people showing their gratitude (and concern) about the Big 4; right or wrong, I think it makes sense that the more ostentatious and visible Avengers would have gotten the lion's share of the media attention. Our poor neglected bebes ;)

And I totally agree with you about Clint. :) I don't think he has much he calls his own either, but I see him appreciating the cars he probably gets to drive for missions.

Yeah, and he would know all the specs about the engine and design and whatnot, and Natasha would be all, "It's a car. It has four wheels and a gas pedal. What's the big deal?"

One of my readers informed me the SHIELD car was an Acura sedan, for what that's worse. It looked souped up, and given the bouncy way Clint got into it and the way he drove the Loki truck, it probably should be. I see him as highly competent a driver as he is a pilot (the movie gave us ample evidence of both), with a "nee for speed" even when he's just going from A to B. I'm also pretty sure he could drive anything that moves, based on the likelihood (and possibly a history) of needing to escape from sticky situations on whatever conveyance is handy.

My own head canon ("Skies Over Manhattan" ch. 3) has SHIELD block off relevant parts of Central Park for the "ascent"; I'm pretty sure you can't just drive onto Bethesda Terrace without the Park authorities getting shirty.

It was pretty snazzy looking :)

Yeah, that's probably a safe bet.

Just revisiting the page, now that I have access to "real" internet services again. I'm intensely grateful that you didn't clip my horrific typo(s) into your reply... Thank you for preserving my dignity. I will not send comments via blackberry again. (Repeat fifty times, Alpha.) :-)

LOL you're welcome. I figured it was something like that.
