I just wanted to chip in on I don't see why a group of adults who hardly know each other would be willing to do that :) because I really enjoy it when they all move in together in the Tower or mansion, but I'd been preferring the Tower and you've made me realise why. Because in the fics where they all move into the mansion it's a set-up where often they have their own bedrooms, but then live together as in shared kitchen, living room etc. Wereas in the Tower it ranges from them having their own space and gradually spending time in shared space together, to each of them having their own floor/apartment, so it's not so much living together as like living in the same block of flats, being neighbours. And as a group of adults, yeah, that sits better with me.
Then I had thinky thoughts about the 'reason' which is often that they should live together for responding to crisis' etc. I'm actually happy with other reasons (Bruce is friends with Tony and has no where else to go, Steve finds he prefers the company, Tony doesn't charge rent and the space is damn nice, whatever) but on this parcular reason...and in Hawkeye Fraction has Clint with his own space but visiting/showing up at the mansion... what if it was just having a base of operations? As in somewhere they could decompress after missions or be on hand at busy times, get sleep, kind of like SHIELD barracks? Or a fire station?
Anyhow, yep, you made me have thinky thoughts and triggered a new perspective think so :D
